Anaesthesia gangster kid

AeroMechanical says...

My father was an anesthesiologist for a while at the Naval hospital in Bethesda, MD. Apparently the spooks and what have you that had surgery there said all sorts of interesting things they probably shouldn't have.

Anaesthesia gangster kid

ChaosEngine says...

Why the fuck would you put this on youtube? It's a total dick move.

I remember coming out of surgery years ago and ranting like an idiot. It was like being drunker than you can possibly imagine, except it's not self-inflicted.

And yeah, it was pretty funny.... my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) teased me about it for months, but there's a pretty big difference between a private joke between us and putting the fucking thing on youtube.

Sort of crazy test for surgical residents in Japan...

mentality says...

Kind of gimmicky.

As long as you're trainable and not a total klutz, you can develop the hands skills you need throughout residency. It also depends on what kind of surgery you're doing. A general surgeon for example doesn't quite need the same level of fine motor dexterity as an ophthalmologist.

What's FAR more important to a residency program is someone who is hard working, reliable, dedicated, and a team player who can get along with others.

Democratic Socialism. What is it really?

enoch says...

i have watched a few of this guys videos, and while he has great energy, passion and a penchant for sly humor, but he tends to impose his understandings as somehow being more valid and accurate.

just take his example of the role of government.
he makes a valid point, and then solidifies his position by implying his view is set in this countries original documents.

which is fair, but only to a point...he literally ignores the federalist papers, which he actually references, and it was these 200+ papers and/or arguments that debated the actual role of the federal government vs the role of state government.

@MonkeySpank he is actually right.america is not a true direct democracy but rather a democratically elected representative republic.

after he makes some valid,if fairly biased points,he devolves into the gospel of capitalism and how it is a natural extension of our democratic republic.

really dude?
name ONE corporation that is democratic in any fashion?
you can't?
maybe that is due to the very obvious and plain fact that corporations are tyrannical by their very design.

this semi-educated man is just preaching the gospel of his religion:capitalism.

and referencing lenin like 20 times?
dude...read a fucking book on the history of the soviet union.

oh jesus..now he defending trickle down economics.....
sighs..how the zealots adore their doctrine of their holy texts, even if those texts are just figments of some economists wet dreams and has been proven to be an utter and glorious failure.

sanders is a democratic socialist, not like a denmark flavor but more of a FDR flavor.you know...the most popular president in this countries history and ushered in the most prosperous era in this countries history.

i could do a play by play on this man all day,and make him cry like a pretty little thailand ladyboy who cant afford his life-changing surgery into a actual woman.

well..he does have that douchebag hair.so he may already be looking for a surgeon.

yeah..im with @MonkeySpank,this dude just needs a good cock punch.

Science to the rescue; this is how you rehab a broken back

worthwords says...

it's probably worth noting that 'broken back' isn't a medical diagnosis. There are a whole range of injuries that could potentially fall into that category with damage to the spinal coord being the most serious. A fractured vertebra/pedicle or a popped disc can have complications including sciatica and variable paralysis of a nerve root which may fully resolve with time and or surgery.

In this case, you can see in the preview she is sitting on the side of the pool with her spine taking the whole weight of her torso/head - so i'm not sure what the 'reduces forces on her bones' means.
While this type of exercise offers fantastic rehabilitation I wouldn't want people to think that you could dump Christopher reeves in there and cure his ailments!

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Abortion Laws

bobknight33 says...

Who fights for the unborn? Not the left.

I do agree that these new hindrances are fairly messed up but that is what is available to lawmakers.

There should be a few instances that abortion is allowed and these should be done at the hospital at same day surgery clinics where minor procedures are preformed.

AS fat as the 13 yr old she is not being punished. Where are the cops arresting the rapist? PPH are obligated to report that.
The baby’s heart will start beating during the fifth week. The heart is too small to generate enough sound waves to be audible, even when amplified by the use of medical equipment in your doctor's office. However by the 6th week the beats can be measured.

Its odd if I kill a pregnant woman I get charged with 2 counts of murder. If the woman kills the fetus no problem with that.

An Unfortunate History of White Actors Playing Other Races

VoodooV says...

