Wow, I can't believe they didn't have the one where Homer takes Bart's place jumping the canyon on a skateboard. He missed it, crashed to the bottom, then the roped him out on a stretcher, hitting his head all the way up, then the ambulance crashed and he was ejected out the back, back into the canyon.

In http://wtkr.com/2013/08/01/video-shows-virginia-state-police-car-hitting-skateboarder/ you can see a less-edited version of the video. The cop did not casually drive off after intentionally running the guy over. Rather he was making an illegal u-turn and wasn't paying attention. He got out to see if the skater was injured.

So not police brutality. At worst police reckless endangerment. More generously a stupid mistake.

(and I am certainly not someone who will excuse police aggression)

Yeah, it's hard to really tell and the vid is only thirty seconds long but certainly trying to diagnose the severity of an injury is a little more insane than accepting the fact that a little kid (or anyone for that matter) can potentially be seriously injured after getting hit by a person six times their size riding a skateboard.
