Republican Tax Scam Is Handwritten Nonsense

bobknight33 says...

So I support a party that raised taxes and you support a party that does what? Lower taxes?

You don know jack. we can only speculate.
It has not passed yet.

mentality said:

Can't think of anything to say to my previous post Bob? Can you explain why you support a party that raises taxes for the poor to give to the rich? Did Jesus teach you that? He would be disgusted by people like you.

And can you explain why you support a president who is a debaucherous lecher? Will you yell "Boss TRUMP!" when he grabs your loved ones by the pussy? And why are you full of double standards and make excuses to support a pedophile?

It's because you are a hypocrite and you have no morals Bob.

The Tragedy of Jon Stewart

Wrong! Fake news! This is such an unbelievable pack of lies and speculation. I bet you work for Crooked Hillary! Couldn't be more wronger. Covfefe!

His real name is Yuri.

So there.

Pomegranate Discrimination

Jinx says...

I thought there was some speculation that the fruit of the tree of knowledge was probably a pomegranate.

I mean. if that tree was real. and the devil was real. then it would sorta been the devil's fruit. briefly. If any of that was real.

They are the devil's apple after all.

edit: Aww... no they're not. My mother always called pomegranates devil's apples, but then I went and googled it and apparently that's not a thing.

Cops Getting Caught On Video Hasn't Led To Convictions

bobknight33 says...

Newt
I do go to bed hatting you but then I think of you in that yellow dress then all is well.

Having a clear opportunity to plant evidence is not the same as planting evidence.

When was his body camera on? When was it turn off? You are making a reach that he turned it off to "plant a gun" . If this happened then yes I would have more suspicion towards the cop.

Other than facts you are speculating , pure conjecture of a planting of a gun. That does not hold up in court..

Ok

Black guy shoots me - a white drug dealer -- then plants a gun in my car .. but only evidence is a bystander showing the killer messing around in his back seat then goes to my dead body in the car and later a gun is "found" ... But no one see this planting -- DNA of only the black shooter found on the planted gun.

Yes in this case you might be convicted of planting a gun.. Or some other that would suggest that you planted the gun.

..........Only because there is no reason for the killer to be in the car...............

The cop had reason -- to search for weapons/ drugs / paperwork of the car etc. So not quite apples to apples.

newtboy said:

Bob
You're so dishonest. You've said clearly that you go to bed hating me. ;-)

In the tape, I see the clear opportunity to plant evidence (with no other explanation for what he was doing retrieving something in his squad car after shooting him but before he's even removed from the car, and sitting in the victims car with his body camera off), which he hides from the cameras in his uniform instead of showing it off to bystanders in his hands, and when tested, the gun only had the officers DNA and fingerprints, and the victim wasn't wearing gloves, the cop was. No explanation given for any of that.
Edit: that's motive, means, and opportunity, and unexplained evidence with no other reasonable explanation.
Case closed.

EDIT: Given the exact same circumstances but a black citizen shooting another citizen, then performing the exact same hyper suspicious actions, you would absolutely, zero question in my mind, say it's incontrovertible that the black man murdered the other man and planted a gun and drugs to get away with it.

Funny, you and your side of the isle has spent at least 8 years in the streets over sour grapes, now you suddenly think you're reasonable and thoughtful....but you don't even understand the words.

If blacks were killing officers at the rate that officers are killing blacks, you would say they've declared open season on law enforcement...oh wait, you've already said that, even though cops actually kill 25 times more citizens than people kill cops, and by far most of those citizens are black.

Why Magneto Can Never Be In the MCU

Mordhaus says...

Ahem, Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. Just as an example, although not seen (yet) in the MCU, both Dr. Strange and Charles Xavier together could not totally defeat her.

Quicksilver could probably take him down as well, but he is no longer available in the Avengers movie canon.

While not shown in the MCU, and therefore up to speculation, Thor's hammer can actually absorb Magneto's magnetic manipulation and cannot be controlled by Magneto. There is an alternate universe comic that shows Thor with multiple versions of the hammer, but only one is the actual Mjolnir. At one point, Magneto captures one of the non-Mjolnir hammers because it has a base of Iron instead of Uru (the metal used to forge Mjolnir).

So, pretty funny, but far from accurate. Obviously, Hulk doesn't seem to care who he smashes (if they are heroes or villains), so I don't think he would back down either.

Helicopter Rescue Accident

jimnms says...

It has a fan driven by the main gearbox. It's pretty rare for those to fail, but does spin like it lost control of yaw though. My first thought was since it's landing so close to the edge of that cliff, if the wind is moving from the right to left, there is going to be a big updraft coming over the cliff.

Watching it again, it looks like the pilot is having to fight some wind and seems to be having trouble keeping it down. Between 40-45 seconds, it looks like the wind changes as the helicopter appears to lift up and weather-vane into the wind just before losing control.

