Reuters Tracks Down Terrorists Police Called Untraceable

newtboy says...

For @bobknight33
The reason there aren’t more right wing terrorists in prison for life yet is the police are complicit and don’t investigate right wing terrorists unless they actually shoot police, like the false flag operations by Boogaloo boys and others trying to blame BLM for murdering police and setting off bombs and Molotov cocktails. They were responsible for more and more severe crimes under false flags than all of BLM and it’s supporters combined.
Police didn’t care until they started shooting police.

We paid for them, why do commercial news operations get exclusive access? Maybe I want to see traffic now, not what it was during the morning news. What could it hurt? It wouldn’t cost a dime, just allow access.

Is Your Privacy An Illusion? (Taking on Big Tech)

newtboy says...

There is no such thing as internet privacy. It’s a total myth. You are tracked anywhere you surf, and there’s no publicly available encryption the government can’t crack, usually they have back doors so they don’t even have to.

Of course, all social media sites are funded by selling your information. What, you thought they’re free?!

Do people not remember Carnivore? It collected and read EVERY email and text sent in the US in secret in the 90’s. Are people so dumb they think this stopped post 9/11?

I have no cell phone, no social media, and I always click “do not share my personal information “, required on any commercial site operating in California….and I still have no illusions that my data is private. Want to stay private, don’t give out your information to anyone.

From the guy who said Jan 6 was a false flag operation by BLM, I would be worried if you agreed. True Americans care that there was an attempted overthrow of the democratically elected government….morons like you think Benghazi was more criminal even though fewer died and there was no attempted coup there, or government involvement in the attack, unlike Jan 6 that was apparently directed minute by minute directly from Trump’s lazy boy in front of his TV.

There’s zero fear, Bobby. Trump could not win again…he only won because the DNC is so ridiculously crooked and inept that they dove Bernie’s voters to the dark side. Now that sentient people see him as the narcissistic con man he’s always been, and the consequences of electing him, even the American voter isn’t stupid enough to repeat that horrific mistake.

Lol….sinking you say? By what metric? Citations needed for any claim from you…..citations from reputable sources not being spoofed by .col websites in Columbia either.

Trump was and is an unmitigated disaster that cost America tens of trillions and over 600000 lives, our unity, our international standing, and our national sanity….what’s Biden cost us….be specific, give citations. Biden isn’t my first choice, but he’s acceptable, a ray of illuminating sunshine after the blindness from staring directly into the sun that came before.

Thank for the more fake news. I enjoy the laugh. Bull shit from the left Just to continue to smear Trump in hopes he does not run in 2024. Sad to see you fall for this. But hey Democrats need gullible people.

Democrats are so afraid that they can stop dwelling on this fake story, Especially since Biden admin is sinking faster than the Titanic.

Biden is a disaster and you know it.

Are you aware that most Republicans in DC are now legally barred from running for office under the constitution?

14th amendment clause 3- No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Now you understand why all Republicans voted against investigating The Jan 6 insurrection, the rebellion against the election. Sadly for them, that act is giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the state, so now they don’t even have to be implicated directly, their vote to not investigate invalidates them as candidates. Expect this to come up against Green next year.

Uh oh….the FEC, the election regulatory agency that Trump intentionally under staffed to the point that it couldn’t start an investigation much less conduct one has now been ordered to investigate the Trump campaign and the NRA that used shell companies to give Trump $25 million in 2016, a massive campaign donation limit violation, and used those shell companies to coordinate with the Trump campaign (and many other Republicans). Apparently this case was submitted to them years ago, but they didn’t have the legally required number of appointees to operate, and the few they had were Trump appointees not interested in investigating any charges against Republicans with a backlog of over 450 cases…so the FEC did nothing. Now they have been ordered by a judge to start the investigation in 30 days. Not going to go well for your people, they all played fast and loose under Trump, and there’s a new sheriff in town now.

Ruh -roe!

