Keanu Reeves Tactical 3 gun shooting

Fairbs says...

I'm not particularly surprised that he has a harem of hotties; he is a movie star; not very talented in my book, but that doesn't slow down a lot of them

All the super attractive women creeped me out. Too many of them. Keanu doesn't know any normal looking women? Creep. Pee. (I'm a cis woman, by the way, for those who don't know.)

Bad driver gets 'accidentally' PIT-ed

jmd says...

Except that you CLEARLY see after heavily accelerating to pass 2 cars he hits his brakes and slows down when the other guys blinker goes on.

Still, continuing to pass when he put his signal on wasn't the best move.

Officer Brandishing Weapon On ATV Motorist In North Pole

newtboy says...

Unintelligible...try again.

No, no matter what the crime, unless you are being directly threatened with attack, you may not play cop. If you block a road and accost strangers, pretending to be a cop when you aren't, they can probably legally kill you to escape the armed kidnapping, and you can go to prison for decades. Call the cops and take photos of them, don't pretend to be a cop.

The color that probably matters most in this instance is blue, because the cops ignored the guards multiple crimes and went after the victim....as I said. Lighten up, a bare mention of race is not a declaration of racism.

Yes, you have that part right, the cop impersonator is the criminal here. The ATV riders weren't even going fast, and certainly were no danger to him or his family, and even if they were, he's 100% out of line to block, attack, then kidnap them. He's not a cop, so can't arrest people....just like you. Before you try saying citizens arrests are a thing, improper citizens arrest with a gun is kidnapping, not that he performed a citizens arrest in the first place, he impersonated a police officer.

If he had not blocked the road, not touched them, and not pulled a gun on them, but instead waived them down and asked them to slow down, that's proper, and a good start before calling REAL cops. What he did is at LEAST 3 major felonies including impersonating an officer, kidnapping, and using a firearm in the commission of another felony....a good prosecutor could probably charge him with more....if he weren't in 'law enforcement' I'm pretty sure they would.

Yea hes down have the right to stop them and yell at them for running up and and down the street.

If you had hooligans running up and down you street on ATVs then yes stop them ant talk to them and indicate your position of dislike.

Color has nothing to do with it . To you everything is raciest. A white man walking a black dog is raciest. lighten up.

There should not be charges against walker ( atv rider) but against Brower ( want to be cop)

YIKES!

When road rage goes terribly wrong

vil says...

I see a portion of deservedness there, though I would not go so far as to actually personally wish death as punishment upon the poor guy. But should something bad have happened to him by accident it would have come about in a small part because of his own wrong decision, thus not entirely undeservedly. I am glad he was lucky.

Stepping on the gas was just a bad reaction. Driving around the problem or slowing down is safer and more likely to succeed in scenarios where trouble unfolds ahead of you on the road. Accelerating through the scene of an accident increases risk for everyone involved.

Biker cut off but lands safely... ish

newtboy says...

That makes sense....only if you don't understand carpool lanes.
They are designed for that lane to safely move much faster than traffic...that's why they exist at all. They have zones where you may enter or leave, nowhere else for exactly this reason. If you would counter that it's only safe if people follow the rules of the road, I'll counter that that is always the case on any road at any speed.

Some places have 80 mph limits...but they don't have carpool lanes there. Even at 65, slower than normal unimpeded traffic, he would have wrecked imo. Slowing down to the speed of non-carpool lane traffic defeats the purpose of the special, separate lane and is actually blocking traffic.

I make no assertion about any other video he posted, only this one situation. His being an asshole or not has no bearing this time.

notarobot said:

Just because you have the right of way does not mean you are safe.

If you pause at the 12-second mark you can see the biker is going 80mph. Is the speed limit 80mph? Leading up to the accident, he's passing other cars like they are standing still. Going much faster (or slower) than traffic around you always increases your risk.

He's traveling too quick for conditions, or even for his own reactions and brakes.

Reddit thread about him: https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/6cj4i8/motorcycle_got_cut_off_on_la_freeway/dhv4h38/

The accident is the fault of the car that pulled out, but this biker could have avoided the accident altogether if he had slowed down to comparable speeds of the traffic around him.

But what would he do that for? He's a youtube asshole who took down other videos of him being an asshole who now has one of his vids go viral to the point that he makes money off it. Insurance will cover the repairs to his bike.

Look at how he drives: https://streamable.com/jewxu

He's a cocky asshole who instigates problems on the road.

So yeah, the car that pulled in front is technically at fault. That doesn't make this guy some kind of angel. It's possible he consciously allowed himself to hit the car....

