Fartwell gets call out

newtboy says...

ROTFLMFAHS!!
Which truth? Lizard people infiltrated government?
Pizza pedophile rings operating in inter dimensional spaces that don’t exist in our dimension but are definitely real?
Jewish space lasers cause most wildfires?
Covid 19 is a bio weapon attack against the US?
School shootings are all false flags?
Clinton is a clone?
Biden isn’t president? Biden is a clone? Biden is a robot? Trump is really still running the country in secret?
Trump is weeding out pedophiles (not befriending them and putting them in his inner circle again)?
Obama isn’t American?
Moon landing is fake, all astronauts actors?
9/11 didn’t involve airplanes or Saudis and was an inside job by the Jews?

Which is your “truth”?

Traitor Greene? Who knows, she spreads her legs for anyone that can stand the stench, then lies about her affairs even after being caught red handed. She hung out with Trump, so She’s absolutely slept with spies. There’s infinitely more evidence of that than there is about Swalwell (because there’s absolutely none about Swalwell), and you know it.

Really…she fundraised for his campaign, zero evidence she was ever his lover. There’s absolutely zero evidence he had any personal relationship with her like 2 mayors did. One US mayor described as older and “from an obscure city’’ in the Midwest called Fang his “girlfriend” at a conference in Washington, DC, in 2014 (likely Republican), the other sexual encounter involving Fang and an Ohio mayor (likely Republican) was also caught on FBI surveillance. You love to assume…and you are always wrong in your assumptions. Derp

Every accusation an admission. We know Republicans suck, that’s why they’re below 25% favorability. We know they’re anti American, they tried to overthrow America and since they failed have tried to actually defund police, fbi, DOJ, and suggested we should suspend the constitution. You don’t get more anti American…but we knew that.
We know Republicans want to return to pre-civil war era laws when any non whites and women did as they were told or died, when a lynching was celebrated not frowned upon. It’s no secret.
We know Republicans are trying to legalize sex with 12 year olds and are constantly getting caught having sex with children and covering for those who are having sex with children.
We know Republicans try to sell the blatant lie that human caused climate change isn’t real, but also invest based on climate science. Watch the money, not the flapping lips. I don’t see you investing in cheap low lying beach front property in Florida.

So, you say well over 1/2 of Americans are blind ignorant people…but you also try to say you love and respect America? ROTFLMFAHS! 🤦‍♂️
Only insanely ignorant racist fascists vote Republican. That’s a lot, but not enough to win elections, and independents see you as the anti American infantile bullies and snowflake thin skinned morons you are now. Good job!

Q probably pushed more truth than the fake news did.

Traitor Greene -- What spy did she sleep with or what spy was her driver?

" Salwell slept with Feng, there’s zero evidence of that," --- Really Shes slept her way around with Democrat politicians in CA and finally ended up dicking fartwell.

Look Democrats suck and are Anti American.
They enslave blacks and only want their vote.
They push gender bending and false climate change.

Only blind ignorant people vote democrat.

So now it’s one hour. Consistency, bob. You lack it.

Yes...but 5 second clips out of context are all you’ve been fed for the last 5 years....just as your statement about Biden tripping suggests, because it is a non story on real news, mentioned but not dissected to imply he’s on deaths door. Trump made his ramp crawl a story by denying it and claiming he ran down the ramp unassisted, without the denial it would have been a nothing burger....Thanks to Trump's dumb denial it became a story about his health AND his lack of honesty.

Don’t make up lies, Bob. I’ve never “secretly agreed” Biden isn’t presidential, I’ve said he’s not the best Democrats had to offer. You are the one who is consistently inconsistent between your private conversations and public ones, that’s why I won’t talk to you in private anymore. In private, you can occasionally be rational and honest, but then publicly you are bat shit crazy and contradict your private positions. That’s not me, it’s you, buddy.

No sir, Trump and right wing media are far more likely to be outright lying to you than telling the truth, something like 90% lies 5% misdirection and 5% truth...main stream media is closer to 90% truth, 5% misdirection and 5% lies or mistakes they retract when caught. It’s nothing similar. Right wing media excuses this by saying they are 90% opinion and only 5-10% news, and they have no obligation to tell the truth on their opinion programs. Indeed, they've successfully argued in court that no reasonable person could possibly think they were ever telling the truth so they aren't responsible for their lies. Main stream media doesn’t do that, they are maybe 20% opinion shows that actually do care if they’re correct and voluntarily correct themselves often and 80% actual news that follow ethical guidelines absolutely missing on right wing media.

