City of Akron responding to the shooting of Jayland Wlaker

newtboy says...

You absolutely deviate from that.
You never see wrong from Orange people, and rarely from white, but see nothing but wrong from darker skinned people.

You just see white and black and think it’s the same thing as right and wrong.

I don’t judge people by anything but actions….that leaves most people on my shit list, melanin levels have no bearing on that.
Outfit?

Yes, it is hypocritical because, yes, you did back Bundy at the time and were outraged he was shot, even though he took over a park armed, threatened rangers and police, shot his gun, and fled from police before being shot still armed. Hard to handle that with the courts when he’s on the highway shooting.
You supporting him and were angry, saying those cops didn’t need to shoot him, but are cheering on cops shooting an unarmed man running away no longer threatening anyone… 60 times. The difference? One was extremely more dangerous, violent, armed, and white. You only see the other one as the problem. That’s hypocritical.
I see 60 shots as the problem, and don’t believe the police version that he even fired his gun without proof.

Government overreach? Are you talking about Bundy’s other anti government armed action when he stole grazing from public lands and held off law enforcement with an armed violent militia, which you supported? Cheering him on for refusing to pay for using public lands for private profits and using deadly force against law enforcement? I’m talking about when he violently took over a park for months with more armed violent militia….which you also supported.

My life is pretty good. I have empathy for those less fortunate. I know you can’t understand thinking about someone else’s situation, but it used to be considered normal…real conservatives know that.

Lol…I’m not on any other social media at all, and I rarely get my news here. Sucker. Nice try, but I look for actual sources, not nut jobs saying what I want to hear, like Trump who got the election fraud fraud from an anonymous Twitter account.
It’s pretty telling that you think the way to “truth and understanding “ is remove all sources of information. What exactly do your eyes see with your head in that dark hole? Mine are wide open in the sunshine, sunshine. I see not only the “truth”, but also the various attempts at lies, and being (and keeping myself) fairly well educated I can tell the difference, a trait I’m afraid you sorely lack, friend. Thanks so much for the offer, but it’s like a deaf and blind man offering to lead someone with glasses across the freeway.

On the contrary, we’ve been here for you for over a decade, calmly explaining reality as you scream nonsense and fear monger. We will be here tomorrow. Assuage your fear of abandonment and maybe you can begin to think rationally.

I just see right and wrong.

Running from the cops and shooting you gun while flying and then get shot for you own actions is your own damn fault.

Me pointing it out is not racist or hypocritical .

You thinking it is makes you a narrow minded fool.

Did I back Bundy? Even with "government overreach" this should have been handled by the courts.

Newt, you really come off as a educated bitter little man. You must have been screwed over in you life to carry such a big chip on your shoulder.

I'm here for you. I can lead you to truth and understanding.
Step 1 Turn off all news and social media for 2 months.
Step 2 open you eyes to reality.

Funny how you say these rules don’t apply when it’s white right wing criminals….like the Bundys. When they get shot, armed, running from the cops after taking over federal property by force and shooting their guns when the cops were after them, you lose your shit at the murderous cops. Why? The only reasonable explanation I can see is because you are a hypocritical racist, it’s definitely not because Bundy posed less of a threat.

Trump Wanted Armed Groups At His Jan 6 Rally

newtboy says...

Um….it’s not a show, nor is it a trial. Derp.

It is about investigating, then handing over evidence for prosecuting, not persecuting those politically opposed to democracy that took actions to end it because they tried to cover up the certified, verified results of the election they lost in a historic landslide to Sleepy Joe. The prosecution comes afterwards, then the persecution.

It’s absolutely about covering up the truth about the 2020 election….it’s about investigating and eventually prosecuting those who tried to do that.

I think it’s funny that investigating Jan 6 is portrayed by the right as going after Trump, but you guys are so dumb you don’t realize that’s admitting Trump was leading the treasonous coup attempt. If investigating the Jan 6 attack is going after Trump, the two must be connected.

Right, CNN reported it, so it must be untrue. So stupidly ignorant, bob. CNN gets it right 197 times for every time your biased sources tell the truth. Not only that, the 2.5% they get wrong they report and offer retractions….without having to be sued for billions to get them to not lie. Not a single right wing propaganda outlet can say the same. Such sad infantile stupidity you show at every opportunity.

