Ray Tries to Eat Baby

ponceleon says...

>> ^PlayhousePals:

Very cool video, but the title is entirely inaccurate. The ray was just climbing up the side because they had food in the little plastic cup and it must have figured out over time to do that to get it...
More obviously, that's the wrong side of the stingray...

Thank you Captain Obvious! [it caught your attention though] =oP

Well, you could have said "Stingray tries to eat baby" and it would have been more accurate and still made me look!

Seconded. I know from visiting my local aquarium a lot that they know exactly what's going on and are trying to get the food.

THE MASTER -- She wrote me a letter

shuac says...

I like the teaser where he recites some of his poetry:

I love you, you love me.
Goin' down the sugar tree.
We'll go down the sugar tree,
and see lots of bees:
playing, playing.
But the bees won't sting,
because you love me.

Gets me every time.

Oh wait, I may be thinking of another PT Anderson.

Owner tracks down bicycle thief. 2 Wheel of Justice!

sickio says...

Not sure if the cops in the US would do this, but in the UK you can pop into the local station and tell them what is happening and they will send a plain clothes cop with you for the sting.

It works much better as the cop will ask the right questions (dates, times etc...) to the seller to help implicate him.

Good work putting the whole sting in jeopardy for a few seconds of in-your-face citizen journalism. Getting the guy to back-pedal on his story was golden video content.

Thank your friends for being able to stitch your whereabouts for the police arriving on scene whenever they did.

And thank your lucky stars the guy didn't risk assaulting you to get you off his tail so he could high-tail it outta there without you on his ass.

Calling the police before you went on your sting would've been a better idea. <- not sarcastic.

Kansas native and current resident here (not to mention Google fiber registrant )...

While I will concede it is largely religious and regressive here, it still stings to hear my home badmouthed and generalized. I grew up in the suburbs of KC hating it for being so much more boring than all the lively places I saw on TV. Then I traveled across the world, seeing desolate deserts, gleaming tokyo, and everything in between. Among all of it, Kansas would still rank among the best places to live in my book.

And there are more progressive communities if you bother to look, notably Lawrence, our "blue island."

The Eva Cassidy Story- timeless voice, but fame after death

A10anis says...

What selfish god would take her SO soon and SO cruelly? (bible ranting apologists need not respond).
Apparently when Sting heard Eva's rendition of his song "fields of gold" he cried and said; "that is the way I imagined it should be sung."
I would also recommend listening to her simply beautiful rendition of Danny boy which, for me, has never been bettered.

Heritage Foundation response to "Obamacare" nightmare

KnivesOut says...

November is coming... so hilarious.

Will you promise to leave the country when Obama is re-elected?

Also, your boy Rmoney built a a healthcare plan very similar to the one you're so enraged about. Wow, that must sting.>> ^quantumushroom:

Didja read my post before commenting, because health care is not really the issue here, serfdom is.
We have had a very similar scheme in australia for DECADES. If you dont get private health cover, the govt will tax you to a rate where you would otherwise be paying for it anyway, in order to provide public care to those too poor to even pay taxes to begin with.
So why does anyone there bother to buy private health insurance? Isn't socialied medicine just as good or better than for-profit health care?
This ensures EVERYONE IS COVERED EVERYWHERE, no matter the circumstances.
If you have ZERO insurance and you have to amputate a leg, or get coronary bipass surgery....ITS FREE!

We have that here too. Ever hear of Medicaid? What about the "free" care for the 12 million illegals here (more than HALF of Australia's ENTIRE population)
Our standard of care is FAR above yours, WE SPEND LESS GDP PER CAPITA than you for it too!
You're really going to compare an island of 22 million to the USA? You are FAR from utopia.

th-and-health-care-australia
Access to (Australian) health services is becoming less equitable. Patients’ out-of-pocket costs have grown 50% in the past decade and now, for some, present a sizeable barrier to needed care.
You don't get it because you're not an American. As an honorary member of the Euro system, you will always see government as the solution to everything, and that's fine for you, but that shit doesn't fly here. The settlers didn't flee England in search of a new world in order to have a gigantic leviathan government coddle us. Fucking Obama and King George III of England look a lot alike these days, maybe it's the crown.
Your assumptions are many and flawed. You assume taxocrats (the American left) want to "save" money. They couldn't care less, we've spent 9 trillion on a failed war on poverty. Liberals measure success by the weight of their good intentions, not results.
In other words, insanity.
If this was really about the 30 million uninsured, there's more than enough revenue just to cover them. But Nooooooo, EVERYONE is now a subject of the King, because this corrupt legal decision isn't about health insurance, it's about control. Tyranny. The end of freedom.
Fuck 'em. November is coming.

I think taint said it pretty well, the hypocrisy which is veritably oozing from your post, so I won't pile on to that.
What I will say is that all authority belongs to Jesus Christ, and since you do not belong to Him, you have no authority what so ever. You told me that you "counsel" Christians who are in a "crisis of faith". Considering your very public anti-christian stance, and the things you have told me, it's not hard to imagine the kind of "advice" you have to offer someone who is vulnerable in their faith. What kind of ideas you insinuate into their lives.
Your error is that you believe you can do it your way, and you have bought into that selfish trap hook, line and sinker. You rail against the bible, why? Because it says you're wrong. Scripture says that you have bought the lie and fallen into delusion. Why? Because you think you can be like God, just like Eve did. It is the oldest lie that there is. What you call theosophy is described in Revelation 2:24. You cannot know God except through Jesus Christ, period, end of story. You beg borrow and steal from His wisdom to try to make an end run around Him, but you will never know God until you submit yourself entirely to His will. He is the Creator, and He has commanded you to repent and believe the gospel.

http://science.slashdot.org/story/12/06/03/1334230/how-chemistry-stymies-attempts-to-regulate-synthetic-drugs

There is an ever increasing crackdown on vendors of these stimulants, and an ever increasing response from the chemists by synthesizing more. One of the people who ran a website just for vendors got caught up in a sting operation, and he is one of many similar stories taking place.

http://internetchem.blogspot.com/2012/04/federal-crackdown-on-research-chemical.html

The legislation in response to this has been to basically ban "chemicals" ... and i wish i were kidding about the specificity in some of the laws... although in all cases, banning a specific one does nothing.

It's almost like you can't win a war on drugs... only a war on the people who use them... that's a fact sure to help cure the paranoia, but just in case, lets make sure people who are angry and under-medicated can get guns.

if we're the majority who is deciding our lives for us...the plot thickens*!
