MIKE TYSON'S PUNCH-OUT!! (Teens React: Retro Gaming)

spawnflagger says...

I was LOL when Mike Tyson took them all down with 1 punch. I remember how tough this game was now. The NES controller didn't help either - anyone would be feeling the pain by the time they reached 2nd title bout.

Clown Panties

It's pretty common for men to do that in comedy, for example the following jokes that have been done to death for years:
- why do women always take so long to get ready ffs!?
- why are women are so emotional/illogical
- why do women talk/gossip a lot
- why do women love to shop/spend my money

That list is long. I've seen enough routines based solely around simply talking about how women are "bitches" (for example) that haven't been seen as sexist so i'd find it hard to criticise this person (who btw is unknown to the rest of the world) for even more subtle sexism.

@chingalera it sounds like you just don't find her funny and don't like her, so maybe you find it easier to take offence to any man bashing. I don't find her funny but i can't say i found anything sexist in this video (as you also say). She certainly hasn't made an impact in britain so i don't know what else she's like - i think i saw her on the roast of charlie sheen, she wasn't funny then either. Steve-o and mike tyson were better but to credit tyson he was so good he deserved a better audience.

Anyone else besides @chingalera picking up a strong misandry vibe in Schumer's comedy? So much of her "comedy" has a "feminist" orientation that seems to do little more than put men down as being merely insensitive, dumb, hypersexual, and dishonest douchebags with no redeeming qualities.

Tony Awards 2013 - Neil Patrick Harris and Mike Tyson

Sotto_Voce says...

Tyson had a one-man show on Broadway called "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth". Not a musical connection, but a Broadway connection.

And I too am pretty squicked out by the showbiz rehabilitation of this rapist. Then again, at least Tyson served his time. I'm much more squicked out by Hollywood's lionization of Roman Polanski.

He's not my favourite celeb and it does seem a bit odd to see him here. What's his musical connection? If there is one then maybe fair enough. If not he's got good representation.

Weird that he can barely move in coherent way. Funny the way NPH was pulling him to wear he was supposed to go.

And NPH - what a performance. That's talent right there.

In light of how awesome that was, I feel churlish bringing this up; but what is with Mike Tyson coming back into things these days?

The guy's a convicted rapist. Yes, he served his time and everyone deserves a second chance, but do we really have to embrace him as some kind of pop culture icon?

In an atmosphere where everything from Penny Arcade to Game of Thrones is being labelled as a "trigger warning", why is no-one questioning this? If my facts are wrong, please correct me, but honestly, it seems pretty fucked up to me.

I think it'd be more like if playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out if your perspective is from Bald Bull and you're looking at and controlling your own character. That'd be infinitely confusing/difficult.
