Wow, impressive. This is another step forward in the virtual reality we expected to see decades ago (after seeing the Lawnmower Man and other VR-themed sci-fi, peaking with the Matrix.) This tech along with Oculus Rift will put people inside their avatars.

I didn't see the actor really shaking his jowls or showing his face reactive to gravity, which is a big part of what current CGI lacks. He probably wasn't allowed in case the headset broke, although I'm not fully aware if its role in the demo. I also wonder where the texture on the poly came from. It looks to be a good match for his face, but it wasn't real-time.

If the pole were wider, it would work out. You'd just need to match the circumference of the pole to the track of the lawnmower. Probably be more work to setup than just doing it yourself though, but much more fun.

Haha so funny. The front of the shoe was a nice touch. I had the front of a shoe ripped off by a lawnmower. It's an odd experience. You feel instantly both terrified by the sound and lucky that it was only the shoe.

I can't believe how long it's taking reality to catch up with our '90s cyberpunk dreams. It's 2013! I was supposed to be flying through the metascape like the Lawnmower Man by now.

OK, so here's the thing:
- Taily wags when your excited, not when you're happy: it reacts to heart rate.
- That's not a flying lawnmower, that's a remote control single-wing model aircraft built to look like a lawnmower. There's a propeller on the front. It cannot cut grass.
- Babywings - ok, call it a straightjacket if you must, but haven't you all heard of swaddling clothes? Like from Jesus in a manger type stories? Yep, swaddling clothes involve tightly wrapping a baby in fabric to restrict their arm movements. Why? Because their poor motor control / skills mean that their arms flail uncontrollably and unsettle the child. Having them wrapped up allows them to relax, and to rest. Yes, this practice has been around for thousands of years.
- That vehicle is parrot *operated*, not parrot powered.
- Binocular soccer was a one-off stunt for a Japanese gameshow, it's not a real thing.