I don't want to imply that this was the motorcyclists fault, because it wasn't, but that was a shit-ass reaction time on the emergency braking. You can see him roll off the throttle and grab the brake as soon as he sees the car moving over, which is good, but then it's clear the car is moving into the carpool lane and... nothing... he just keeps rolling forward...

At 0:20.5 he clearly identifies the threat, by 0:21.0 the car is in his lane, he's off the throttle, and his fingers are on the front brake, and then... he doesn't do anything... just keeps rolling at the same speed... rolling... rolling... he doesn't squeeze the front brake until well over a second and like 100 feet later around 0:22.25 when he's barely 20 feet behind the car, and even then he doesn't brake particularly hard at all.

I moto-commute on this same road and shit like this happens every single day, it happens so often that you should expect it to happen every time and react accordingly. You just have to be way better prepared for it than this. There was plenty of time for him to simply brake and avoid that guy. Plenty.

Technically!?!
The bike was in the carpool lane, where travelling faster than other traffic is expected, that's why the lane exists. He was not going inordinately fast, traffic in the fast lane was going pretty slow.
The car crossed two lanes and a double yellow line without looking or matching traffic speed in the lane(s) it was entering. Any one of those mistakes is enough to make this technically the car's fault, all 3 together leaves no question and removes the technicality completely.

100% the car's fault. Not even 1% the bike's fault. He did absolutely nothing wrong.

French Crosswalk PSA

StukaFox says...

So I just got back from Paris.

If you think traffic in the US is insane, try getting from one side of the city to the other. There's no traffic flow; everyone just goes when they want. And peds are the worst. They will step out on the street whenever, instead of waiting for the "green man" (the 'ok to cross' light), and damned whoever is driving on the road at the moment.

The first day I was there, I saw the body of a struck Frenchman laying in the middle of the road by Ecole' Militaire (sp). In America, this would have drawn a huge crowd. In Paris, no one even slowed down.

Don't get me started with bikes in Amsterdam, either.

Angry pedestrian gets instant karma

oritteropo says...

No, he stopped at the right place. From the gesturing I think the pedestrian thought he was coming in a bit hot and should slow down. Obviously that's not how the approach looked on the dashcam...

So what was he angry about in the first place. The car drives up to a red light and stops at the stop line. Is there something about Australian traffic rules I don't understand?

Can we clean these comments out somehow? (Wtf Talk Post)

eric3579 says...

I see @lucky760 redacted the comments but for me some video pages still won't display the comment sections and the ones that do are ridiculously slow to open. Work in progress? Anywhere those comments were are still slowing down the loading of the comments and some won't load at all.

Can anyone see the comments on this video? They won't come up for me (one of a handful of videos that won't show the comments). https://videosift.com/video/Roger-Waters-Performs-On-The-Late-Show-with-Stephen-Colbert

Millennial Home Buyer

newtboy says...

You have got to be kidding me! That's some old bullshit, turning public roads into toll roads. How do you get to own one, because it sounds like a sweet plum.

I grew up in Houston, and that traffic was insane in the early 80's and only got worse. More than once I rode my bike completely across town, +-15 miles, faster than my mom could drive.
I love where I live. Rush hour means slowing down to near the speed limit...we simply don't have traffic except at accidents and road work. It's bliss.

Mordhaus said:

I live about 5 miles inside the city limits, just enough to get taxed good and proper. I told my wife that once she retires from UT we are moving out asap. I'd move now but the traffic is horrible and they keep trying to fix it by adding more buses and screwing around with light rail that only goes to a few places in the city. That and turning roads we already paid for into toll roads.

It's not on par with really bad traffic like in New York or LA, but for a town this size it is brutal. Traffic in Houston moves better than it does here.

Destroying A Classic Morgan

eric3579 says...

I don't think he even saw him till he was in the road in front of him, or did not expect that he would pull into his lane when most cars would have stopped in the middle. I think he tried to slow down as his brake lights were on, but didnt have time at all to hardly slow the car. i assume he hit his brakes and horn about the same time.

moonsammy said:

It didn't really look like the other car even attempted to slow down, but there's not a whole lot of time to judge that I suppose.

Tesla Predicts a 2 Car Crash Ahead of Driver

Mekanikal says...

I agree. The car in front didn't even slow down or apply the brakes. I'll bet they weren't even paying attention. This shows the Tesla knew what was going on ahead.

nock said:

I think this is correct, but it's impressive that it was tracking both the car immediately in front of it as well as the car in front of that car.
