What if We Nuke the Moon?

StukaFox says...

So this is a bit incorrect. Teller-Ulam devices (aka: huge fucking nukes like the Tsar Bomba) are three-stage or more weapons. The first stage, the "atom bomb", is the initiator. The second stage is where a normal hydrogen bomb gets its "oomph" from. After a third stage is added, things get very scary very quickly:
" Each stage can be 10-100 times the size of the previous stage. The 50 Mt bomb mentioned above was a three stage weapon."
Edward Teller proposed a (theoretical) T-U bomb that would be in the gigaton range, but reasoned it was impractical because it'd blow off a huge part of the atmosphere into space.
Fun bonus fact! The actual amount of plutonium that achieved pure fission in the Hiroshima explosion was roughly the size of a grain of rice. E=MC^2 is a hell of a thing!

McBoinkens: think of hydrogen as having potential nuclear energy. In the same way that wood or paper has chemical energy, i.e.

C + O2 + activation threshold energy --> CO2 + additional energy given off

then, from a nuclear perspective,

H + H + activation threshold energy --> Helium + additional energy given off.

but in this case, the element hydrogen becomes helium not by changing or sharing electrons but by jamming two nuclei into one atom.

All elements have potential nuclear energy and if you pump energy in they get closer to iron on the periodic table. Higher-level elements give off additional energy when they undergo fission (e.g. uranium in power plants). Lower-level elements give off additional energy when they undergo fusion (e.g. hydrogen in a hydrogen bomb).

The only thing that you have to do is provide sufficient energy to overcome the threshold. That can be a very big amount, but if you harness it, you can use it to keep the process going in the same way that you can use a pile of wood to keep a campfire going because it generates its own heat. The sun essentially works like this.

E=mc² is wrong?

They should look for the Jesus particle. Not only the God particle. I suppose there is also a Muhammad, a Buddha and a Xenu particle too.

Yeah, but the Xenu particle goes around talking shit about the other particles and uses embarrassing gluons it stole from well-known molecules that were edited by its brainwashed quarks.

Could very well be! Maybe the 'body thetans' stick to us via gluons after they get blown up by hydrogen bombs in volcanoes! We may just be on to something! Or.. ON SOMETHING. Yeah. Maybe that is it.

Science vs. Religion: a playful comparison

And yet religion has still been responsible for more deaths... fancy that.

Men like you built the hydrogen bomb. Men like you thought it up

That makes no sense. Let us look at logic instead of being like the God-believers we assume just don’t understand…

Humanity created what? Oh! That's right! Religion... so in other words, religion has not corrupted humanity but rather humanity has corrupted religion, right? That's logical for many reasons, but the best is because we corrupt everything else.

But that means... human beings have killed, not religion. We simply blame religion because it is the faceless problem. However, religion is the excuse, not the problem! As though fabricated beliefs lead to killing.

Religion leads to war... so get rid of religion and no more war huh?
Skimpy clothes lead to rape...so get rid of loose-dressed women and no more rape.
Wealth leads to robberies...so... you get the point.

Only human ambition, greed, narcissism, and our instinctual need to slay one another are to blame for killing. Religion just makes certain people feel superior when doing it. Religion is powerless because we create it, fabricate it. If we got rid of religion, we would find another reason to keep slaying. We are addicted to killing like a smoker who continues to puff his cancer stick, a fat man who eats his double whoppers, a meth addict, a nymphomaniac, and all the other habits that kill us and that we cannot stop. Period.

If you don't believe in a fairy-tale like god, then stop believing there is a better side to humanity if we could "just leave religion in the past."

And to the person who commented on the "men like you..." say it with me, every man like every other man created the bomb. And by your logic, it was God's plan and will that an automic bomb be made... and by that logic, God made the automic bomb through our hands to murder little babies...

Holes in Heaven: Advances in Tesla Technology

I love it... OK, the thing is megawatts, but they keep wanting to say its gigawatts, so they explain how it creates an "effective gigawatt" by focusing the energy. OK, I'll allow this. THEN.. they go on to say... they wanted 10 gigawatts, and they talked about all the way up to 100 gigawatts, which if beamed for an hour and a half, would equal the power of a hydrogen bomb.

Thus HAARP is "comparable" to a hydrogen bomb!

Jimmy Carr on Scientology and Christianity

honkeytonk73 says...

>> ^spoco2:
Fantastic stuff from Carr again. And, on the money... As much as I hate Scientology, is there anything you can really level at them that you can't level at the other faiths?
Ludicrous story with no ability to marry it to any sort of reality at all? Check
Collects vast sums of money from its followers? Check
Encourages its followers to convert others to their cause or do their best to not mingle with the unbelievers if they can't? Check (oh yes, I know many Christians like this)
Has caused millions of deaths around the world for thousands of years... oh, wait, that's only the 'other' faiths.
Sorry, my bad. Scientology wins.

Things might level out a bit if you include all the millions of aliens brought to Earth on spaceships not 'unlike' DC-9 aircraft and were blown to smithereens via the use of hydrogen bombs..in volcanoes all over the Earth (though a number which were mentioned in the text did not yet exist at the time) releasing magical pest-like spirits into the environment which now cling onto our bodies and make us do bad things.

*time for a deep breath*