I guess you forgot, Trump actually admitted most of her testimony publicly, all the important parts, saying he wanted to go personally lead the attack but his secret service wouldn’t let him. Does the specifics of this tantrum of the dozens we’ve seen him have publicly make any difference? He’s not being charged with attacking them, he’s being charged (eventually) with leading a violent coup to overthrow the government, something you and everyone else knows quite well that he did. Leadership matters!

The Federalist?! Aaaaahahaha!! Truth..nope. News…nope. Try again traitorous loser. The Federalist is poorly written fantasy fiction compared to CNN, which isn’t the only source for this information by far but I knew a CNN report would trigger your stupidity. Mission accomplished.
You, on the other hand, have what to discredit her story? One anonymous claim from someone saying an unnamed someone else might say it didn’t happen? From the far right, racist, factless, conspiracy theory rag…The Federalist!? LMFAHS!! OMFG, you ijit! Bwaaaahahahahaha. Why not just quote Mike Pillow?

What part does the federalist deny anyway (I’m not going to read it). Do they just deny he grabbed the wheel? I would certainly believe his excuse, that he’s too fat and out of shape to grab the wheel, but also that he TRIED to, lunged for it but failed, yes, I believe that, does that change anything? Does that even contradict her testimony? No.
Do they deny he was outraged that they wouldn’t take him to personally lead the attack (and lynching of Pence)? He admitted that on national tv, so it’s too late to deny. D’oh!

More tears, they’re so yummy! Keep ‘em coming!

Just a reminder, Republicans didn’t want a non political investigation, they utterly refused, then they refused to be involved in the bipartisan investigation. The only investigation they were interested in was of Clinton, even in 2021. Now they whine they aren’t involved in the investigation (Trump now complains they should have been a party to it because he wants people inside who can warn his people of subpoenas and warrants so they can flee and destroy evidence).
No crying about it now, you chose to not be represented well on the panel.

The January 6 show trial is partly about persecuting political opponents. But it’s also about covering up the truth of the 2020 election.

Trump Wanted Armed Groups At His Jan 6 Rally

newtboy says...

Not the parts that matter, like him screaming to let his armed troopers into his rally to be ready to storm the capitol, because they aren’t there armed to hurt him.
Also not the part about him being apoplectic when they wouldn’t let him go to the capitol to lead the attack.
You will never wake up.

noims says...

That mostly makes sense, but I don't follow his leap that the red states feeling that pain leads to those people voting democrat. If they're undereducated then we've already seen they can be convinced up is down and left is right and this is all the democrats' fault.

Trump Wanted Armed Groups At His Jan 6 Rally

newtboy says...

Unsurprising, you cherry pick the one non crime mentioned then say something amounting to “look, that’s not a crime, it just indicates Trump is an infant that throws physical tantrums….that’s my man.”
And actually it is a crime, destruction of public property and vandalism of the White House….not that you care.
Also, it shows how outraged Trump was that there was no massive fraud. He wanted there to be fraud, he needed there to be fraud, or at least a lie that there was fraud, and was OUTRAGED there was no fraud and more so that Barr had admitted the truth. It shows how he is 100% not qualified emotionally to hold ANY office, much less the highest on earth.

Nice ignoring the physical attacks against secret service members while trying to personally lead the violent attack against America and the lynching of his own VP.
Good job ignoring him trying to let heavily armed crowds join his rally meant to march to the capitol building….armed to the teeth with everything from bear mace and spears to groups carrying assault weapons wearing tactical body armor.
Nice ignoring that he knew his crowd was heavily armed when he told them to fight hard at the capitol building and don’t let them certify the election (he may have said “don’t let them steal your country” , a distinction without a difference).
Be proud of ignoring all the Republicans who admitted knowing they committed crimes in an attempt to overthrow what they knew undeniably was a certified, fair, secure election by asking for pardons for their crimes they committed for Trump, including Trump’s chief of staff. Put your head in a little farther and you might be able to see out of your own throat.

Covfefe
Oranges of the investigation
Trump is no mental genius….and Biden handed him his ass without even holding rallies.
So….Sleepy Joe doesn’t need to be awake or conscious at all to be a much better president. Is that a compliment to Joe, a swipe at Trump, or both?

PS- kudos for admitting Biden actually is the current POTUS. I know that’s hard for you.

PPS- add to that news of Melania’s absolute refusal (by text, so recorded) to put out a statement calling for a halt to violence…..because they needed that violence and she expected her husband to be leading it.

