2 black dudes-1 iconic metal song
Nice sift @enoch!
I discovered these guys a while ago on YT also. I don't usually care about watching reaction / review videos, but these guys are great. They are so enthusiastic and honest that it is almost like hearing the songs again for the first time myself.
Their reactions to Holy Wars (Megadeth), Master of Puppets, and One (both Metallica) are awesome for the thrash lover in me. And for other stuff, their vids for Killing in the Name (RATM), Digital Bath (Deftones), and Lateralus (Tool) are also all great.
Kids Cover "46 and 2" By Tool and Kill It
Yeah, not an unfair comment. Don't know if she's deliberately restraining herself or just a bit unsure, but it still rocks.
I can understand picking Tool as a school project though, their music is so multi faceted and involved (not to mention the sheer number of instruments and effects used to create their sound), featuring some really wacky timings etc (Lateralus) that it probably constitutes a master class... =)
Her voice is great, but it's too controlled for this kind of song. This isn't a music school recital, it's Tool. You should feel the emotion, it SHOULD crack, it should be imperfect at the right time.
I don't know if this is her kind of music.. Maybe it was just a school project, maybe not. If it is what she's into, I have no doubt she'll learn and grow. She certainly has the raw talent.
Your favorite sift... (Happy Talk Post)
Most of my sifts are things that I genuinely enjoy, though I do have some that I sifted only because I knew they'd do well. As such, I had a hell of a time picking a favorite.
but not without strongly considering http://videosift.com/video/How-to-kick-the-shit-out-of-somebody, http://videosift.com/video/Hadoken, http://videosift.com/video/How-TV-Ruined-Your-Life-Episode-4-Love, and http://videosift.com/video/Incredible-Drummer-vs-BeatboxI ultimately went with
Picking from the videos of others didn't seem like it would be much easier, but once I came across http://videosift.com/video/researching-happiness-for-72-years-and-what-do-they-find it was a no-brainer (click through and read the article for the full effect). That video was posted during an extremely difficult time in my life when I felt like I had nothing left and it gave me a glint of hope that I should keep on going.

I don't know about Fibonacci
If you're saying you don't know what Fibonacci has to do with Lateralus, this will explain it to you.

I agree with skforty. Actually someone should post Tool Lateralus. Am sure this guy did massive loads of LSD.
This guy's studio is a modern Mecca for users. There, he and his followers--yes, they are followers--regularly have what would be called acid tests if they had been held in the 60s. I was invited to one way back when, but found myself without further need for that certain kind of exploration. I still hold his art in high regard, looking at it quite frequently in one of his books, which I will Amazon link to above.

What are your favorite album covers? (Art Talk Post)
Gotta chime in here.
Here's a cover that may be largely responsible for a 40-year career (it helps that the music was and has stayed great too):

Roger Dean was a great match for the music of Yes--really seemed to complete them. His most elaborate work for the band:

Led Zeppelin also produced a couple of fun covers, with cutouts and moving bits so you could customize them, kinda. Zeppelin III had cutouts with a rotating inner layer of different pictures that showed through. Physical Graffiti had a bunch of windows cut out, with different scenes for each one on the various inner sleeves of the double album. You can't get that with a CD, and the Internet images I found weren't very helpful either.
There are a couple of CDs with fun covers, though. Tool, also mentioned above, had a 3D cover for Ænima and another kind of 3D booklet and glasses for 10,000 Days; Lateralus featured a booklet printed on clear plastic, so you could peel away the image like in some anatomy books you may have seen. Also Beck's "The Information" was basically blank and came with lots of stickers so you could make your own version.

My favorite is from Lateralus by TOOL:

Alex Grey does their artwork, and he's amazing.
TOOL - Pushit (live)
I know. I still love them, but the last two times I saw them the majority of their songs were from 10,000 Days. And as much as I love the album, I wanted to heard more from Lateralus and Aenima. Especially this song, which is one of my favorites, for that 8:23 note. *shivers*
>> ^cdominus:
That would have been awesome to be there live, Maynard doesn't go long and high live like he did at 8:23 anymore. At least he hasn't the last few times I've seen them.
Area 51- The frantic caller
This clip was used in Faaip De Oaid, the last song of Tool's 2001 album Lateralus. It is really really creepy hearing this all over again.
The Fibonnaci Sequence in Tool's Lateralus
Interesting.
To be frank I'm not much of a fan of the Lateralus period, and this video's pretty illustrative of why that is; a tendency to be obscure and difficult for the sake of being obscure and difficult. Once you've been let in on the hidden key to understanding it, this is compelling work, but without it's equally frustrating. I don't see the need to hide that key behind so many layers of obfuscation.
