Katie Porter On IRS Direct File
Wish she was running for President.
As a kid I'd hate to have her as my mother. I wouldn't be able to play with matches or hop trains or walk across the railroad bridge over the Delaware river or throw snowballs at moving cars or skip catechism or shoot girls in class with paper clips and rubber bands just to get their attention...

I bought an Exoskeleton to wield Giant Anime Swords
good idea putting that rubber band projectile straight in front of your head!
Lethal Injections: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)
That's crazy. Anyone selling one that's used for it's designed purpose would be guilty of assisting suicide both criminally and civilly. Besides, who needs a kit to get a plastic bag, rubber band, and short hose?
That said, two tanks does seem like overkill in that situation....but then again, why be frugal at that point? If I was going to gas myself, I would rather use acetylene....go out with a bang!
The kits are real. I just added the Hallmark cards to lighten up the mood.

Heat Shrink Self-Solder Butt Splice Connectors
Telstra could use a few billion of them to fix their copper network. Should work better than chewing gum, rubber bands, twist ties, zip ties and silicone.
Effective guardrail is effective.
edit: I'm an idiot. See @eric3579's comment.
How so? First up, a passenger car wouldn't be travelling nearly as fast (or at least, you'd hope not).
Second, many modern passenger cars have side impact beams and curtain airbags.
You'd probably get injured, but I think you'd have to be pretty unlucky to be "maimed or killed".
And that guardrail is functioning exactly as designed. The connections to the ground are designed to break, but the rail itself acts like a giant rubber band. *engineering
In a passenger car that drop would probably have maimed or killed the occupants. In a race car they probably would have been alright.

A refrigerator that works by stretching rubber bands
When I was a kid I used to stretch and relax a rubber band across my forehead and feel the change in temperature. (We did weird things to pass the time/boredom in the pre-internet era).
Building under construction suddenly collapses
Reminds me of Idiocracy.
I guess they forgot to tie giant rubber bands around the two halves to keep them standing together.
You Are Cutting Your Cake Wrong
You don't have to push it back together with your hands. You can slide a spatula underneath to lift and shift.
I think it would still be an improvement without the help of a rubber band.
How a nuclear reactor works - told simply
I still don't get how they can cut all those rubber bands continuously while underwater at 300 C
How to See Without Needing Your Glasses
Works better outside in daylight than indoors in the dark...
Try a paper with two holes - you can even fit it with a rubber band!
