ANTIFA Returns To Berkeley

newtboy says...

Not that any of this is acceptable, but it's funny how your video omits the part where the armed and armored (clubs, helmets and full body pads) right wingers violently pushed into the counter protest crowd, starting the violence you now decry, and that this video edits to look one sided.

At this point, it's more than probable that nothing will get Trump reelected, but if the right is successful painting these anarchist asshats as liberals, and by extension liberals as these asshats, it could get another Trump like feculent demagogue elected.
That's why I think it's important to denounce them (antifa) at every opportunity. Fascists against fascism are still fascists, just incredibly stupid ones. They don't stand for what I think the left is about, and I certainly don't stand with them.

I agree, horrifyingly, this is apparently escalating towards gunplay. I'm not at all sure which side will shoot first. Don't fool yourself into thinking the left and the anarchists don't have guns too, though, or that totally non political citizens won't take up arms against rampaging Nazis and fascists (hopefully fascists left and right). Just something to consider when you're standing next to one hoping a gunfight breaks out.

2 things come to mind.

1 This shit will get Trump re elected.
2 Just a matter of time when guns are pulled in self defense.

Ok 3 things
3 Alex Jones is a wack job.

Liberal Redneck - Trumpcare

<3 years before he's a lame duck and not allowed to submit proposals....and only 1 &1/2 before a new congress ends his rubber stamp legislature.
There's no way he gets reelected after screwing his voters and ruining our standing internationally....Unless they DO try another Clinton nomination.

Wow a leader in news information.. CNN will be picking him up soon.

More BS from the left. Typical -- 8 more years of leftest lies and Chelsea Clinton will be in office and save the day.

I agree with item 4 Get the money out.

I would be for flat amount of tax dollars to politicians for them to use for reelections ..

Also after public service then no more than 2 years as a lobbyist and then you out for good. Go back home and take a normal job. no more political service.

The Republicans' Inspiring Climate Change Message

I get angry when people blame just the legislators. Over 90% incumbant reelection rate - the people have spoken.

Yep, these people are fucking idiots and they're going to drag the rest of us down with them.

Once again, the US electorate has proved it is too fucking stupid for democracy.

Republican Idaho Governor "Debate"

They show a couple of guys in suits in this collection of clips. One of them is Butch Otter, the current governor running for reelection. I don't know who the other "real" candidate is.

Elizabeth Warren: what would it take to shut down a big bank

Drachen_Jager says...

Why can't other politicians see the political value in behaving like Warren? She got elected on her convictions, and I sure hope she'll get re-elected. I'm with Bryce, I hope she's the next president, and I sure hope there are enough Americans left who still have the sense to see how this is the way things SHOULD be.

EVERY member of Senate and Congress should be this aggressive about their convictions. I don't even care if they're anti-abortion loons, Libertarians, or hard-line conservatives. Why can't they stand up and speak clearly to their convictions the way she does? Are they all so scared? Or don't they have real convictions, so they just flow with the current and do the minimum it takes to get reelected?

20 States File Petitions To Secede From USA

sixshot says...

>> ^pyloricvalve:

Sorry I don't get it. What's wrong with this idea? If states could secede you could have a more diverse set of regimes and people could choose more the style of government they prefer by moving state... It seems like quite a good idea. I'm not an American so maybe I'm missing something but why is there animosity about people suggesting the idea? I don't mean to provoke. I'm just curious...

The majority of the people creating and signing these petitions are the ones who are butt-hurt over the re-election of Obama. As it was already pointed out in the video, a lot of the states involved in the petition to secede are in the south and below the Mason-Dixon line, which were part of the confederacy during the US Civil War. Also of note is that, though correct me if I am wrong, majority of the states involved are also states where the electoral votes went to Romney.

The biggest issue I have with people creating the secession petitions is the absurdity of it, especially in today's world where countries are eyeballing us more than ever. It is a given now that the US isn't much of a country to look up to as a "leader." Also added is how some of the folks in the middle-east hate our guts. Timing is a major factor when a group of people want their state to secede from the country. This would raise an eyebrow if this was proposed when the country was actually stable, financially and militarily. But we're not living in such times.

