MITs robotic cheetah jumping obstacles

poolcleaner says...

GO DARPA! DEFEND US. KILL US. Just do it quickly, I don't like suffering. Unless you want humanity to suffer, then ok. Fine. Needles make me faint, so avoid them if you want me consciously mauled alive, able to articulate every millionth of a second of pain.

Perhaps post-machine-apocalypse, post-horrendous-suffering-of-man, we will find peace. But what will we be? What will anything be when robot cheetahs roam free?

Driver Beaten And Tazed As St Louis Police Shut Off Dashcam

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind, that is correct.

I wonder how those cops decide who to pull over, considering they come into contact with hundreds of people driving by, walking by, etc.

But I suspect this video tells the WHOLE story, nothing else to know.

COPS ARE BAD! All cops are bullies!

But you lefties want more gov't, and this, in one sense, is more gov't. Cops are representatives of gov't. Are they perfect? No. But if you want to know what cops do, go down to your local police dept and ask for a ride-along, or attend the citizen academy.

Or you could ask to read the daily 'incident reports' and enjoy all the barking dog complaints, auto accident reports, theft offenses, heroin addicts with needles sticking out of their arms, domestic disputes, child abuses, white collar crime, illegal immigrant hit and runs with no insurance, prisoner transports, summonses served, etc.

Or you could just do what newtboy does...troll for 'bad cop' videos because it confirms your deepest prejudices.

Yeah, at first I was wondering what everyone was getting worked up over, but it's pretty clear by the end of the video that the cat was very distressed.

So I hope the cat scratched the shit of him and it's a big ol' tetanus needle in the arse for you, boy.

lawrence odonnell-shocking mistake in ferguson grand jury

newtboy says...

A better question might be...What is the Law? When can a citizen 'stand their ground' and shoot/kill an offending/abusive cop? At some point, it must dawn on the legislature that cops kill 10 times as many citizens as the reverse (citizens killing cops) and it must be considered that we need protection FROM the police, as well as protection by the police. ;-)

As to your actual question, it's been reported that they were given the entire 'file' of evidence by the DA, everything they had, which must have been boxes upon boxes of information, as well as multiple 'laws' in their legalese entirety, including some that had already been removed for being unconstitutional. When that's done to an actual defendant in a trial, it's often called 'burying them in evidence', and is a tactic to hide a needle (of evidence) in a hay stack. I've never heard of it happening in a grand jury, where there is no defense side offered only the prosecution side (normally). It really seems the 'prosecution' this time was designed to both confuse the grand jury and offer them reasonable doubt...which is not how grand jury's work against citizens/non-police. Again, why I hope for disbarment of the DA, this was not zealous representation of their client, us.

Those needles don't look like they're penetrating much at all. how come all that ink doesn't wear away when we inevitably shed skin cells either through sunburns or just the passage of time?

Call the Cops - Rob Hustle ft. Liv

newtboy says...

If you only change 'black person' to 'punk' or 'douche' or even 'thug' (I see no reason to be racist, not all 'knockout game' players are black by far, and he didn't say ''call the white cops") I could agree with all of that...and it would make a better tune than 'black person'. Write it.
As to even good cops being turned into pricks by dealing with shitheads, it sounds reasonable, but as Mom used to say, that's a reason not an excuse. They (you) should be offered counseling as part of your compensation package to help with that...or should spend time each week out of uniform 'serving' the community (like at a soup kitchen, cleaning parks of needles, volunteering somewhere), they'll get to see a much better side of people that way and be reminded we're a single community and no one benefits from 'us VS them', it's better for all if it's just "us".
But yeah, that also probably won't happen.
Progress?

Looks like a lot of police misbehavior there.

I'd like to see a rebuttal video, and show a lot of 'knockout game' videos with a tune that goes something like:

This is what happens when you meet a black person.

Yeah, probably won't happen.

I think the question should be, why do cops act out? I think I know the answer. It's dealing with shitheads almost every day and the constant frustration turns even eagle scouts (of which there are quite a few in police work) into pricks.

I didn't see anything on the video I could justify, including the lyrics.

However, the money is going for a good cause.

Space Needle Aerial Footage

PlayhousePals says...

*dead removed by user ... guess he got discovered. From King 5 News in Seattle July 24, 2014:

Seattle's iconic Space Needle is still standing after police received reports of a drone crash at the popular tourist attraction Tuesday night.

The Seattle Police Department Blotter says witnesses reported seeing a small drone buzz around the top of the Space Needle and possibly crash into an observation deck window. Witnesses said the drone - described as a white quad-propeller unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a camera - then glided to a nearby hotel, where it landed inside a fifth floor room.

Police said no damage was found at the Space Needle.

Investigators tracked the drone to a guest staying at the hotel. The man told police he flew his drone past the Needle, but claims it didn't hit anything. He showed video from the drone's flight, which showed people waving from the observation deck but no collision into the Needle.

The man told police he was an Amazon employee visiting from out of state and had bought the drone at a hobby shop. After police educated the man about Seattle's recent drone-related controversies, the guest agreed to not fly his drone again during his visit to Seattle.
