Whistleblower Exposes Far Right Justices Corruption

luxintenebris jokingly says...

but then...

- Jan. 6 investigations
- stolen state secrets
- nefarious voting legislation
- Oath Keepers membership list

...all of those are BIG stories too.

covering all the Republican corruption sprees, is a bit like trying to get through a russian novel in a week.

the moment the pre-release of the Planned Parenthood v. Casey judgement BOTH sides of the political spectrum questioned if it was a conservative judge that did it. made FAR more sense that it would come from the right than the left. (notice how the investigation has seemly gone the way of the term WMD?)

fits.

incredibly creditable.

(unless you're 'right' minded. then you can't believe a man of the cloth. but then, even Jesus* hung around w/a motley crew.)

we might be weeks away from Blotto Biff being found, drunk, in a fountain w/a staffer and/or Coat hanger Amy being photo'd in an S&M dungeon. (Jerry Farwell, Jr in the background) - then, maybe then - it being kinky af, Fox would have to cover it (they love slime, even if it's slime on THEIR slime).

'til then you did get 3 votes. bob must have voted twice. out of habit.

If Planned Parenthood disappeared the private sector would expand to encompass the services lost.

All the services shown in the video can be found elsewhere with little fuss.

Unlocked - A World With and Without Planned Parenthood

RFlagg says...

Many, if not most, that oppose places like Planned Parenthood, and oppose most methods of birth control, oppose it, because they think it encourages promiscuity. Sex is of course limited only to marriage in their world view, which is why heavy red states have abstinence only education... which tends to result in them having the highest teen and repeat teen pregnancy rates. And some would argue that the only function of sex is for procreation. The Bible even forbid pulling out (Gen. 38:8–10), though one could argue that was for one guy in particular. Anyhow, basically they see pregnancy as part of God's design and purpose for sex. The fact it has physical pleasures, is a gift from God for the married couple.

In the case of IUDs, they believe the old myth that the IUD causes abortions, that it lowers the chance that a fertilized egg will implant. The reality is that it doesn't at all, at least for modern, non-copper clad IUDs. Once upon a time, the old copper ones did have a very small impact on the chance a fertilized egg could implant, and even modern ones that have far less copper cladding on a wire around it, can have a very very small chance of decreasing implantation. But those ones aren't really used that often. Basically, the IUD is the most effective form of birth control, but it is opposed to stereotypes and lies. Modern IUDs work to prevent fertilization in the first place, via the hormones in them and design, if an egg is fertilized, it still has the same chance of implantation... however the chance of an egg being fertilized is very low, as sperm mobility is seriously hurt, and of course the woman's body lowers egg release too.

Plan B also doesn't stop implantation, or if it does, it is near modern copper clad wire IUDs (and more recent evidence shows it is likely even far less than that). It prevents the women's body from releasing an egg... if an egg is released already, it won't do any good. However, once again, facts don't matter to those on the right, and they promote it as a morning after abortion pill.

Of course, a healthy young woman, who's optimally fertile, only 30-40% of her fertilized eggs will implant, meaning that God Himself aborts about 60-70% of babies (since they define it as a full baby and human life at conception) in optimally fertile women. Now.. you have to add to that, natural miscarriages for other reasons... and the odds of having a baby really are against you naturally. It is insanity.

I don't think he is; he wants the typical Republican things like trickle down economics, he wants to defund Planned Parenthood; he opposes trade deals which sadly isn't either D or R anymore; it's still a progressive issue though so that's about all I can agree with him on; I feel like he basically wants to line the pockets of rich people; nothing new there for the R's; plus I'm pretty sure he's going to start a war which is very Republican; cowards dodge wars themselves, but put our young men in harms way

What's A Stone Baby? The Smithsonian tells us.

Nephelimdream jokingly says...

Upon learning of this news, authorities in Texas are now trying to pass legislation to outlaw any stone babies past the first trimester. The bill starts by defunding Planned Parenthood and teaching abstinence in Kindergarten. The GOP also hopes to pass a law forcing any woman that has a stone baby to legally bury that baby as a cornerstone to the wall with Mexico.

Don't fool yourself into thinking this is the last time we'll see this series of events, expect planned parenthood clinics and mosques to be hit repeatedly in the next 4 years based on conspiracy theories.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz Resigns, Sanders Fans React

newtboy says...