The people wanting this fail to realize just how much of a bad idea this is if they do not think of the consequences if such secession were to happen. Hypothetically, the whole country would be in ruins, and invites those with extreme agendas to infiltrate the new and old country. It doesn't take a genius to see that no country can ever transition smoothly from one form to another, as evident with people revolt and overthrowing leaderships.

When GWBush got reelected, I was personally disappointed. But that doesn't mean I should just throw my arms up in anger and demand that so-and-so state secede from the country. No, I lived with it and dealt with it. Those idiots should do the same, instead of bickering over a mere election that didn't go their way. Rather than trying to make the whole situation worse, adapt and deal with it. In 4 years, the whole country will either be better off than now, worse, or be the same. And by then, we can judge the POTUS if he was good enough to turn the country around after the shitty mess GWBush left us.

Even if Obama has to look at the petitions (the ones that passed the minimum signature requirement), I highly doubt he'll give it a second to think it over. He'll glance over it and then throw it into the trash right there. I can only hope that the people in the Senate and in the House are smart enough to see the absurdity in them.

Obama: Romney's 1 Point Plan

Yogi says...

>> ^bobknight33:

Government sets the policies that makes it desirable to ship jobs over seas, for the rich to pay less tax rate that others.

They had the chance to make change and squander their opportunity.
Democrat voters hoped for change.
All voters are left with is change in their pockets.
Obama is an utter failure.

No he's a complete success. What was he supposed to do? Help the financial industry, those who got him elected. They got billions and they're doing better than ever, so you're wrong he's done good and that's why he's gotten unprecedented funding for his reelection.

Spain is in serious trouble because it spends too much money, money it does not have. The Spaniards are rioting over ginormous tax HIKES, which is what American taxocrats continue to demand at every turn.
Obama has already brought market chaos and uncertainty. However you want to polish his crown jewel, the turd known as Obamacare, the results are/will be huge tax hikes, reduction in services, continuing skyrocketing medical costs, and STILL, by their own admission, 30 million without health insurance.
Even if reelected, Obama is a fool and will be forgotten as a symptom of a larger malaise that began a century ago.
At this point, no president is capable of stopping out-of-control government spending. President Romney will only buy us a little more time before imminent revolution; it won't be an MTV version of revolution either, with underwear models with little smudges of black on their multiculural cheeks beating back government stormtroopers with the force of love. It's going to be blood up and over your knees, cities leveled, hell on earth.
Hey, sometimes it's necessary.

QM, Pennypacker et al... They will respond to this in one of two ways:
1- "That's what these Spanish OWS losers get! go get a job!"
2- "This is what Obama is going to bring to America!"
Both are equally repulsive, and fictions of their imagination.

If the Market didn't like Obama, why does it support him soo much monetarily? You need to do your homework man, it's the Rich against guys like us, join the proper side.

There are no winners in this sham of an election, they are both the same in terms of policy, they both suck.

I don't disagree with that. I don't like where we tend to put the blame though, on the politicians and such rather than on ourselves. It's our own damned fault.

TV News used to do some investigative journalism, and it used to be a loss leader for the networks and done for a public service to earn them the right to the frequencies they were offered free of charge. But with 60 minutes and others of the sort the networks learned they could turn a profit and examine more personal issues then with Crossfire and others of the sort they lost even the public service requirements which they had on broadcast.

From Vince Foster murder allegations to blowjobs, 911 conspiracy theories and Swiftboating, death panels, foreign born, communist, socialist, we took it all in and never changed the channel or turned off the TV, and it DID shift our votes and opinions.

The fault is with us. We bought all of the deregulation arguments which allowed our current media and corporate system, we kept electing people who would do it some more even as the impact of our prior choices should have been getting more clear, and we kept responding to and watching ever more extreme and confrontational "news" shows and ads. Any politician who even tried to play nice, honest, and so on was simply steamrolled over and we never bothered to notice. And now we complain that we got the system we asked for.

No argument at all, both parties and the whole system these days sucks. And it's our own damned fault. We watched the shows, we voted them in, then reelected them, we echoed every conspiracy theory and accusation, and we never demanded better. We had every opportunity to see it coming and people have been warning us about it for years. We just couldn't be bothered to care.