And they explained away Khan's original appearance being transformed into Khanberbatch as just futuristic cosmetic surgery in the prequel comic I think.

But yes, it's still stupid. In their defense, how else were they going to do Khan? The person would have had to have looked like Montalblan otherwise.

But going back to stupid since it was just stupid to reboot the Khan storyline. Cuz yeah, a genetic superman from the 1990s would be a really big help fighting a war in 2200s. Obviously war in the 2200s is exactly the same as it was in 1900, no leap in logic for this fossil to design a hyper advanced starship that dwarfs the flagship of the day...not at all.

Model Has Six Ribs Removed In World's Smallest Waist Bid

newtboy says...

I actually found the crazy eye makeup and contacts more off putting than the whole 'bobble torso' thing, but I definitely think she's gone past the point where more surgery makes her look better a long way back.

Herpetologist Details His Envenomation and Death

nock says...

DIC is extremely tricky to treat and he would likely have died either way. The only consensus guidelines are to treat the underlying cause, which in his case was antivenin. Treatment with platelet transfusions and FFP are recommended only in certain circumstances (such as emergent surgery) and even this recommendation is without strong supporting evidence for its efficacy. Added FFP and platelets without treating the underlying cause can exacerbate end organ thrombosis. This thrombosis may be treated paradoxically with heparin.

worthwords said:

Note that in the absence of antivenom, DIC and respiratory suppression can be managed in an Intensive care setting - blood transfusions and fresh plasma for coagulation deficiencies would have been available at this time so it would have bene worth a try. I doubt that he underestimated the venom - bleeding from the gums is a clear sign of systemic coagulopathy which was not going to clear by itself and any herpetologist worth his salt would know that.

Oil Change Scam - Canada

Fransky says...

The thing that really pisses me off about these places is that they exist in a legal grey zone. In Ontario, you have to be a licensed auto mechanic (OCoT scope of practice) to fix cars. But because they only change fluids, the franchise owners were able to worm their way into only hiring flunkies off of the street with minimal training. They haven't done an apprenticeship, and don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. They shouldn't be "recommending" anything. It's like asking a truck driver for heart surgery advice.

The Worst Nobel Prize Ever Awarded

poolcleaner says...

You know how the pressures in life can cause people to do crazy things? And if a person does too many crazy things, then that person is crazy. Sometimes you can do things to keep from going crazy, like drinkin', or havin' sex; but, if the craziness goes too far, sometimes the only thing left to do is to cut out that part of the brain that makes you crazy.

That kind of brain surgery is called a frontal lobotomy. Maybe this song will help you understand what I mean.

"Jimmy and I were brothers.
We went down different paths.
Jimmy always listened to my mother,
And me, I never like to take a bath.

"As we grew and tumbled through adulthood
The pressure caused emotional drain.
So now I'm slowly dying in the bottle
And Jimmy has to live with half a brain.

"Yes, me, I've got a bottle in front of me,
And Jimmy has a frontal lobotomy.
Just different ways to kill the pain t"he same.

"But I'd rather have a bottle in front of me,
Than have to have a frontal lobotomy.
I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane.

"Jimmy let his troubles drive him crazy.
He never tried to drown it in a drink.
I know that drinking makes my thinking hazy,
But at least I still have brains enough to think.

"Jimmy's got a brain that isn't stable.
He doesn't have the sense to say his name.
I'm sorry that his doctor was unable
To remove the proper portion of his brain.

"Yes, me, I've got a bottle in front of me,
And Jimmy has a frontal lobotomy.
Just different ways to kill the pain the same.

"But I'd rather have a bottle in front of me,
Than have to have a frontal lobotomy.
I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane.

"Funny how the world works.
People can be real jerks.
Some prefer the tension over booze.

"Either way it ends the same.
Hard to beat the living game.
Might as well enjoy it while you lose.

"When I need a drink I start to shiver
And Jimmy always viewed it with concern.
But I'd rather have cirrhosis of the liver
Than an intellect that's second to a fern.

"I wonder if old Jimmy's gonna hear it
When I tell him that his logic wasn't sound.
They'll dose him up on lots of evil spirits
When they take him to the psychiatric grounds.

I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane!"
