I'm almost embarrassed to say it but, I was expecting his jet pack to light up and take off.
Happy Hobbit Day: Bilbo Baggins birthday (September 22)
I know it's almost the end of September 22nd, marking the end of Hobbit Day; but, we still have a couple more days of Hobbit Week to go. So break out those pipes and light up Tolkien style. Get all lazy and intellectual in a field without any shoes or socks on.
Fire! Tractor fire on the way home from work
What the hay? That's one way to light up the town!
Silicone Breast Implants in the Dark
That is kind of mesmerizing. It's only a matter of time before they make ones that light up from within. I mean you're already doing an implant, why not add some features.
Rolls Royce New Space Age Car
Somehow that light up hood ornament just makes me think of cheap Christmas decorations.
Drone Racing League | Level 1: Miami Lights
That's a hard sell. It's my guess that the neon is the only way the pilots can keep track of where they are, and where they're going. It even got annoying to me a bit (but also looked like a video game, so wasn't TOO bad) but I can see why they did it. I'm not sure if it would work without the high intensity visual cues.
I was glad they didn't light up everything. They could have put LEDs on every hand rail and post to highlight them, but they didn't.
I'm sure they'll figure out a balance eventually. Don't give up on them yet, it's the first race after all.
They've really got to ditch the neon BS. That is killing my excitement, and making it impossible to turn anyone else on to this amazing event.
How to Land a 737 (Nervous Passenger)
Even knowing how to use the radio is one degree better than absolutely no knowledge of a plane..
And they gotta implement some sort of remove control/assistance system.
If not straight up remove piloting then remotely light up things that I would need to push/pull/twist...
@mxxcon Unless a qualified pilot happened to be on the plane it would likely be the senior attendant that takes responsibility yes.
I imagine there is some procedure in place, but the scenario is so massively unlikely and modern avionics so good that there would be little point in doing much if any formal training (I can't see most airlines warranting the expense).
I dare say they might be shown how to work the radio though.
Ball Lightning Filmed
Everything's out of focus - could just have been a cloud to cloud lightning strike - the "ball" here seems to be clouds lighting up from the strike. Nope. Don't believe it.
Cool, though.
Wizards in Winter Launchpad Cover
So a question about Launchpad. Does it matter what button you hit, or is it synced to play the next proper note no matter what key you hit, and that just helps control which rows, buttons light up?
Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello - The Ghost of Tom Joad
Men walkin' 'long the railroad tracks
Goin' someplace there's no goin' back
Highway patrol choppers comin' up over the ridge
Hot soup on a campfire under the bridge
Shelter line stretchin' 'round the corner
Welcome to the new world order
Families sleepin' in their cars in the Southwest
No home no job no peace no rest
The highway is alive tonight
But nobody's kiddin' nobody about where it goes
I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light
Searchin' for the ghost of Tom Joad
He pulls a prayer book out of his sleeping bag
Preacher lights up a butt and takes a drag
Waitin' for when the last shall be first and the first shall be last
In a cardboard box 'neath the underpass
Got a one-way ticket to the promised land
You got a hole in your belly and gun in your hand
Sleeping on a pillow of solid rock
Bathin' in the city aqueduct
The highway is alive tonight
Where it's headed everybody knows
I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light
Waitin' on the ghost of Tom Joad
Now Tom said "Mom, wherever there's a cop beatin' a guy
Wherever a hungry newborn baby cries
Where there's a fight 'gainst the blood and hatred in the air
Look for me Mom I'll be there
Wherever there's somebody fightin' for a place to stand
Or decent job or a helpin' hand
Wherever somebody's strugglin' to be free
Look in their eyes Mom you'll see me."
Well the highway is alive tonight
But nobody's kiddin' nobody about where it goes
I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light
With the ghost of old Tom Joad
Porsche Cayman S driver fail
Stick or Porsche PDK, there is no brake lights after taking off from the light. As he floats it sideways there is no light up of his taillights, or brake light bar in the rear window.
He only taps his brakes going OVER the median, not before (0:16)
After he gets back in his own lane, and tries to drive away the embarrassment with more throttle (no brake lights through this bit either). The partially broken spindle became fully snapped.
Changing the light bulb on a 1500' (450m) TV Tower
You would have thought it worth their while to add a sequence of lights which light up as each one fails.
Mind you, i'd love this job! what a view
science explains why rich people don't care about you
Interesting, but surely, a part of the brain "lighting" up, having been given certain stimuli, does not necessarily explain root cause. eg;- Why does the light work when it is switched on? A neurological answer would simply attribute it to the necessary connections being made. But we know it is WAY more complicated. The correct bulb must be used, the correct voltage, the connection cannot be broken, the switch must be operable, etc. Any one of these not in place = no light. Similarly with neurology. The light is on, but myriad reasons could account for it. Nature, nurture, peer pressure, obligation, and much more dictate what/who we are. A sadists pleasure neurons light up witnessing pain, but may also light up when helping someone. So which is the true reaction, or are they both, though contradictory, true? I respect science immensely, but trying to map the brain as if it were totally predictable in any given circumstance seems - unless we are all identically cloned have identical experiences, identical parents, and identical hopes and dreams - futile.
Conservative Christian mom attempts to disprove evolution
My cousin lived in the belt buckle of the Bible Belt.
I said to him once -- I don't know what to say to someone who says that transitional fossils are missing.
He laughed and laughed. "All fossils are transitional."
Boy, did that light up my brain. Ever since, when I read a general science article on the discovery of a new fossil, I think my beloved cousin (now gone) as they say that the fossil record has been changed to reflect the new information.
Evolution isn't disproved by the change, of course.
All fossils are transitional.
(I miss you, Gaylan.)