Trump’s all encompassing NDAs are invalid. As usual, he overreached, tried to control everything his subordinates said forever. It forced them to, using the judges words, “never say anything negative about Trump, his family, his businesses, or his administration for life”. The judge called it unenforceable, and since he made them all sign the same NDA, they’re all void. He can still sue any who talk, assuming he can find a lawyer dumb enough to work for him, but he’ll lose.

Expect tons of new revelations about how he operates, none good. Of course, he’ll attack any who does as a piece of shit, just like over half of his “best people” he had working for him….running the government while he watched tv. Crazy how many of them he now says are horrible, inept, self centered, disloyal morons who couldn’t do their jobs….almost like he’s projecting his estimation of himself on any ex employee.

Wasn’t his claim to fame that he hires only the best people? Doesn’t that make him an abject failure at the one thing he seemed to do well…hiring competent people to run his affairs?

Expect another round of massive lawsuits to come shortly, lawsuits he can’t defend against because no lawyer will go near him, they like to be paid for their work and Trump is famous for stiffing everyone but especially lawyers.

Edit: Also, he’s off the Forbes 400….not that he ever belonged there. They originally took his worthless word for how much he was worth….a number exponentially larger than the one he gave the IRS, btw. Now even he can’t lie enough to appear to be in the richest 400 people in America. Better, if he had divested from his properties instead of using his office to illicitly steer business to them (business that stopped after Jan 20 when there was no longer a reason for foreign powers to bribe him by, say, renting out floors in Trump tower that went unused for 4 years, or villas at his golf clubs)….if he had taken his money and invested in S&P 500 he would have made billions instead of losing billions. He’s a horrific businessman.

PFAS: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

newtboy says...

To be fair, most of your complaints were addressed in the piece.

For instance, medical implants, fairly stable, yes, but not in extreme heat like cremation, so as used they’re toxic to the environment despite being considered stable and inert.

The reason to ban them all was also explained, banning one toxic substance at a time means one chemical bond difference and the company can go ahead with Cancer causer 2.0 for a decade until it’s banned for being toxic, and then repeat. It’s how they’ve operated for decades.

I’m fine with outlawing the entire class and putting the onus on the chemical companies to prove any new variants are safe instead of forcing the hamstrung epa to prove they’re unsafe. I also think any company that dumped it into waterways should be instantly and completely forfeited to pay for cleanup. No company has the funds to pay for cleanup, but their assets are at least a start.

I hate it when the uneducated try to explain a complex issue and do a piss poor job of it. Is PFAS a problem? Sure. Are ALL PFAS compounds a problem with regards to their toxicity? No. The small molecule species are problematic because of mobility. The polymeric species are stable as fuck, that's why they were invented and why we use them as seals and barrier layers to isolate corrosive liquids and gases, and why we use them in such things as medical implants. The polymers excel because they are inert and largely unreactive. So - are they all bad? No. Are they all good? No. But it's too late - the fuckwits like Oliver have fueled the Emotional Response bus, and society won't stand for outdated concepts like scientific investigation or rational thought. Eight member countries of the EU are presently on track to restrict or ban all PFAS in any form, sweeping all compounds into the same category with no differentiation between a water soluble perfluorinated molecule like perfluorinated PVME and a one million molecular weight PTFE polymer. If it has a -CF2- moiety in it, it's subject to being banned. Good science doesn't matter any more, the knee-jerk fear mongerers are now making the decisions.

DOPESICK Official Trailer (2021)

luxintenebris jokingly says...

looks like a great movie that might not want to see. having been exposed to this subject matter - hats off to John Oliver btw - it just might bring up the past seething rage again. at least, won't have to fear spoilers.

