Democrats only care about Illegals, not Americans

psycop says...

I honestly don't understand who this is for? This is a website for like, 15 old guys, most of which you already know aren't swayed by this sort of thing.

I suppose it's not much effort really, but it just doesn't seem like an effective way to advance your agenda?

Do you do any offline organizing? Maybe try to meet up with like minded people and try to do something positive in your local area. If people see you are there to solve real problems they will be more likely to pay attention to your point of view.

I feel like you would appreciate some recognition of your position, but I also don't feel like you are very likely to get it here in this way. Maybe it's time to try something different?

Trump Turns Our Military Into Mercenaries

Payback says...

Unfortunately, he's only completely wrong about the first part of his post. Less Santa, more the boogie-man gets replaced by that weird old guy down the block that didn't report he was moving into the neighborhood like the sex predator laws demand.

Much like myself when I believed in Santa Claus.

So cute.

Unboxing w/ Joe Arpaio - Who Is America?

Drachen_Jager says...

While it's all great fun mocking the old guy from Up crossed with Statler and Waldorf, it really doesn't gain anything.

People who hate him and Trump will laugh, people who support them will use it as evidence of the vast media conspiracy.

The real trick is actually getting through to people like him. Make him understand why the things he's done are wrong, why housing immigrants in a tent city without adequate protection and little to no recourse for the crimes committed there (including rape) is illegal. He'd probably just point out that the very fact the men are raping the women in an unregulated tent city goes to show how bad the Hispanic gene pool is, never understanding that any large enough group, regardless of ethnicity, upbringing etc. would commit similar crimes if placed under similar circumstances. Hell he defends his pussy-grabbing President out of the opposite corner of his mouth.

Educate your young people, America. Not just in math and science, but in Philosophy. That's the only way to create a morally advanced society. People shouldn't just judge right and wrong by what they're told, they should have an adequate education to figure it out for themselves. He was told (many times) what he was doing was right, so it doesn't matter that a judge came along and handed him a sentence. He believes he's right, simply because he lacks the mental capacity to understand otherwise.

Isn't that right, @bobknight33 ?

TITANS - Official Trailer - DC Universe

ChaosEngine says...

jesus.... how do they keep fucking this up?

I'm a 40-year-old guy who grew up on DC comics. I have a shelf full of them. There are one or two Marvel titles, but really they were never my thing.

And yet, I've seen nearly every MCU movie and only 2 DCU movies, and only one I actually enjoyed.

FFS WB, this isn't that hard. It's not even like you haven't done it before... just animated.

Batman animated, Justice League, Teen Titans... they all had elements of the "dark and gritty" but they were fun! They certainly weren't an absolute clusterfuck like this nonsense.

Just stop. Please... just give it a rest.

Give it to the animated dept, or the guys who made the Arkham games, anyone but the muppets in charge of this shitshow.

Motorcycle Drives Off Cliff

Fairbs says...

was it brave for him to drive his motorcycle over a cliff at 65?

was it a heroic act for that kid to help the old guy down the escalator? personally I thought that one was borderline racist

Drachen_Jager said:

Sorry, but crawling out for help is not "brave".

Bravery is putting yourself at risk to help other people. Putting yourself through pain in order to survive is mere survival instinct. Most times, bravery is the opposite of survival instinct. People who run up to burning cars to help the occupants out are brave. Soldiers who storm machine gun nests are brave.

That word has been so watered down by the contemporary American need for "heroes" it's becoming meaningless.

64-yr-old man calls out Conor McGregor

RFlagg says...

Calls out who? <goes off to Google...> Oh, some MMA dude, who's apparently taking on Floyd Mayweather soon... isn't Floyd nearly twice this Conner's age? Not that it really matters in boxing.

Anyhow... I can't even do a regular pull up, chin up or any of those things... so props to that old guy.

Harrison Ford: 'I'm the schmuck that landed on the taxiway'

SeesThruYou says...

I trust one 74 year-old guy who can fly a plane a hell of a lot more than the millions of 74 year-olds that can't safely drive a CAR.