For instance, you don’t see footage from clan rallies presented as Trump rallies on CNN, but Fox OANN and Newsmax all replayed year old riots in the Midwest labeled as Portland burning all summer, photoshopping armed ANTIFA into the fake pictures to scare you into voting out of fear of the terrifying black man, and lied to you claiming ANTIFA, the anarchist movement, is somehow part of the Democratic Party of big government and also in cahoots with BLM so much your ilk use ANTIFA and BLM as interchangeable terms....and you believe every word without question.
You don't see main stream media pretending there was massive election fraud based on nothing but the word of consummate liars, actually accusing American companies of being foreign entities run by America's long dead enemies in efforts to invalidate an election. You don't see them pretending a DOJ rule that denies a prosecutor the ability to press charges against the president explained as proof and official verification of his innocence on main stream media.
The right spread the absolute lies about vote fraud for so long they are being sued for billions and have convinced their viewers a dictator dead for a decade personally stole the election from their guy (who received 8 million fewer votes, and who’s never won an election by getting more votes).
If right wing media were held to the same standards as real news media not one right wing outlet would still exist.

Limit of all news media to 1 hr / day and ban it from social media.

5 second clip out of context pushed with a slanted bent does nothing but divide people.

Biden tripping on AF1 Stairs, should be a non story Same with Trumps Walking slowly down a ramp should also be a non story. Both sides push the 5 second clip bent on hell to ding / impune the POTUS.

Media is the problem of the day. If reported news fairly then America becomes stronger and united.

Biden as you secretly agree is not presidential. Joe just is not up to the task. This is sad. Sad for Americans. It makes America weaker on the global stage. People surrounding him pushing "this is what is needed" and going with it.

All that yo say below about trump and his media is the same for Biden and his media lapdogs, and that IS the problem.

Have a great day,

StukaFox says...

Newt,

This is in response to your comment on my statement about Biden needing to lose in '20.

I recently wrote this as a reply to one of my readers (I write under a number of different names in other places).:

Dear <name>,

>I took some time to absorb what you wrote. It's a lot to juggle. The Atlantic has an article in the July-August issue on the worst and best case scenario in CLO defaults. I'll read more.

I read the article you mentioned, and while it's certainly good, it also misses a very important point that explains the mess we're in: the collapse of Lehman and Bear-Stearns, while catastrophic in their own ways, were not the nightmare that caused the Fed to freak out in 2008 -- AIG was. Had AIG gone under and the counterparty default contracts triggered, we'd be on the barter system right now. We came within hours of not having an economy in the western world. The $700b ($.7t) the Fed coughed up to stop this from happening calmed the panic, but did nothing to resolve the underlying issues. These issues continued to compound during the 2011-2020 stock run-up and now we're at the point where the Fed is throwing trillions of dollars at every piece of bad debt they can find just to keep the whole thing from imploding into an economic black hole. It is important to note that in September '19, the credit markets started freezing because of the debt that was already on the books then, -before- CV-19 started rolling, and it took $3t just to get them unlocked again. Absolutely nothing has gotten better since then, and I would argue things have gotten dangerously worse.

In an odd coincidence, the NYT ran an article today about the looming bankruptcy crisis. They're calling for 30-60 days before things start imploding, but I'll stick to my estimate of ~90 days. There's some talk about extending the $600 benefits (we'll see) and chatter about another stimulus check, but that's kicking the can as well as telegraphing how bad things really are. When the Republicans are getting behind free money, you know we're in some uncharted territory. For all intents and purposes, Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) -- the reason the Fed is backstopping debt and printing money like crazy -- is the hill the US economy will live or die on. Should the US dollar come unpegged as the world's de facto currency or should inflation begin (and there's already worrying signs this is happening), that's game over.

Please don't take anything I say as the Word of God; please do your own research and come to your own conclusions. Everything I've said is an opinion based on my education, experience and way of thinking. Your mileage may vary.

Here is the article I mentioned: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/18/business/corporate-bankruptcy-coronavirus.html -- might be paywalled, but clear your cookies for the NYT and you should be able to read it.

>Frankly, it's the physical danger in my area of the States that concerns me. There are the guns and bullying. During some BLM demonstrations in the Midwest, locals were standing around with semi-automatics. I drive a Prius for the fuel efficiency. Pick up trucks enjoy tailgating, trying to intimidate me. This behavior isn't going to change with a change of President but will get worse is we don't change. This ideological push to takeover the country instead of ruling by compromise started around the same time we came to the US in 1981, Reagan's first year. I was so shocked when I heard talk radio for the first time; this wasn't the country I had left in the 1970s.