Pandora's box opened with direct-to-consumer marketing. held it a very bad idea then, and find this - and the Sackler family - a direct result of that bad idea. recall the "Cassandra's" at the time telling that this would - and did - happen. along the same lines when the S&Ls went down. faulty ideology, clear warnings ignored, and what was said to happen, happened. the same folks are still following the same playbook today.

the AMA says it leads to higher drugs prices, EU voted it down for the same reason - using the U.S. as the example, and the operation data of pharmas prove that it is more about sales than safety or R&D. The cost is too high. In currency and lives.

[unless you're in EMT services, sell PDs Narcan, produce black tar, or rehab services - then it's job security]

but hope it's a massive hit.

do for the Sackler name what Stalin, Dahmer, or Manson did for their surname.

What did Reagan think about the right to vote?

luxintenebris says...

I would say really.

As a man, president and his administration...
- ordered an attack on the Brookings Institution
- 13 of the 'president's men' jailed (2 were A.G.s)
- Agnew resigned after allegations of bribery* (as governor) led to a conviction on tax fraud.
- "Townhouse Operation" crime wave itself
- Associated Milk Producers Inc, IT&T...even the Checkers thing foreshadowed all the sketchy 'campaign donations'

...and the Vietnam peace talks affair was in the same league as Eric's dad's 1st impeachment charge ('tho not as president)...if pushed to support 'how bad was bad' remember Nixon put marijuana on the schedule one drug list, essentially to criminalize blacks, was a much much larger crime to humanity. emptied the penny jar and a twenty from the till, if you will.

But I get your point.

[Hardin administration was pretty awful too]

* something his former lawyer said he admitted went on "for a thousand years"

newtboy said:

Not really.
Nixon tried to cover up a crime he wasn’t actually involved in….dumb, criminal, immoral, and wholly unpresidential….but compared to Iran Contra, it’s like he took two pennies from the take a penny cup. Not even the same league.

Denver cops refuse mandatory Covid vaccinations

luxintenebris says...

was gonna post this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5DEGa0_AAo

...but thought it was appropriate in the discussion.

it's a public safety issue. easy to see if one looks at the actual reality of the situation.

Here are a few of the values listed in the Denver Police Department Operations Manual*...

- Integrity: Faithful performance of our duties and always doing the right thing for the right reason
- Accountability: Demonstrating responsibility in all activities
- Respect: Treating others as we would like to be treated
- Customer Service: Exceeding our customers’ expectations

... so if they ask employees in retail to wear masks, factory workers for drug tests, or a hairdresser to pass hygiene training - it's not a stretch to ask a cop to get a vaccine. their own handbook calls for getting vaccinated.

again, public safety.

People have had this type of discussion about lots of things, like washing hands (yes even doctors before operations), smoking cigarettes, or letting excrement flow down busy streets.

Now sometimes it wasnt easy, but if civilizations eventually built sewers and aqueducts maybe we can somehow stop spewing poisonous gasses into the air in large volumes.

Its difficult to find immediate motivation to act, especially for us self entitled pricks, I totally understand. I live over 300 meters above sea-level.

Land of Mine Trailer

psycop says...

These boys neither chose the age of conscription nor to go to war. Given their age and the time in the war, they would have been forcably made to fight. If you had the misfortune to be born then and there, thier fate could be yours.

Being in the German army did not imply being a Nazi, the majority of the German population were victims as well, pointlessly lead to slaughter by monsters.

Those of them that would have survived the fighting ended up here. They didn't feed them. They worked until they died. They expected them to die. They wanted them to die.

The Geneva Conventions were signed in 1929 making this an official war crime if that's important to you. I'd say the law does not define ethics, and I'd be happy to say this is wrong regardless of the treaty.

As for alternatives for mine clearance. I'm not a military expert, but I believe there are techniques, equipment, tools or vehicles that can be used to reduce the risk to operators. Frankly it's besides the point. Just because someone cannot think of a solution they prefer over running a death camp, does not mean they are not free to do so.

If you have the time, I'd recommend watching the film. It's excellent. And as with most things, particularly in times of war, it's complicated.
