Pilot Makes Emergency Landing on Busy Highway

The Best Female Swimmer in the World!

newtboy says...

Me like guy in mirror. Him friend….me no care he left handed.

No, men aren’t posing as women to be competitive. That’s nonsense, a lie you morons tell yourselves to excuse your bigotry.

You finally have ONE top of their sport trans athlete to point to, out of around 1/4million high school trans athletes yearly. I thought you claimed to be good at math. Is that statistically significant? (Edit: Hint, trans people make up between 1-2% of the population. Is one upper echelon athlete 2% of all upper echelon atheletes? If not (it’s not), how do you think there is an over representation?)

Nope not at all, You just not liking to look into you leftest mirror.

It is real. Men posing as woman in sports is bananas.

Lia Thomas becomes first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming championship.

Massive Protests Erupt in Mainland China

luxintenebris jokingly says...

to ask our red menace to abate that red menace...i mean...their government is hapless and cruel...ours unmovable and unrepentant...bit like asking the right hand to correct the left hand...can't see it being effective.

or rather, our efforts to bring democracy, a sense of human decency, with a caring and responsive government to china would be akin to winning WWIII. it'd be fabulous!

if it worked there then maybe, they'd try it here.

That's some dope ass bass playing (super funky)

Phooz says...

What's even cooler is he just took a right-handed bass and flipped it over strung the same and is playing left-handed and then doing all the poppin' and slappin' essentially upside down!

That's some dope ass bass playing (super funky)

wtfcaniuse says...

Very cool. I was impressed with tweaking the dial between slaps. Playing slap on a RH bass left handed would be extra difficult because there will always be a delay when moving the wrist to pluck above the slap.

Would be cool to see slo-mo footage of his technique.

Vox: Why gamers use WASD to move

Ickster says...

For a long time, I slid the keyboard to the left and used my left hand on the 10-key because I found it a lot easier to center on--I found that it was too easy for my hand to drift on the alpha keys. Eventually though, games got complicated enough that I ran out of keys within easy reach of the 10-key and had to re-learn with WASD.

Undeniable Miracle

Djent 2018

moonsammy says...

It does appear to be more of a hilarious novelty than a serious instrument. There's clearly no way to fret on the lower (upper?) half of the strings without having your left hand in a completely bizarre position, or placing it in your lap.

Also, why the hell is one of the strings pitched higher than the string below it? At 47 - 49 seconds you can hear it, and it's labeled as a C# between F# and G#. I'm not imagining that, am I?

so it's a regular electric guitar with a bunch of extra strings that are hardly ever touched?
I'm not an expert but I couldn't hear anything that couldn't be replicated with 1 or 2 effects pedals...

Making an International Standard Cup of Tea

Buttle says...

I recall, years ago, reading a standard (ISO or ASME, don't recall), on testing "bullet proof" window materials. The requirements were, and I will probably get the numbers wrong, 12 burly young lads, at least 3 of which were right handed, and at least 3 left handed, and a standard set of tools with which to bash windows. Then you encouraged them to bash for a standard time, and evaluated the damage using standard criteria.

Testing the ice

nanrod says...

When I was cub scout age in Calgary a guy from the left hand side of the normal distribution decided to test the safety of the ice on the Glenmore Resevoir by driving his VW Beetle onto it. It was safe for skating but not for cars.

What MLK actually said about cars and advertising (Dodge)

00Scud00 says...

Advertisers didn't put this on our screens? Who did then? The Keebler Elves? The Commercial Fairy? Aliens?
No, advertisers made it, for Dodge (yes I know Dodge is owned by Fiat, but that doesn't get them off the hook imho) and they then ran it by the estate of Martin Luther King Jr, who actually signed off on this.
The King family is however not pleased by this, which confuses me to no end as it sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is up to.

Advertisers did NOT put this on your screen. Dodge employees did NOT put this on your screen. An Italian shitbox car company did. Try to remember that.

Canada Air Takeoff - Close Call

Those are Canadair CL-415 water bombers.....

https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=199266

A CL-415 amphibious aircraft sustained damage during a water takeoff.
Two CL-415 were lifting off the surface of a lake when one of the aircraft contacted a mast of a barge with the left hand wing, according to a video posted on YouTube.
The aircraft reportedly returned to land.

For the lieutenant colonel Bernier from the Office Manager communication of the direction of the Sécurité Civile : " The wing of the Fire-fighting plane is damaged, it will be unavailable for several weeks, there were projections on two barges, fortunately without making of wounded person.
They are experimented and confirmed pilots who knew well the stretch of water. They managed to fly up to the base of Nîmes. The pilot and the co-pilot are shocked, they were suspended as a protective measure and are going to be examined by a specialized doctor who has to make sure that they are in capacity to re-fly. "

Arya spars with Brienne

ChaosEngine says...

A couple of things about this scene:
Apart from some unnecessary sword/knife spinning, the fight choreography (according to people who know about these things) is actually pretty historically accurate (not perfect obviously, Arya keeps trying to cut with a stabbing sword)

But the really impressive thing is that while Arya is left-handed, Maisie Williams ISN'T.
