Using a laser and night vision to find a missing child

Using a laser and night vision to find a missing child

noseeem says...

Got lost in a forest as a kid. Scared and sad. But a kind fox found me and led me out to the nearest road. Walked it until a search team member drove up. Didn't tell them about the fox. Didn't tell anyone 'til now.

Although, now, I don't follow Fox because I am not lost or scared.

How times have changed.

Let's talk about Trump going to the hospital....

-Including race as a determining factor in your admission score
as a 'liberal' ideal
This IS happening broadly, link to how and arguments for why it is 'good'
https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2019/10/03/harvard-beat-an-effort-end-its-use-race-factor-admissions-what-will-supreme-court-do/
https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/race/news/2019/10/01/471085/5-reasons-support-affirmative-action-college-admissions/

-Enforcement of a race based "day of absence" where based on your race you were to be 'kicked off' campus for the day
Specifically the day of absence was at evergreen:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evergreen_State_College#2017_protests
Similarly reverse racist attitudes though are common enough, like chasing out a student journalist here for simply covering an event:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kVGtqp7usw

-"deplatforming" people for having dissenting opinions
Jordan Peterson is the biggest example, but my local uni has also banned pro-life student clubs too, so maybe I'm a little Canada biased on this?

-The entire circle-jerk of intersectionalism:
---"whiteness" needs to be defined as something inherently negative
Here's the Standford course on it if you or your parents wanna enrol:
https://explorecourses.stanford.edu/search?view=catalog&filter-coursestatus-Active=on&page=0&catalog=&q=CSRE+32SI%3A+Whiteness&collapse=

---"Racism" needs to redefined as not simply racial prejudice, but racial prejudice PLUS power(you know, so only white people can be racist under the new definition)
Likewise offered at Stanford, unless this is the lone critical race theory course that doesn't champion the above prejudice+power definition.
https://law.stanford.edu/courses/critical-race-theory/

---"systemic racism" getting defined as anything with unequal outcomes, so if asian students do too well in math it must mean the system is favouring them and we need to step in

And I'm out of time,

but seriously I'm a little baffled this was remotely controversial? Identity politics is a game the left has been playing at HARD for at minimum the decades since Affirmative Action was launched. The notion that the idea would eventually get national level push back should have been easy to see coming.

Shopping While Black in Beverly Hills

Mordhaus says...

Here in Austin, when Covid isn't around, you can go downtown to the campus area and see almost everyone jaywalking. I've even come close to hitting a few idiots that had their face buried in their phone and stepped out almost in front of me while I was doing 30.

Like you said, it's never enforced unless the cops want to either send a message or want an excuse to do a 'stop and search'.

kir_mokum said:

i mean, both experience are absolutely ridiculous and indicative of how broken policing in the US is. j-walking is one of those laws that's only enforced so as to fuck with people.

Just read that article. Then google searched and found a link to a different article that had a drawing of the guy and his position in the cave. Now this will haunt me for a very long time.

Reminds me of the story of Nutty Putty Cave in Utah, which was closed after a 6'1" caver became lodged in a crevice upside-down and died as his bodily fluids redistributed to his head and lungs. They sealed him in there after he died.

Been meaning to ask, how's that search for any of the "known cases" of Democrats committing vote fraud in the last decade?

You've had months to supply just one, you've proven incapable, even crying that I didn't go find one for you, offering up red herring cut and pastes about mail in voting having problems now, etc.

Still not a single case. What gives, you said they were known. It should be nothing for you to just Google and have 5 to show me from liberal news sites, but zip.

Still not ready to admit you were....mistaken with certitude let's call it?

No but You are swift on you feet for all research until I Say your wrong then you are suddenly dumb to search.

newtboy said:

Pretty hilarious of you to act like it's my responsibility to research your ridiculous claims when you can't. You can't find proof of something that didn't happen after two months of looking, why would I waste my time?

Democrats committing vote frauds doesn't get mentioned on the news because it's nonsense, not factual, didn't happen. Republicans committing vote fraud does make the news however, because you people just won't stop no matter how many get caught.

What you offered finally was nothing but evidence of Republicans trying to suppress the vote by making vote by mail, the ONLY safe voting possible, unreliable. If enough mail in votes to change the results are disqualified for being late, expect the election to be invalidated by the courts, and civil unrest until a new election is held.

Inside Nancy Pelosi’s District:

newtboy says...

SF has this problem so bad because it's such a successful city. Cost of living is at least double the national average, you're lucky to find a small one bedroom for $3500 a month there.
Because the weather is mild year round, transients never move on to warmer climates, but more show up in spring.
Housing problems there are largely caused by rising housing costs, unaffordable to some working 3 jobs. Many are lured in because you get more panhandling money when the average income is >$100000. I recall a few being investigated in the 90's who seemed to make well over $100000 a year by begging, one was estimated at $250000+. Thousands are working homeless, living in their cars because they don't earn enough to even share an apartment. Most make more than the national average. Keep in mind, $190000 is middle class in San Francisco.