And now we come to the giant pile of sweaty dynamite that's just waiting for the right shock to set it off. I could give you a prolonged lecture about how this all started in 1978 with California's Proposition 13, or how David Stockman's tragically prescient warnings were blatantly ignored, but Haynes Johnson does a far better job at this than I ever could in his 1991 book "Sleepwalking Through History", as does Kevin Phillips in 2006's "American Theocracy". Honestly, at this point, the prelude is academic. The reality of the situation is that a large swath of adult Americans are appalling ill-educated, innumerate and devoid of even the most basic critical-thinking skills. These people are now locked out of the Information Economy. They lack the most basic skills required to compete in the 21st century job market and thus will watch their standard of living sink into the abyss. These people are not blind to this fact because they're living with the reality of their situation every single day. They're totally without hope, cut off from all avenues of control over their own lives and they feel utterly abandoned by the very people who're supposed to be helping them. The reason you're seeing bullying and behavior like that is because these same people are totally removed from any avenues of recourse and the only people they can take their anger out on are people like you and me. Their anger is being stoked on a daily basis. FOX News and the GOP are experts at this and have a host of boogeymen to keep the anger from being pointed their way: ANTIFA, BLM (black Americans have always made a perfect target), "coastal elites" and, of course, Liberals.

Trump's election was a warning, not an outlier. Trump was the primal scream of these people and Liberals and the Democrats as a whole chose not to listen because they found the sound so abhorrent. The rage will only get worse and the number of people enveloped by this rage will only grow as economic conditions worsen. At this point, it no longer matters who wins in '20. Winning the election will be like winning the deed to the World Trade Center one second after the first jet hit. The damage has already been done and no steps are being taken to repair it; if anything, people are actively making it worse either through ideological blindness, deliberate malfeasance or outright stupidity. It took almost 50 years to get to this point and the endemic issues will not be undone in a single generation, much less a single election. Until the people who voted for Trump feel a sense of real hope, a sense of control over their lives and a genuine expectation of recourse for their grievances, they will keep right on voting for Trump, or people like him.

My unfortunate suspicion is that this country will rip itself to shreds long before those reforms are enacted.

Side note: the fundamental difference between the United States and Europe is that European history has forced the nations of Europe to live with the consequences of their actions. Not so the United States. Europe has suffered for her sins. Not so the United States. The two bloodiest wars in human history were fought on European soil. Not so the United States. The United States has never faced true suffering, nor has it ever had to live with the ramifications of its own actions. Both these facts are about to change and a nation whose character is built on a mythology of individual action and violence is going to have to face reality. The people of this nation are not prepared for this and they will not like it.

Second side note: many people are erroneously comparing the current situation to the Wiemar Republic. This is a lack of historical understanding. A more apt comparison would be to Spain in late 1935.

>As for re-opening, we could have gotten some control if the "leader" had simply donned a mask and used realistic thinking. People could go back to work more safely, wash hands, stay a certain distance. But his hubris led the way, so now we'll have a roller coaster for months and years that will affect the economy even more. France is a good comparison because they were unprepared also, having slashed the public healthcare budget for the last twenty years. But when they laid down the rules, troops patrolled the streets to be sure they were followed. So far, they've flattened the curve (for now), and used different economic incentives, such as paying part of employees' salaries to keep them employed.

At this point, the pace of re-opening is a difference between very bad and much worse. Had $3t been used to pay the yearly salary of every American, we could have saved lives and the economy, but we didn't. The history of 2020 will be littered with "what-ifs". However, the first thing you learn when studying history is that what-ifs are useless because things are what they are and you can't change that. It's already obvious we're going into a second wave. If previous pandemics are any indication of what's to come, this second wave will be many times worse than the first. The wait for a vaccine is indeterminate, but if we're going for herd immunity, ~70% of Americans will need to catch the virus. To date, ~1.5% have. If the US population is ~330 million, ~230 million will need to catch the virus. Call the mortality rate 2%, that means ~4.6 million Americans will die. That's a lot of dead Americans and grieving families.

Take care,

The 7 Biggest Failures of Trumponomics

Drachen_Jager says...

They used to have poll tests. They were very effective at disenfranchising minority voters. I'm sure Trump and all the other racists in the GOP would LOVE to bring something like that back, especially since they're experts at twisting things like that to their own ends.

