Kid Warps To Secret Level
"LUKE
Well, I didn't...
The princess grabs Luke's gun and fires at a small grate in
the wall next to Han, almost frying him.
HAN
What the hell are you doing?
LEIA
Somebody has to save our skins. Into
the garbage chute, wise guy.
She jumps through the narrow opening as Han and Chewbacca
look on in amazement. Chewbacca sniffs the garbage chute and
says something.
HAN
Get in there you big furry oaf! I
don't care what you smell! Get in
there and don't worry about it.
Han gives him a kick and the Wookiee disappears into the
tiny opening. Luke and Han continue firing as they work their
way toward the opening."
I grew up in the Westboro Baptist Church.
Spoiler Alert - there is no escaping eternal death, no matter what your redeemer of choice might say third hand. Everything has to end. No green pastures, no eternal smell of grandma's cookies you remember as a child, no eternal torture for child molesters, no eternal bliss or eternal suffering, nothing.
I have accepted that truth into my heart and will have everlasting death.
....Knowing that people all around them are headed towards eternal death, and keeping the only way to escape it to themselves?.....
Horrible Conditions in Dent County Jail
My opinion may be unpopular too, but I see a room full of people who aren't going anywhere, and if they really wanted to improve their condition then a little elbow grease can clean that place right up for about $15. Hell, throw in a few cans of paint/supplies for another $100.
Oh, and how about this novel idea: don't like what jail looks/smells/feels like? How about making sure you do whatever it takes to NOT go back. Its a jail, not a boarding house for indigent children who cannot fend for themselves.
Yeah, I just don't have much of a bleeding heart for the repeat criminal. Maybe we can save this type of jail for the multiple-time repeat customers and keep the jails that are barely above livable for the first timers.
This "Bearcat'" Smells Like Popcorn
Now you've got me wondering what her idea is of how popcorn smells too...
Lady, your idea of a cat's face, and my idea of a cat's face, differ.

What We Know about Pot in 2017
They should have less risk. They don't have carcinogenic chemicals added to make them stay lit or preserve them, and they aren't inhaled (by those who know how to smoke them).
That doesn't mean they're safe, as you mentioned. I think oral and throat cancers, while still a risk, are more likely with cigarettes because of the extra chemicals.
You are right, there's very little data about cigar risks. It would be silly to pretend they don't have risks, though.
I would note that I've seen people publicly harass cigarette smokers, then come tell me how good my cigar smells. I've also never had someone complain about my cigar smoke, but heard it often back when I smoked cigarettes.
I had never heard it claimed that cigars pose less/different cancer risks than cigarettes.
Google search provides mixed (as you might expect) results.
Cancer.gov, the Mayo Clinic, and WebMD all seem to suggest that cigar smokers in general tend to have lower rates of lung cancer than cigarette smokers (because they generally don't inhale, which I didn't know), but higher than non-smokers. And they have comparable or possibly higher rates of other cancers (oral, esophageal ... pancreatic) as compared to cigarette smokers.
Several results suggest that there is less data about cigars, results aren't statistically significant, etc. etc. and that they believe that cigars are much safer than cigarettes, if not entirely safe. But frankly, the pages I see (in a cursory search that I don't really have a personal stake in) promoting that view don't seem as ... trustworthy to me as the Mayo Clinic, or Healthcare Triage videos like this one (that list references right in the video).
No holier-than-thou attitude intended. ...Although I can say that I'm personally very glad I never acquired a taste for tobacco products of any kind. And a very low interest in alcohol consumption -- I go months on up to a year+ between drinks of booze without ever missing it. I sometimes avoid social situations because of smoke, which I suppose is a downside. But on the other hand, I'm enough of an introvert that avoiding social situations is probably something I'd be doing anyway... So at the very least I have more money to waste on other things since I'm not a smoker or much of a drinker.
RT -- Chris Hedges on Media, Russia and Intelligence
@newtboy
you misunderstood.
respectable investigative journalists gain that respect by being consistent with their reporting.
chris hedges is such a journalist.
but,by your metric, him being on RT negates that respect.now this is an assumption on my part, but i am using your words to come to that assumed conclusion.you have yet to agree or disagree with what chris hedges is saying, choosing instead to attack the medium in which he is saying it.this is your right,i just happen to disagree with you on this matter.
i refer back to one of my original comments, and a point i tried (and i guess failed?) to reiterate:discernment is the key.
so in a sense..yes..it is our responsibility to do our due diligence to vette the veracity of an investigative reporter.