I found this video which is in German. If the Google auto-translate isn't too off, it says the cause is still unknown, but whoever they're interviewing at the end speculates that the helicopter was too heavy for the altitude it was operating at.

CNN begs for forgiveness, Project Veritas plays its Zapruder

newtboy says...

I agree, don't make up your mind without proof, but give the horrendously slow process a chance to uncover it before dismissing the accusations. All indicators point to some collusion...who and how much are relative unknowns. Ignore speculations and wait is the best course right now, imo.

No, I don't accept either bowl. I never watch CNN, nor do I consider them more than a step above Fox. That's the nature of 24 hour "news"....it stops being news at all. My point was, their low standards don't erase the staggering implications of what little we do know or make the story "fake".

I can't accept that we shouldn't impeach a traitor (edit: should he be proven to be one) because his successor will be worse, but I do agree, president Pence is a horrifying thought.

seymour hersh was the journalist who debunked and exposed the fabricated narrative of the assad regime using sarin gas against the syrian people.

that was in 2013.

and i think you need to differentiate between an institution and an individual.
there have been individual analysts who have come out and openly spoken against the current narratives being put forth by their respective intelligence institutions.

not trying to be a dick here, but i think you are painting with too broad a brush.

we actually agree FAR more than disagree.
the difference is i am demanding evidence not politically motivated speculation by agencies who have proven themselves to be extremely deceitful when it serves their interests.

and i refuse to recognize a corporate media outlet which puts profit above all else as a credible "news" source simply because it appeals to my dislike and disgust at our current sitting president.

james o'keefe is a slimeball, and breitbart a rag that appeals to the most base, and biased of us,but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

and to even attempt to give either any validity or credence is akin to accepting a big giant bowl of feces simply because it smells a tad less worse than the other.

still two bowls of shit to chose from....and i refuse both.

so when you say you disagree with me,you really don't.
you are just accepting that "less" smelly bowl of shit.

and hey,you may have chosen correctly, and it may all be true.
i will be the first to congratulate you on being right.

and then they will impeach trump, and then we all get to enjoy president mike pence.

now think on THAT little nugget for awhile.

Bernie Sanders Blasts Secret GOP Health Care Bill

ToastyBuffoon says...

I didn't hear Bernie once in this video say he KNOWS that the bill is all doom and gloom. He makes it quite clear that he is speculating while rightfully asking for them to be transparent and inclusive with the bill. Why wouldn't anyone with half a brain think that this bill is similar to the Trumpcare bill that passed the house?

bobknight33 said:

If Republicans aren't saying shit about their bill how does Bernie know all this doom and gloom? Democrats are pure Bull shit. Bernie included.

Why Is Salt So Bad for You, Anyway?

transmorpher says...

Here's the study he's talking about in the video: http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1311889?query=featured_home&#Results=&t=articleBackground

It looks like a legitimate study, but being correlational it should be taken with a grain of salt *snare drum, splash cymbal* As corrolation cannot show causation.

They seem to control for various factors like age, cholesterol level and previous hypertension too, so they don't appear to be fudging any results.

Perhaps I could argue they aren't measuring salt intake, but rather sodium excretion, and estimating intake based on urine samples. So there is potentially a huge difference in diet - a lot of the participants were from Asia, where they don't tend to use table salt (they use soy sauce instead) And even though it's still high in sodium, soy sauce could be going through a different process inside the body. (Similar to how sugar doesn't cause an insulin spike when it's in fruit form, but does when it's refined form). It's possible that the salt from soy could be passing through the body rather than settling in the blood stream. I'm just speculating. Or perhaps they are also eating other foods which are protective against moderate salt intake, allowing more of it to be excreted than absorbed.

Either way it's very interesting to me :-)

What I would like to see is a study on foods, rather than ingredients to get a better picture. Because humans don't usually eat individual minerals, and combinations of minerals seem to act differently in the body.

I guess what it's all saying though is if you are healthy, then 3-6g of salt is fine, but once you are at risk of CVD you need to back off in order to reverse the damage. But CVD is of course not the only disease people need to be careful about (although it is the #1 we should be worrying about), but salt also feeds various cancers etc.

Trump Threatens Comey, Gives Russia Class. Info: Closer Look

RFlagg says...

They can, because all this reporting, is fake news. All of it. He says it is. Fox says it is. Their church tells them it is. So all this bad stuff about Trump is just a libtard media feeding a bunch of brain dead idiots who believe this stuff.

Now of course all of who actually know how to vet information and the like, know that the opposite is true and that we are in a scary situation, unlike we've ever seen before. The barest hint of this sort of stuff was enough for them to shout "lock her up" about Hillary, but here they are just "fake news!" and continue to believe he's one of the greatest Presidents ever.

