I see a lot of pedestrians that think that because they have the right of way that they can stop in front of cars so that they can play a game of Parcheesi, finish a text, or maybe just enjoy the sweet smell of exhaust while they idle on by. Well, you seem to be absolutely certain you know exactly where the front of his car is relative to the crosswalk markings. However, due to foreshortening, it's impossible to tell precisely where he's stopped. I'll admit that it does look like he's crossed the stop line a bit (but even that is not certain) but it seems clear to me that he hasn't crossed the nearest line of the crosswalk. He also has come to a complete stop before the pedestrian has reached the centre of the road so your characterization of this stop as being illegal and dangerous is rather hyperbolic.

Failing to avoid getting hit by a car as a pedestrian may or may not be the pedestrian's fault. I could give you literally thousands of examples where it is not the pedestrian's fault (and I bet the statistics show this to be true the majority of the time) but I'll let you Google them yourself.

I sure as hell hope you're a spring chicken because if someone veers off the road at a high enough speed directed at you, you're going to have a hard time getting out of the way.

BTW, I'll let my mates who are still paramedics know to tell any pedestrians injured by cars (or family thereof for the deceased ones) that it was their fault, even when it wasn't.
