I watched through to the end of the video thinking to myself "Wow, what a nice, humane thing to do for that poor creature. Heartwarming stuff. Puts a smile on my face." ♥ ♥ ♥

Then I scroll down to the comments and the first thing I see is:

As much as I enjoyed this, the cynic in me couldn't stop from feeling like this whole thing was too overly motivated by the opportunity to capture it on camera.

I'm revolted by the light-hearted way this story has been handled by this TV show and in the press, where I've seen it reported on the last few days. Sulking? I don't buy it. The husband's behaviour is bizarre and cruel and he doesn't change until he's called out on it. It's manipulative and abusive, not just to his wife, but to the whole family who've had to live with this hole in their family life for decades. It's not heartwarming or relatable, it's monstrous.

I don't comment much, so this really drew me in....

I have 2 daughters, one who is already 24 and is following in my footsteps (silly Linux system admin).... There isn't anything I would do for my kids. This is so heartwarming, I could cry, and you wouldn't want to see a 47 y/o man cry, it is just disgusting....

Never been a fan of this guy, but to support your kids to no extent is pretty heart warming. Excuse me, I have to go tell them how much I love them.

As nice and heartwarming as these videos are, they always make me feel shit about the apathetic response I got... but whatevs.

Not true really, we may have used to live in a world where everybody was born, lived and died in the same town and made holidays like that easy but we don't live in that world anymore.
Here's the part of that heartwarming little piece of crass commercialism they didn't show you. After the kids get put to bed the adults all sit gramps down and tell him that as much as they love him, if he ever pulls another stunt like that again we will bury you ourselves.

He was always my favorite Bond character. I knew little else about him before this.
Somewhat long, but a quite informative and heartwarming video.
