Prometheus International Launch Trailer

Enzoblue says...

What I hope Ridley realizes is that the uniqueness of the original was it's silence. Those moments where the crew were just hanging out in character, or searching around the ship for a cat, or hiding in cold quiet fear, with nothing but maybe the slight hum of the ship. It was nerve wrackingly silent at times and made you squirm.

Prometheus - Full Trailer!

When I saw the first teaser I was absolutely thrilled. Now, after seeing the full trailer doubts begin to creep in.
I keep remembering that Ridley Scott not only directed Alien and Blade Runner, but also gave us Kingdom Of Heavens, Hannibal, 1492.....and G.I.Jane.

The other thing that does not sit right with this trailer is the old (and stupid) aliens inspired/founded/visited/created all the ancient civilizations on earthe story that
a) remind me too much of Alianes vs. Predators and
b) does simply not fit in with the tone of Alien/s/³/4.

I keep my fingers crossed for a great movie.

Reminds me of the trailer for 'Moon'... you come away with the feeling that you've basically watched the movie, but in that case the journey and the characters and the concept were so well done that the general plot twists were icing on the cake. Hopefully 'Prometheus' will be similar in that regard.

Beautiful indeed, but I have one serious gripe (with this and most Hollywood trailers): what's with revealing the whole story in the trailer? Can't they leave us a bit of mystery?

Given how coy and secretive Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof were in the Q&A session yesterday regarding plot, I think there's plenty of surprises, twists and unexpected sub-plots waiting in the film.

Meh...just another monster flick with a huge FX budget and crappy story.

Stay home and play XBox, then.

Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, et al... I'll take my chances that this is gonna be yet another incredible movie from Ridley Scott. I don't go out to see a lot of movies nowadays, but once in a while one comes along that begs to be seen on the big screen. This ain't no "Transformers" or "Twilight" tripe. Can't wait to see it.

Guy Pearce is the best. Otherwise, I have no idea what most of you people are on about. Is this some kind of cult book being made into a film, that has you guys shitting all over something that looks pretty good?

Weyland-Yutani was the company Ripley worked for in the Alien movies. They were the shadow company responsible for terraforming the planet where the Aliens were discovered (by Humans, anyways) and the creation of the android Bishop. They also played some smaller role in the shitty AVP/Predator movies.

This video is a promo for the movie Prometheus, a prequel of sorts to the Alien franchise. It's going to be pants creaming.

I agree. I think this was a very well delivered monologue. I wouldn't call it hammy. I wouldn't say the special effects held it back. I'm intrigued about the story and the character.

A real TED talk would be titled "The Impact of Technology on Society in the 21st Century: From the Android phone to Androids, and Beyond" and would be given by an unassuming but compelling professor of some sort, rather than a businessman intent on making himself a physical manifestation of pure hubris.
But, good idea for a viral marketing campaign.

They're positioning him like a Steve Jobs or Craig Venter: the guys who can make the future work years before anyone else can figure it out.

Ah, a soulless sociopath.

(Jobs, not Venter. They really don't belong in the same sentence or thought process.)