Joe Biden's Actual "To Do List"

moonsammy says...

...so? Presidents and other national leaders attend a huge variety of functions, and aren't going to want to do a run-through for every single one of them. A brief overview of his role on a note card seems a very pragmatic solution. I do want to point out that it doesn't tell him what to say - the President's staff expects he'll be able to improvise something serviceable. Because he's an intelligent, capable adult human being.

Oh, and that clip of him saying something about "dropped dead unexpectedly" - that looks like stuttering to me. He seemed to be trying to say something else, and just couldn't get it out. His backup word choice was inelegant at best. Stuttering is something Biden's known to have struggled with for most of his life, and generally he handles it very well. Sometimes though he seems to still stumble on something, and this might've been a case of that. Maybe not - maybe he had a total brain fart / senior moment and we should be concerned... but it certainly didn't seem like a noteworthy incident to me.

Meanwhile, in actual important news: the J6 hearings have demonstrated the former President clearly made numerous efforts to remain in power despite having definitely lost in a fair election. (Well, fair in terms of having been run competently and without demonstrable fraud. Trump still had what I consider a significant unfair advantage in that Republicans have an inherent edge via the Electoral College. He just lost the popular vote by MORE this time around, leading to a loss of the EC as well.)

Uh oh….Jeffry Clark’s home was just raided by federal agents looking for Jan 6 coup related documents. In case you forgot, Clark is the lackey that sent fake fraudulent letters to Georgia telling their election officials the outright lie that the DOJ was investigating voter fraud in Georgia and they shouldn’t certify their results, and the guy Trump tried to install as the head of the DOJ when AG Jeff Rosen refused to help with the coup.

He was an environmental lawyer with little experience when tapped by Trump to lead the DOJ civil division (in an effort to shield Trump from civil cases).

Hayes: NRA "Good Guy With A Gun" Theory Failed In Real Time

newtboy says...

The proof that these assholes don’t believe their “good guy with a gun” lie is they don’t allow guns at the NRA events.

I wish some nut(s) would attack the NRA event, shooting a few dozen gun proponent politicians that normally hide behind their armed security and bullet proof podiums. I’m sure their tune would change significantly if some of their ilk were silenced permanently. No one deserves it more than Abbot.

Edit: BTW…more unarmed school children have been murdered in school this year than police officers in the line of duty. For all their bravado, their whining about how dangerous it is to be a cop, the necessity for more militarized equipment for their safety, it’s actually more dangerous to be a 10 year old student. I guess those kids should all get vests, rifles, pepper spray, armored vehicles and buildings, etc. ..that’s the solution.

Also, guns are the leading cause of death for children under 19 …have been since 2020.

Fucking worthless cowards and thugs, every single one. They deserve one more bullet each…delivered at high speed.

"Ukraine on Fire"

Across its eastern border is Russia and to its west-Europe. For centuries, it has been at the center of a tug-of-war between powers seeking to control its rich lands and access to the Black Sea. 2014's Maidan Massacre triggered a bloody uprising that ousted president Viktor Yanukovych and painted Russia as the perpetrator by Western media. But was it? "Ukraine on Fire" by Igor Lopatonok provides a historical perspective for the deep divisions in the region which lead to the 2004 Orange Revolution, 2014 uprisings, and the violent overthrow of democratically elected Yanukovych. Covered by Western media as a people's revolution, it was in fact a coup d'état scripted and staged by nationalist groups and the U.S. State Department. Investigative journalist Robert Parry reveals how U.S.-funded political NGOs and media companies have emerged since the 80s replacing the CIA in promoting America's geopolitical agenda abroad.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Asbestos (pronounced: /æsˈbɛstɒs/ or /æsˈbɛstəs/) is a naturally occurring fibrous silicate mineral. There are six types, all of which are composed of long and thin fibrous crystals, each fibre being composed of many microscopic "fibrils" that can be released into the atmosphere by abrasion and other processes. Inhalation of asbestos fibres can lead to various dangerous lung conditions, including mesothelioma, asbestosis, and lung cancer, so it is now notorious as a serious health and safety hazard.

Pete Buttigieg Perfectly Articulates Republican Behavior

newtboy says...

