What, I Am Legend owns the idea of zombie-like creatures in a post-apocalyptic setting? I can see the connection now that you mention it, but I didn't get an I Am Legend vibe from this at all. I think it looks awesome.

But this scenario would most likely have to play out in Africa or some post apocalyptic wasteland that people seem to wish would come around so they could shoot people on a whim.

So, I should just let convicted felon illegal immigrants with a vast criminal history just walk into my house and take whatever they want, in the presence of my wife and four children? What fucking planet do you live on? There are many people out there that would kill you and anyone in your house for $50.
The right to defend your property is an American right from the very beginning of this country. It isn't about property in the material sense....who cares about that? It is property in the sense that my wife and kids needs to feel safe and secure in their own home in their own beds.
In this case, I would have watched them from inside my home, called 911 and waited. If they headed toward my house, you had better believe that there would be one of my several guns in my hand ready to stop them from entering my house. If they did actually enter, they would get one warning and then they would get shot. Period.
If you don't live in America, I don't expect you to understand, but we have a lot of bad people here with bigger guns and no issue at all with murdering an entire family, kids and all, for an Xbox.

Game play looks really dull to me , also animation looks really smooth but in a really artaficail way allot of these modern shooters just dont make sense. personally I ether want something like serous sam where its basically gemotray wars but in first person , or i want something thats like HL1 a mixture of shooting but within the context of level based puzzles and a subtly delivered story.
the other thing is that although technically i'm sure the engine is fantastic but visually the art direction is tired. kind of how u have allot of cinema where it all just looks the same. Im board of post apocalyptic stuff in games especially in action games where there is so much noise on the screen in the form of pipes bushes random crap that it just make splaying the game a strain. (fallout , Gears of war , Unreal 3 , Bulit storm , borderlands) ( although borderlands is not as bad as they did a more cartoony thing with it so it stands out more)
I much prefer worlds that are ultra clean like mirrors edge or portal but whats fantastic is if u have a world that is for the most part clean but then have small cracks in it or aspects that are of contrast to that , that way u get the best of both worlds and the game dosent just feal like everything is coated in mud. with any luck portal 2 might have got this right.

The gaming industry is a gargantuan bandwagon train, almost to the same extent as the movie industry. A while ago the fad was WWII shooters, then it was sandbox games, particularly GTA-style (think Saints Row, Just Cause, Prototype, Infamous ...), now you could say it's arcadey modern day shooters (MW2, Medal of Honor), and post-apocalyptic games (Fallout, Borderlands, Rage). Here's hoping after Deus Ex 3 comes out, it will be cyberpunk.