Yeah, it's probably a good idea, but it's really hard to stop people from twisting it to their own agenda, which is why it's illegal in the US.

Now, what I'm all for is balancing the vote to better represent population, so voters in the midwest don't have 10x the voting power of someone in Manhattan. And while we're at it, can we get some balance between generations? There's no way an average 80-90 year-old is as competent to decide the future direction of a country as an average 30-40 year-old, and the younger person has an eye on the future.

newtboy said:

Instead of a poll tax, we need a poll test. If you cannot explain checks and balances, no vote for you.
If you can't understand that a huge deficit increases the debt, no vote for you.
If you can't grasp the fact that corporate welfare is socialism, no vote for you.
Republicans would get less than 5% of the vote under this plan.

MAGA Catholic Kids Mock Native Veteran's Ceremony

shagen454 says...

I work with Indigenous tribes & Indigenous activist groups throughout the west and midwest, everyday. They can be confrontational, no doubt. But, I also don't actually fault these brats. They just remind me of all of the jock ass ignorant privileged scum I grew up with in PA being confronted with something they aren't prepared for.

Not to mention the fact that we are now fully in a digital age of Google algorithms that basically give a person exactly what they are looking for and nothing else (an internet search used to be research in the 90's, siphoning through a lot of info). People are growing up in very insular bubbles; and ignorance breeds from that. One should also fault the educational system; but in a place like Kentucky, I'd imagine the social media bubble is fueling these kids' education more than their public schools are; there's always college (hopefully).

Shep Smith Shuts Down Sean Hannity's Lies And Propaganda

C-note says...

3 of the countries that I pay for cable tv service all carry fox news. MSNBC is no where to be found on the channel listing except for in america. Hell even in america in a number of hotels that I've stayed in through out the midwest you can't find MSNBC.

Conservative talk radio dominates the AM radio networks from coast to coast. The right wing propaganda machine is finely tuned and a force that the left hasn't scratched the surface on trying to counter.

I don't know what it all means, but fox is doing a great job of dragging this country around by the nose.

10 Songs You've Heard and Don't Know the Name

MilkmanDan says...

A few of those didn't actually ring a bell in terms of having heard them before, and I knew the names of a few that I had heard:

(spoilers, I guess?)
1. I instantly knew that was the William Tell Overture, I would think a lot of people know that one?

2. Know the song, but didn't know the title without seeing it. But I'm sure that I've heard the title (Entry of the Gladiators) before.

3. Didn't know the song (or the title -- Liechtensteiner Polka).

4. Know the song, knew it was Strauss, didn't know it was "Fruhlingsstimmen". Gesundheit. As an aside, the stare plus the eyebrow action in this one is hilariously well-suited to the song.

5. Knew a variant of the song, didn't know it was "The British Grenadiers". Pretty sure I first heard this one as music in the old-school NES game "Pirates" by Sid Meier.

6. Knew the song, knew it was Chopin's "Piano Sonata No. 2 Op. 35", also know that it is commonly referred to as "Marche Funebre" (although that title can be applied to other songs also). Dude also gets a lot of mileage out of the creepy stare at the camera on this one.

7. Don't think I've ever heard this one, didn't know the title (A Dog's Life).

8. Knew the song, knew it was by Strauss, didn't know the title (An Der Scthonen Blauen Donau).

9. Knew the song, knew it was the "Chicken Dance". I'd think that anyone that's ever been to a wedding pretty much has to know this one -- but maybe that's just a midwest US thing?

10. Eventually recognized the song, but not until he got a bit into it. Didn't know the title (Colonel Bogey March). Still think it should 'properly' be titled "Lisa, her teeth are big and green. Lisa, she smells like gasoline."

Irish People Taste Test Thanksgiving Food

moonsammy says...

Midwest here: other than the plate of turkey, stuffing, and cranberries, this is utterly unlike Thanksgiving to me. Also, I'll echo the "regular" vs cornbread stuffing. If we have cornbread it's as a chunk of cornbread, not stuffing. My wife and I handled our family's meal this year, and we had scalloped corn, dinner rolls, two types of mashed potatoes, a rich mac and cheese, and several types of (non-pecan) pie.

Stormsinger says...

Easily $100K+ for that list. Even in the midwest, where things are relatively cheap, any hospital visit -starts- at around $2000 per day, and each additional service, no matter how tiny adds three or four figures to it. Anything major, would likely run $20K and up.
