Hannah Montana goes deathcore!!!

poolcleaner says...

I would watch this show if Hannah Montana was the lead singer in a doom/death/black metal band -- preferably a black metal band because I would love to see her burn down churches in... wherever in the Midwest she is. (I'm going to assume her last name has nothing to do with location.)

Atheist Comedy - The Great Flood

Nithern says...

Some of you might not recall when the flood waters really flooded much of the American Midwest back in the 80's. As far as the eye could see, and then beyond, there was no ground to see. While the structures build in the 80's were of better material, built with modern know how, some did get destroyed. The point is, that you could still see some structures and such after the floor water receeded. Back in Noah's time, most buildings were built poorly with crappy materials. So when the flood water came, those things were simply demolished.

Unlike the fundie Christians believe, I doubt it was a global flood, but a large scale localized flood. Kinda of like the one from the 80's in Midwest America. But even at that time, the population of the Earth stood at 6 billion. So the flood wiped out a few thousand. That wasn't even a speed bump to the population growth at the time to be noticed.

Finally, this really is an attack on another religion. While poking fun at another religion can be fun, it also has its coneequences. Since, if your an atheist, and think this is funny, you can not, therefore, get mad or upset if a Christian makes jokes of Atheists. Otherwise, your just a hypocrit.

WORD-(three spoken word shortfilms)

we have one here
just on the edge of town
with a fake rock facade, constructed in half a day with half as much thought
molded of prefab steel
designed by the minds at the architect battery farm

one used bookstore
filled, all 4500 sq feet of brand new primo commercial over priced real estate
built on top of old family land sold to the highest bidder after the urban sprawl sprawled so far south
on the edges of the midwest corridor super highway, slicing through the heartland
filled, with every book you've ever been told you must read
... to be considered well read
filled, with enough vampire mini series to keep a town like this piling into one of two movie theatres
filled, with minimum wage employees who may or may not have pink hair and a piece of cartilage pierced
filled, with the books you either did or did not get around to reading, most likely the latter
.... considering their fate
filled, with half priced books

Not really that worried about it, just found the video interesting

But yeah, I agree especially since overpopulation and high birth rates are related to economic prosperity, as more countries grow themselves out of poverty, global populations will grow at a slower rate and the problem will go away by itself. Hell, it's even already projected.

Issues that appear to be less important though, which require actual action rather than happening automatically and contradict the interests of corporations, like the ones you mentioned well yeah might as well give up hope on those, so you don't let yourself down

In reply to this comment by marinara:
ahh i know you're smart real smart but dont' worry about overpopulation. worry about aquifer loss in the midwest, loss of habitat resulting in species loss... even industrial chemicals causing buildups and knocking down the ecosystem.

the big things will take care of themselves so don't worry.

Strong thunderstorm forms over Seattle

Stormsinger says...

What we have here is a prime example of the fact that words mean different things in different regions of the US. Here in St Louis, a "thunderstorm" requires serious thunder. In Seattle, one small clap is enough to qualify...and two makes it a "big thunderstorm".

I love Seattle immensely and would give much to move there, but I have to say that I'd really miss the Midwest thunderstorms (they're about the only part of the Midwest I like).

And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber. And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself. And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest. And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil. One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possesed me then. And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Poolcleaner, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust." And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared, "Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the chickens wear glasses! Save our brothers!" Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus.

1 Million lbs. of Force Exerted on Concrete Pylon

rottenseed says...

>> ^littledragon_79:
Not sure what I'm more impressed with...the pylon taking a million lbs. of force like a champ or the machine that doled it out fairly rapidly.

pfff what'd the machine do other than get heavy? That's no big feat, a million pounds is the average weight of an American from the midwest.