You know that’s not true. Democrats and independents have 48 seats, not 60(the number needed to pass any law now). Manchin and Senema are Republicans, not Democrats, and vote as such. That means there’s no chance of getting anything meaningful passed with the Republican platform being “don’t let the democrats get anything done”.

Solution to…what? Answer to….what? You can’t even form a cogent accusation.

What are utter lies and bs? Your attempts to attack Democrats?

Who says “trans community….”… what? Which is fine …how? Are you ok? Did you smoke crack recently? Meth?

You say YES to indoctrination of everyone with born again MAGA evangelical Christian doctrines and MAGA insanity, you liar. You people want prayers in preschools, bibles in schools, bans on non binary genders, bans on discussing any non “pure” monogamous heterosexual sexuality, bans on interracial relationships, and probably a ban on any mention of any other religion through high school….and you think that’s not indoctrination.

Right, because screaming insane ridiculousness at full rant like a raving crackhead (sometimes WITH a raving crackhead!) is what makes a leader. 🤦‍♂️
Pete’s been in leadership positions repeatedly…including as an officer in Afghanistan.
Now Trump, he’s never led anything that didn’t fall apart or go bankrupt or get closed for fraud while he led it….and is a blatant draft dodger.

Yelling isn’t leading. Dividing isn’t leading. Throwing tantrums isn’t leading. Attempting coups isn’t leading.

but we say no to indoctrination.

Pete Buttigieg Perfectly Articulates Republican Behavior

luxintenebris says...

Less well known [than other paradoxes] is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.

- Karl Popper from The Open Society and Its Enemies [1945]

When Democrats have all branches in their states

newtboy says...

So, Bobby, what is the 2020 Republican platform?
“Block Democrats from any progress”, absolutely nothing else.
There wa a proposal for a Republican Party platform….”1) raise taxes by $4500 on all low income people who today don’t pay taxes because they are below the poverty level and 2) end all social programs like Medicare, Medicare, social security, food assistance programs, etc. by “sun setting” any social program every 5 years and requiring the new legislature to start over from scratch (unless the right has control, then forget it).

“We cannot blame republicans (for rich people not paying taxes) when HOUSE democrats have the majority” 1) the tax breaks for the rich were enacted when Republicans held the house, senate, presidency, and a supermajority in the Supreme Court…a simple majority in the house and no where else after the fact does not give Democrats the ability to repeal a horrific law.

Then he wants to blame the California legislature for local groups fighting against low income housing in their neighborhood, for zoning and construction laws that severely limit where and how you can build. Such nonsense. The housing crisis in California is not limited to the homeless, there just aren’t enough houses to buy or rent. Pretending there are just no programs to secure housing, that the legislatures just don’t care and are ignoring the issue isn’t just ignorant, it’s outright dishonest. No surprise at all considering the source. California has a housing crisis, not simply an “ignoring the homeless “ problem. Property in California is so in demand that average workers are priced out of the market and fully employed people find themselves homeless. Red states have cheap property because successful professional people don’t want to live there, which leads to more affordable housing and fewer homeless. My property has quadrupled in value over 20 years, and I’m not in any town or city.

California just approved $12 BILLION to spend on our homeless issues. Red states pass laws essentially making homelessness a crime, so many homeless migrate to “blue states” where services exist and they aren’t put in jail for sleeping in public or loitering.

Texas just made it illegal for homeless people to camp in tents.

So, Bob, tell me about the Republican plans to house the homeless in red states. About all the services and assistance they want to provide but are blocked by democrats from moving forward. Show me the high end Republican neighborhoods inviting low income housing into their neighborhoods, keeping in mind that many, even in California, are right wing neighborhoods with Republican led local government that blocks construction.

You’ve tried this nonsense propaganda before, about 6 months ago when it was originally posted if I recall, I debunked it thoroughly then. So sad @bobknight33 can’t remember anything for over 3 seconds or he would recall the last time he posted this nonsense opinion piece and I rubbed his nose in it.

My first job was when I was 14 at the town newspaper at the end of my street. They had a machine called a Linotype. (line of type)

It made type ingots from lead which would print text after being inked up and then pressed onto paper. Sometimes my job was to clean the ink off them and put them into buckets so they could be melted down and used again. My hands would be coated with lead.

I also handled lead type in high school for two years.

Guess I should get tested eh?

When it comes to memory issues, I've had a bad memory for as long as I can remember.

You can see the lead bar hanging on the machine.
