Sorry, no: there's an overlap, the two are not mutually exclusive. VS's been through this before, but I just don't have the time to look for that discussion atm; trailers were declared a sub-category of *commercial.

In reply to this comment by JiggaJonson:
It's not like a commercial you'd see on TV. Trailers are separate entities where if you had the two words side by side in an attempt to describe this video people would 100% of the time pick trailer.

In reply to this comment by EDD:
Looks completely awesome. Plus, the last time Carrey mixed dark comedy and hearbreak we got Eternal Sunshine.

btw, a trailer = *commercial

The 49 Films That Will Define 2010 (Cinema Talk Post)

xxovercastxx says...

I don't keep track of what's going on in the movies these days, so the vast majority of these are completely new to me.

Shutter Island looks like it could be an interesting story and probably very well acted. It seems it might fall prey to being a predictible rehash of overdone ideas and cheesy "Boo!" cinematography.

I'll keep an eye open for Black Death. Hopefully it's shot more like LoTR and less like 300. Hopefully it can rise above being another medieval action movie riding the coat tails of LoTR.

A Couple of Dicks... yeah, no thanks.

Phillip Morris seems like another brainless comedy. Pass.

I hate Iron Man. The end.

Robin Hood... I'll have to see more. The idea of another remake of this story doesn't thrill me. I'd have been more interested by the original concept, probably.

Predators... Seriously? Didn't we run this far enough into the ground 19 years ago with Predator 2, nevermind the AvP disasters?

Inception... need more info.

Based solely on the cast, The Expendables seems, well, expendable.

Tron Legacy... against my better judgment, I'm looking forward to this. It will almost certainly be fresh and unique even if it's not good.

Hereafter, Mute... need more info.

Paul... Doesn't look like my kinda thing.

... To see if I fit into a car designed for a normal body

Crash Test Dummies "The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead"

Painfully Honest and Epic Mobile Home Commercial

MilkmanDan says...

As a former half-owner of a used mobile home, I find that dude's blunt sales pitch to be refreshing and entertaining at the same time. Your average trailer house "realtor" tries to dress up and distract you from the fact that you're about to buy a decaying particle board and plywood box, with weird hardware (all screws are square head, not phillips or flat, etc.) and a thin aluminum skirting to hide the axles and keep racoons from living under your house (unsuccessfully, in my case).

In spite of those problems, it was a nice place to live and share with a buddy as I was going to college. Cheaper to own and then sell than to rent an apartment for 4+ years, and vastly more comfortable and private than a college dorm building.

Well, you know, you're Obama voters.
Are you enjoying 11% unemployment? Obama couldn't care less about you. The taxocrat War on Prosperity continues...

If you are a US taxpayer, you've spent, personally, $4 978 on the war in Iraq, a country that never posed any threat to your country. Taxocrats? Maybe you should think about why you pay taxes, and how that money is spent. You see, when you start shit that costs 700 billion dollars, somebody has got to pay for it. People who arent complete jackass cowboys from Texas worry about shit like that, you know, balance the budget and such. If you spent your money wisely, you could actually end up paying less taxes. Other countries manage to provide free, universal healthcare to all their citizens while spending LESS on healthcare that your government does. Think about it: Less money spent, better service provided. If you are still a big fan of the insurance industry, you could still buy yourself health insurance and get treated in private hospitals exclusively. Nobody does that tho, because the public system WORKS.