those "reporters" who shill for either the democrats or republicans reveal themselves as the whores they are fairly quickly.
demagogues can almost be instantly identified due to their constant appeals to emotion.(keith olbermans new youtube channel from GQ "the resistance" comes to mind).
and reporters who are simply bad or lazy are quickly revealed as well.by other reporters.
let's take @bcglorf review of chomsky, and how chomsky is singular in his constant criticism of american foreign policy and asks the question "why can't he,just for once, speak on the positives that america has done in the world,or speculate on what could have happened had american not intervened in third world country A or B".(paraphrased)
now this is not an entirely unfair question, and in chomsky's books..he does address the very specifics that bcglorf would like to see chomsky address, but in lectures you are lucky to get a sentence in regards to such subjects.
but notice that while bcglorf would like to see chomsky speak in more broad terms,he never once questions the veracity of the details chomsky is laying down.
do you know why?
because chomsky does his homework, and backs up everything he says.
bcglorf respects chomsky for this, while simultaneously wishing he changed the channel once in awhile.
bcglorf utilized discernment to come to the conclusion that chomsky is a worthy,if infuriating,read/listen.
i do not mean to be speaking for Bc,and maybe i am missing the mark by a long shot using him as an example (if i did, please forgive Bc).
but my basic point is that we ALL discriminate and discern using our own subjective tools, our experiences and ultimately our understandings.
the problem here, and it is the underlying message on this thread,is confirmation bias.
we all know about this, and this election cycle REALLY brought this up to the forefront.
what i find interesting, and always makes me giggle,is how people will point to the "mainstream media" as an outlet for:propaganda, fake news, biased and slanted news ..but..it is NEVER the news THEY consume.the news THEY consume is hard hitting journalism.
so when i see people dismiss a piece that may happen to be on a questionable outlet..i laugh..because MOST outlets are ALL questionable.
so yes my friend,it is up to us to discern what is valid and what is bullshit.secondary sources help.concrete, trackable sources help and discussing and talking with one another is probably the greatest help of all.
but if you reside in an echo chamber, and everybody is just smelling each other farts.then some information may come as a shock.
my faith dictates my politics.
i am a dissident,and a radical.
the dynamic is always "power vs powerlessness",and i am always on the side of the powerless.
so it should be no surprise that on my list are people such as chomsky or hedges.
because they criticize power.
Girls and Big Giant Python Snakes!!
3 girls getting hot and sweaty handling giant snakes...and now they all smell like pee? Sounds pretty dirty to me....just how I like it.
If your New Year's resolution is to quit smoking...
I realized one day that cigarettes were interfering with how many bong hits I could take....I quit in that moment and never had another.
This passive aggressive coercion is quite distasteful to me. I hate people who do this, pretend the smoke is bothering them when in reality it's the fact that someone is smoking that bothers them....not the smoke. What's hilarious is to see those kinds of people try to publicly shame a cigarette smoker with their fake coughing and death stares, then I'll spark a cigar and they'll not say a word or even tell me it smells great.
I used to ask people who complain about cigarettes (usually a fake health complaint) if they drive...then I would offer to sit in a closet smoking if they sit in their car with a hose from the tailpipe going in the window and see who cracks first. No one ever took me up on the challenge.
Eroding Electoral Confidence | Full Frontal with Samantha Be
I have to strongly disagree with her last points on the recounts in Wisconsin etc - if there's an appearance that the results are in any way suspect, a recount is entirely reasonable. It's quite well established that many of the electronic voting machines in use throughout the country are in fact vulnerable to tampering, and if we can document any instances of that actually occurring that's only for the good. We *shouldn't* have full faith in election results when they're susceptible to manipulation, and should audit them regularly (either when things smell funny or just randomly).
Aftermath November 2016

i would like to say a few things.
first,
i would personally like to welcome my anti-war democrats back to the party.it appears it only took voting in the worlds most successful used car salesmen and professional internet troll to get you fuckers to get off the bench.
saved a seat for ya!../pats seat
second,
while i can admire this woman's passion and self righteous indignation,i refuse to accept her moral condescension, because for all her flowery and bombastic condemnation of anyone who voted for trump was a vote for:racism, sexism, bigotry and hatred, and implies she has deep understanding the motivations for voting trump.
i submit that she does not.
i submit that she is a hypocrite.
i submit that while she decries her anger and outrage at the moral ineptitude of her fellow americans for failing to rebuke an obviously unqualified candidate, who openly used racist and sexist rhetoric to appeal to our most base fears and anxieties.
she was missing the main point.the main reason.
