Fast and the Furious: Australia Drift

Bob Barker gets exasperated

Payback says...

Saw only once where 3 guesses were used. Bam. Bam. Bam.

My favourite however was a woman who wasted 9 guesses on the first two prizes, but then nailed the car in her last one.

This was close, but I know I've seen someone win the car on guess #10 with only one try.

I love watching TPIR and this is one of the most frustrating games to watch, because it is actually one of the easiest to win.

The prices ALWAYS end in zero. It's the people who don't know that who drive you crazy.

1929 - Interviews With Elderly People Throughout The US

ulysses1904 says...

I enjoyed this. Coincidentally this weekend I was Googling my grandfather's name. Found a newspaper entry in Cooperstown, NY in January 1933 where it listed my grandparents spending an evening playing bridge at someone's house with a dozen other couples. Listed all their names and who won a prize that evening. It was about 5 months before my dad was born, reminded me of how different things were back then. Made me wish I was a fly on the wall.

How one tweet can ruin your life - Jon Ronson

ulysses1904 says...

Makes me think of the guy who videotaped the woman at the Chick-Fil-A drive thru, figuring he would be lauded as a hero for challenging someone who worked for that company. And it backfired and he became unemployed because of his "principles", which was pretty much what he expected of that woman. And then he played the victim. But he brought it on himself, the woman who tweeted about AIDS in Africa is a whole other story.

Now that everyone has the power to self-publish and broadcast just about anything to the entire world I'm seeing the power that it unleashes in others. I posted a comment on an unsolicited news posting in my FB feed, regarding the Pulitzer Prize picture of the black woman holding out her hands to be handcuffed by the police in riot gear. And everyone in the comment section is going predictably teary-eyed and goose pimply over it, with the usual cliches of iconic, defining, inspiring, uplifting, etc.

And I wrote "don't be so easily manipulated, it's stagey and predictable and Kardashians use this shit to sell sugar water." or something like that. My point being that we have gone from prize-winning pictures of the Viet Nam war (e.g.) to the whole process being co-opted by pop culture, like everything and anything else. Of course I got bombarded with claims of racism and people who pitied my soul. And some were musing on whether to try to track down my employer. I deleted my comment, this world has gotten too fucking weird for me.

Watch, Mom!

No. Well, I was trying to throw balls into one of the three holes (not hers, you perverts) to get tickets and free prizes.

Autonomous Racing Car Full Lap | Devbot | Berlin 2017

lucky760 says...

I'll totally dig on a future sport where cars all race themselves. They should also have robots to handle pit stops as well.

The prize goes to whoever has the best performing software and hardware.

Racist is what you do, not what you say.

C-note says...

A common tactic employed by those who wish to suppress the truth is to become dismissive, devalue and attempt to marginalize the individual. It works as effective propaganda on the masses who need to believe atrocities and genocide could not possibly take place on american soil. But hey! texas released a text book that called slaves hard workers. Some could argue that is more insulting then using the n-word.

No court cases found? was an attempt even made? Let's make it the next X Prize.

Repeating the same bullshit over and over doesn't do a thing to respond to the issues that have been pointed out by everyone else in the discussion.

It does, however, provide enough evidence to convince me that you're simply a troll, not the worst we've seen, but not a particularly advanced one either. I'm done here, and I'd recommend everyone simply stop feeding him.

Fascinating History Of Wonder Woman: kaptainkristian

Pranking in Japan

Stormsinger says...

The biggest question that Japanese television leaves in my head is, why would anyone ever want to appear in one? It's not like they offer great prizes to the winners. The only prize I've ever seen is not being humiliated. And you can have that experience simply by staying home, or doing pretty much anything else.

the lie that is the liberal politician-chris hedges

enoch says...

@Janus
you are not alone, many here on the sift tend to lean in your direction, however,i find this to be misplaced skepticism.

when it comes to russian internal policies, and actions abroad i tend to agree with the assertion that RT leans towards russian state "message of the day".similar to how CNN,MSNBC and FOX play that game.

but when it comes to being critical of the USA,and considering just who chris hedges is as a journalist and writer.i find the criticism un-warranted.

that is just my opinion, you are free to disagree of course.

though i would like to point out that many media outlets that have produced fantastic content, with exceptional journalists, are under siege.TeLeSUR and aljazeera english are in the crapper due to funding, and small, independent outlets are also struggling to compete with the megalithic corporate media to bring critical analysis in these dangerous times.

so while i agree that a venue such as RT should be approached with a modicum of skepticism,i also feel very strongly that we should not throw the baby out with the bath water.

chris hedges has been a extremely vocal critic of power, corruption and the devastating affects of neoliberalism.pulitzer prize winning author and journalist.

so while this may be on on RT,it is chris hedges that has credit with me.he has proven to be a man of integrity.