Thank goodness I'm a white male, so the least in the crosshairs of a Trump presidency I can be without also being a billionaire.
That said, I think you're mostly right...assuming he doesn't abuse the powers of the presidency...but it is a near certainty that he will abuse them.
Legally, he can do little, properly even less domestically, but since when does Trump follow the rules.
Let's just look at Texas, who made a clearly illegal law designed to close planned parenthood clinics, knowing full well it would be struck down, but it had the effect they wanted of closing those clinics in the interim, and they won't be re-opening. Expect Trump to use that, and other underhanded tactics to do things the president "can't" do, knowing that if his rule is struck down, it will already have done it's job. I think he'll be more damaging than you do both because the Republicans are going to back him AND because he'll just go around congress when they won't.
I realized yesterday that one plan they undoubtedly have is, as soon as he's president, his children will start illegally taking people's property by force to expand their empire, and Trump will pardon them for the crimes they commit in the thefts. I expect the Trumps to actually be multi billionaires by the end of his presidency (assuming the dollar is still worth anything), not just claim it. There's no way that family doesn't see this as a way to make money.

Yeah, its going to be bad. I am hoping though, that the way the goverment is set up, it will mitigate Trump's impact. Realistically, beyond fucking up treaties and foreign relations, the President doesn't have enough power to totally sink us. We've had some absolutely horrible ones in the past and managed so far, although Buchanan did sort of help set up the basis for the Civil War.

YouTube Video channels or persons that "Grind Your Gears" (Internet Talk Post)

Mordhaus says...

I don't have a particular channel or video style I hate, mostly the only ones that grind my gears are those that try to distort the truth. Like those ones where they cut out specific parts of the interview with the planned parenthood lady so that they could say they were harvesting babies on purpose so they could sell them.

Carly Fiorina Sold Baby Parts For Profit

newtboy says...

Absolutely hilarious hypocrisy!
Could it be that the Republicans were outraged at Planned Parenthood for 'selling' baby body parts too cheaply? Apparently it's OK to do if you make a huge profit, but not OK if you do it for free to advance science.

pundits refuse to call oregon militia terrorists

RFlagg says...

Exactly @newtboy...

These people are promising massive violence to defend people who were found guilty of violating the law, who purposely set fire to a forest... "They didn't mean for it to get out of control." Yeah, doesn't matter. I don't understand how they can't comprehend that. How it is an overreach of government to try them via a court of law, found guilty and then sentenced to the minimum?

I like how Fox spins it about how it would be if it were blacks, but I think a better example would be if they were Muslim. If they were Muslim Fox and the Republicans would all be screaming about how they are Radicalized Islamic Terrorist. Trump would undoubtedly be calling for Muslim Americans to be put into Internment Camps "temporarily" "while we can figure out what is going on with these people". He'd then say once we carefully vetted them, we'd let them go, but keep track of them, those we can't vet, we'd kick out... and his supporters would fall over themselves agreeing. They'd be mad at any Democrat or media who doesn't use the term "Radicalized Islamic Terrorist" rather than "Jihadist" or "Radicalized Jihadist".

Yet if somebody called these people for what they are, which is Radicalized Christian Terrorist, they'd blow a gasket. They'd say that their faith has nothing to do with it, though the leader said he was led by God to do this. Or they'd argue that the term can't apply here, and can't apply to the guy who murdered people at the Planned Parenthood clinic. "These people are freedom fighters, not terrorist." They are standing against the oppressive power of the Obama administration, and probably point out his middle name again.

So... we have people, driven by God and faith to promise violence if their political ends aren't met... Sounds like terrorism to me. Oh... and that particular God and faith is Christianity. So Radicalized Christian Terrorism. Pure and simple... unless we need to drop the term Radicalized if this is what Christianity is about now... though I'm fairly sure the Jesus of the Bible would object, then again he'd object to pretty much everything the political right stands for, but that's a rant I've done tons of times here.

Crazy thing is, if the government uses force, then the political right and media will feel justified, and say "see, we are being repressed". They've learned from ISIL and the rest, the best way to radicalize people is to make them fear they are being oppressed. ISIL drives up terror attacks, sold as freedom fighting to their people, which result on people turning against Islam as a whole, which is their publicly stated goal, and when that happens it makes it easier to recruit more and more people to their cause. So Radicalized Christian Terror groups like this are using the same tactics, by forcing situations where they are put down by force. Great recruitment tool, and the brain dead follow lock step into falling for it. ISIL is the bad guy (and they are, no question) and they are the good guy for doing the exact same thing? They are both evil. Both misdirected. Both missing the point we are all in this together. One world. One humanity.

I wish the so called Left Liberal Media would stop calling them militants and start using the term Radicalized Christian Terrorist as that is more apt. Of course they still call Vaccine Deniers and Climate Change Deniers, Skeptics, which they aren't. So no hope for America anytime soon.