so while she stood upon her ivory tower aghast at the horror unfolding in front of her on election night, she STILL did not get it.
she watched in horror as her fellow americans ignored trumps obvious racism.
ignored the sexism.
ignored the proto-fascist verbiage.
ignored the narcissism and petty tantrums.
ignored pretty much everything leading an election night into the surreal and absurd.
because she didn't get it,and obviously STILL doesn't get it.
because voting trump was not a vote for:racism, sexism, bigotry or hatred.
a vote for trump was a "fuck you" vote.
a trump vote was a "no confidence" vote.
now of course there are those who are racists, and sexist and are most certainly bigots and hateful fuckheads..of course.
and there are those who are diehard rightwing republicans...of course.
but the majority of those who voted trump are NOT those people.the majority of americans have..for forty fucking years..tried to utilize a system to counter correct the political establishment only to get fucked in the ass by the very same system they were trying to correct.
you can go look for yourselves.it looks like a clock pendulum.swinging dem and then back to repub and then back again.
and what did the american people get?
nothing.
nada.
zip.
zilch.
they got:
expanding wars.
stagnant wages and jobs.
higher taxes.
higher living costs.
drone strikes and secret prisons.
a two tiered justice system.
private prisons.
debt peonage.
and a government bought and paid for by:big banks, wall street, military industrial complex and multi-national corporations.
all this while the american middle class fell off the map into poverty and working poor.
so while those who voted trump may be politically unsophisticated, they are most certainly not dumb.
they got it.
and they finally understood that the system that they had been raised to believe was "by the people, for the people" no longer functioned at that capacity.
so the very same people who voted for obama and his "hope and change" campaign.
voted trump.
the people who had become politically engaged by the message that sanders brought to the table, either stayed home,or voted trump.
this was a protest vote.
plain and simple.
your fellow americans just nuked the system.
because it was the SYSTEM that was corrupt and no longer was functioning.
i find their choice just as terrifying as you do,but i have to admire the audacity to just nuke the entire system.
but can you really blame them?
they tried for decades to course correct, but the two party dictatorship had a stranglehold, and they served not 'we the people" but money and power.so our fellow americans utilized their one power given to them by the constitution.
and the hypocrisy here is that when bush was in office the left was losing their shit, and rightly so,but when obama was in office all we heard was crickets....and a disturbing silence from the left.(i realize this is an over generalization.there of course was some noise coming from the left).
and this woman is so out of touch that she is convinced that voting trump was a social issue matter?
i am sorry sweetheart, but some things are just not that simple, and condescending from your ivory tower, prattling on about social constructs as if you have been given some moral authority to judge others, only serves to solidify your own tiny and secluded echo chamber.where everybody can smell their own farts and pat themselves on the back for how clever they are, without ever having to critically examine ones own position.
which just means that she will never..ever..get it.
that is my .02 anyways.
take it for what it is worth.
John Oliver - New Email Probe
If true then Americans need to find out what the heck is going on with Trump.
That being said:
Id take a Russian love more than Huma Abedin , the right hand of Hillary Clinton whose parents are fronts to Muslim terrorist groups.
YET again divert from Hillary's self inflected wounds.
No more fake whores can saver her.
More more main stream media can saver her.
The bitch is done.
WIKILEAKS: Podesta to Hillary’s Aide, ‘She’s Acting Like A RETARD – She Smells Like Boiled Cabbage, Urine And FARTS’
Okay... Clinton did some questionable things.
Let's talk about Trump's e-mails
Evidence pointed to a Putin - Trump connection before, but now it's a lock.
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/10/was_a_server_registered_to_the_trump_organization_communicating_with_russia.html
This article is long to explain all the technical details, but the upshot is that one of Putin's closest allies runs Alfa Bank. Alfa Bank has been communicating in secret with Trump during the course of the campaign. Traffic peaks during pivotal campaign moments (conventions, debates, scandals etc.) The server was set up in a way that one computer expert said was the way organized crime does it when two different groups want to collaborate in secret. Once the first findings were published on Reddit, the Trump server suddenly went offline.
A week later, a new Trump server came online and the very first communication from the Internet to that new server was from Alfa Bank. This cannot be random, the Trump server has an unpublished address, so only someone who knew the exact address could contact that server.
I think it's very clear Trump is receiving instructions from Moscow. Probably due to his huge debt load. Draw your own conclusions.
@bobknight33 do you REALLY want a Russian agent in the White House? That's the sort of rhetoric you applied to Clinton, but it turns out it's actually TRUE in Trump's case.