This has been an issue in San Francisco and the bay in general at least since the early 80's when i lived there....but it has gotten worse as the population and rent increased but low income housing didn't.
Now Trump has said there will be no low income housing (which he thinks means all blacks) in suburbs, directing infinitely more homeless and low income citizens to cities in search of a possible roof over their heads...and in the same breath he blames Democrats for the homeless problems in cities.

As mentioned above, there is no republican plan to deal with homeless. None. They seem to think if you deny them services and food they evaporate. It doesn't work that way.

Pelosi doesn't control San Francisco, she represents it in the house. Derp.

What a dishonest tool. 1/2 the nation's homeless?! Bullshit. San Francisco has around 10000, America has around 500000. It's just more bullshit and *lies @bobknight33, not philosophy, news, or talks, and the only thing to learn from it is massive levels of misinformation.

Woman kicked off flight for not wearing a mask

newtboy says...

Boarding late only makes sense until others follow suit, then it becomes a contest for the last to board, and only if you have no carry on (or one that fits under seat).
It's also quite selfish, you're going to walk past and breathe on all those seated passengers just like you tried to avoid for yourself...and you would make others wait for the privilege.
If you follow directions and board in order from the back of the plane front, no one walks past those already seated....and no one has to wait for row 5 to get settled before row 23-6 can board and sit.
Also, no one has to wait for the last to board guy in row 23 to search through 15 full overhead compartments, leaning over and breathing over 15 rows of passengers while checking each bin before having their carry on checked anyway causing further delay.

cloudballoon said:

Boarding as late as possible makes sense. The problem is finding carry on overhead storage if you need them.

Lowest risk seat selection-wise and I'm afraid the longer the flight, the increased chance of the wider spread of the virus will negates the advantage initially gained.

The air filtration system is not in question, problem is the people breathing right next to and all around you during the entire flight. Their air doesn't go through the filtration system yet. When people going in/out (myself included) for the washroom, they act as the "spoon" when stir your drink: they mixes the air around as they walk to spread virus/germs out along their paths.

I think they do search at least on the days reserved for local high schools....if they still do that.
They do have signs telling you no weapons at all are allowed, and they wouldn't be happy.

Free Speech Considered Support for Nazism

bcglorf says...

Not that I'm lazy, but I don't care enough to read every single article you linked. I read the couple that seemed most promising, and then I went and did some searches for more evidence, I haven't found better evidence than what I mentioned.

Do you have a specific link, or one of those above, that clearly lays out the intent of gallery or any other evidence against the video guy than, he dared suggest the gallery was covered under free speech?

newtboy said:

He is a vocal supporter of the gallery who has repeatedly gone on TV to defend the gallery holding white power events, a gallery who's intent is to legitimize Nazism and far right racist ideology through art and lectures. To me, that's Nazi figurehead.

The gallery leaked the identity of artists who exposed its activities to the far-right neo-Nazi website, Amerika.
This makes them not just a place that allows Nazis a platform, but an active member.

This info and more is in the links provided. Read it please.

Free Speech Considered Support for Nazism

bcglorf says...

Please enlighten me then. The only evidence I have seen so far that the guy in the video is a "well known Nazi figurehead" is your statement of such, and the crowd in the video accusing him of it. The articles I've looked up and an admittedly short/half hearted google search have turned up no evidence either save for his appearance again in the video. Do you have a better link or reference for me?

newtboy said:

Context matters. Truth matters.

Knowing now that he's a well known Nazi figurehead, a spokesman for the pro Nazi gallery being protested, do you see how the title and description are both utter bullshit lies, a 100% misrepresentation of the truth here?

He is not called a Nazi for supporting free speech. That's a blatant, disgusting, Nazi sympathizing lie he hoped you would repeat. I wish you were ashamed of that, but you just defend it.

His sentiment on his sign aren't the unacceptable sentiments he's removed for, they are the cover for the Nazism he espouses and supports, and the red herring he hoped would distract you from them...It worked, even though you know the truth it still works. *facepalm.

I'm ashamed for you that you got suckered into defending Nazis because for two minutes he managed to appear reasonable and you're willing to completely ignore context, just like he planned.

I'm more ashamed for you that you bought it so deeply that you repeated the bullshit, totally false descriptions without considering you are being duped by a nazi into supporting their cause.

I'm shocked they admitted it was so they could impound and illegally search legally parked cars....they're really getting bold these days.