Dllem said:

His only other incident in the past 17 years (the crash in Santa Monica) was due to mechanical issues. You could debate whether a 74-year old man in general should be flying solo, which I think is a decent argument. Most pilots retire at age 65.

Free Skates Are Strangely Awesome

AeroMechanical says...

I tried some of these once a few years back. I'm competent if far from talented at riding a skateboard, I'm pretty good at inline skating, but these things I decided after about ten minutes were too dangerous for an 'old' guy like me. There's no way to learn to ride them well without falling down a lot in the process. Not a problem when I was a kid, now: not so much.

In the end, I didn't know what to make of them. They offer no advantage over skateboards or skates and have quite a lot of disadvantages. I guess they're a challenge for its own sake, which is fine since ultimately that's the point since they're not a mode of transportation as skateboards or skates arguably can be.

I agree that you didn't intend to use the click-bait title.
You used the YouTube name - Their title was a click-bait title (unfortunately.)

"British Farmer's Son Shocks Meat Farmer Dad with this video"

---At no point did his son(?), not mentioned in the video, shock his dad.
There was no shocking being done at all. The old guy was not shocked in any way. From the sounds of the poem, the dad wasn't even a meat farmer as he's clearly not a meat eater. Most likely a dairy farmer? It was merely an old guy voicing a cool poem. (which was well done, by the way.) ---

See how the title sensationalizes the video and causes invite to watch a video that clearly doesn't describe the video at all?

Anyway, I was merely inviting you to see the comments already being made, bringing it to your attention.

hoping you have a great day

Robert Reich Endorses Bernie Sanders

heropsycho says...

There are some things I disagree with in this video that are debatable, and things I agree with, but the fact about how Sanders polls against Trump or Cruz compared to Clinton is ridiculous.

He's completely ignoring the fact that most voters don't even know Sanders is a socialist yet, or generally much about any of the candidates. Most know that Hillary is Bill's wife, Bill got head when he was president, there are controversies surrounding them (most cooked up, a few have some legitimacy, not that the average voter knows the difference), and she was Secretary of State under Obama. If they know who Sanders is, he's that old guy who has some good points about how government and Wall Street are corrupt.

The poll numbers provided won't matter in a general election by the time that occurs. They could be more in Sanders' favor, against him, or what they are now, but what they currently are now won't have much to do with that. Polls change this far out from the general election.

If you want the chance at a more impactful significant economic and political revolution at the cost of an increased chance that Trump, Rubio, or Cruz will win, support Sanders. If you want to decrease the chances of Trump, Rubio, or Cruz winning the general election, but you understand it's going to be more of maintaining the status quo by doing so, support Clinton.

Call a space a spade at least.

This Is Why You Don't Go Close to the Ocean During a Storm

poolcleaner says...

It's amusing how cruel people can unwittingly be (on YouTube) making fun of the elderly man being sucked into the sea to die and their misplaced vitriol at the disabled person who is unable to help. It's not so much that an old guy almost died and a crippled person couldn't do anything; it's the the irony in the comments due to people not knowing the truth. Then again, maybe it could also be a skit like the disabled fat guy from Little Britain?

Certainly, it is funny, despite the cruelty in laughing at other people's misery. It could be a gag in an Adam Sandler movie, except the old guy would be Bob Barker and he'd be pulled out to sea and heard cursing as he drifts and blinks out in the sunset. *Plink!*

Everyone would laugh and then Adam Sandler would kiss a blond woman, probably Drew Barrymore, while the sun sets and we do the Looney Tunes fade out, with Porky Pig interrupting with a hand gesture, "A bi-di-a-bi-di-a-bi-di-abi-di-that's all folks!"

Don't you want this to turn out to real?

Asmo says...

*snort* In our modern society, the bare minimum is ignoring the guy and hoping he doesn't come over and bother us.

It could all be fake or that kid giving him the stuff might be broke ass as well. And even if it is mediocre, it might be everything to the old guy. You know, to be treated like you actually matter?

It's what happens when we celebrate something or someone for doing the bare minimum for what is expected.
It's like that participation trophy that all kids get at the game, even when their team lost. Making people feel special for not having done anything to deserve it.