It's like they don't get any of it. It isn't firing Comey was bad, it was the timing. Had he waited until after the investigation was over, then it would have been fine, if not great.

Yes, he's allowed to reveal any classified information he wants, though he did complain, during his campaign, about how we can't have somebody in the Whitehouse who can't keep a secret... It's the fact that this goes to the Russians, an enemy of the state at the moment, and the day after he fires Comey, and the fact we were asked not to give up this information, and even our closest allies didn't have it... but it's okay, because he says it is okay and Fox says it is okay, and those are the only truth out there, CNN, and all the major networks are lying and manipulating us according to those on the right.

I'm willing to let the Comey memo go, until it is proven to be true or not, as right now it is more speculation than else, but if it is true, and the Republican Congress refuses to act against Trump for Obstruction of Justice charges... sadly, that bit of news didn't slip until after they recorded this episode.

Fairbs said:

I can't think of the sifters name (maybe bobnight), but anyway, I would like to know how anyone can continue to defend trump; I've heard you can't argue country over part because Republicans believe party is country which kind of makes sense in why trump still has support; I'd also like to know what you'd say if Obama did half of the crap that the amateur trump has pulled.

sen al franken brilliantly connects the dots on russia

enoch says...

@heropsycho
here here..we need a special prosecutor.
i have been fairly reticent jump on board during this whole media circus, not because i am a trump fan,but because i saw no evidence, just conjecture and speculation.which i felt more politically motivated than anything.

now to be honest, there STILL is no HARD evidence, but the circumstantial and political machinations of the trump administration has become increasingly suspect.reminiscent to the nixon administration during the watergate scandal.

could this all just be an innocent mistake, from a bumbling president and an inept staff?

sure..that is a possibility, but with the mounting evidence, and the trump administration continually evading and obfuscating and in some instances, outright blocking any inquiry into the russian connections?

yeah,we need a special prosecutor.

noam chomsky denounces democrats russian hysteria

enoch says...

@newtboy
gonna have to disagree with ya there mate.

not so much on the speculation in regards to trump involvement,or some kind of capitulation with russia.there quite possibly be some co-ordination between the kremlin and the trump administration.trumps alleged ties with putin may all be true, but until i see some actual evidence, that is all it will ever be;speculation.

and i think chomsky's criticism is a valid one.
the "russia russia russia" drum beating is reminiscent of the republicans and their meth-induced media barrage of "benghazi benghazi benghazi",and even after their precious political whipping tool had been debunked, they STILL beat that drum.

and of course it is hypocritical of the US government to cry about political election interference! america has been interfering with other, sovereign countries democratic elections for decades!

because here in murica' we like our allies to be either be run by despotic leaders,or rigid theocracies, because democracies are hard to manipulate and control.can't be bribing an entire citizenry now can we? we like our foreign allies like we like our meat, juicy and tender and easy pickings.

now i am not here to defend putin.the man is a brutal authoritarian, who may appear to some as a russian patriot, but i just see a ruthless and saavy political player who appeases the only constituency that matters to him.the russian oligarchs, and they OWN that fucking joint.

but it was NATO who began to encroach on russian borders, not the other way around.in fact,as early as the 80's we began that encroachment.we lied to gorbachev, who was removed as president in shame,to be replaced by yeltsin.who was america's pick for their own little tool of the kremlin.

russia's military build-up has been a direct response to our ever-increasing wars of aggression in the middle east.putin has stated so publicly.

russia's biggest export is oil and natural gas,and russia pretty much is the sole provider for all of europe.with our wars in the middle east, and now qatar aggressively seeking to push through their own oil and gas pipeline to sell to europe.(what?you thought yemen and syria were about civil wars and terrorists?).

what did you THINK russia was going to do?
sit back and let their only major export be challenged?

and now that trump, like the buffoon he is,publicly stated that if the baltic states are not willing to pay their fair share towards NATO,then they will be removed.opening the door for putin.

poor latvia...

but lets waste all this time on "russia russia russia",while ignoring the larger implications of a fucking world war.

did russia manipulate US elections?
possibly..probably..
was the trump administration complicit?
possibly..probably..

is their any evidence beside speculation, and coincidence?
nope.

chomsky makes a valid point.

Ahoy's Iconic Arms S3E6: P90.

MilkmanDan says...

The first time I remember learning anything about a (fictionalized) version of this weapon was in Goldeneye for N64. But I remembered it (known as the RC-P90) having an 80 round capacity in that game.

That didn't set off any alarms for me, but an interesting note was made here:
The FN P90 only holds 50 rounds in its magazine. It is speculated that the RC-P90's 80 magazine is actually a mistake due to directly giving the RC-P90 0x50 (that is, 80 in hexadecimal) bullets rather than 0x32 (50 in decimal).

Kind of a funny quirk for a CS nerd like me. Get your hex right, programmers!
