Oh no!
Already slow Tesla truck production is halted for multiple horrific issues like the trunk being a finger guillotine, the gas pedal cover detaching and sticking the pedal at full throttle, and a car wash voiding your warranty because apparently water kills the truck in multiple ways. Not good advertising for a “truck” that’s getting panned in reviews.
Pissed Physicist says "Follow the Science" is nonsense
I think she's describing Hume's Guillotine (http://www.philosophy-index.com/hume/guillotine/), or the is-ought problem, which is that certain statements describe what "is" and other describe what "ought to be", but you can't go from one to the other.
So it's raining outside. And if you go out side without a coat you'll get cold. So you ought to put a coat on?
Depends if you care about getting cold. The first two are facts, the last one is a choice, and the facts can't tell you what you want. The heart wants what the heart wants.

Trevor Noah EVISCERATES the Civility Argument
Guillotines are cheap and easy to build. Remember that, in the days to come.
With a soon-to-be 6-3 Corporate Conservative SCOTUS in place, I would not put money on maintaining a legal route to abortion and already civil liberties of women & LGBTQ have begun to be stripped away, with more on the way. There will be no Velvet Revolution here; buckle up.

ECB Research Bulletin:
Translation:
- all members of the eurozone effectively use a foreign currency
- they can default, because they do not and cannot issue debt in their currency
- fiscal policy has thus been completely neutered
Ergo, national parliaments have a significantly smaller policy space compared to countries with their own currency. Our parliaments intentionally surrender power to unelected technocrats, even control of the national budget, which is the primary power available to any parliament anywhere.
"Sorry, lad. We cannot pay for healthcare/pension/infrastructure/education/wages/X, we have to maintain a balanced budget to appease the market." Yet it is still illegal to call for the guillotine...
Meanwhile, Japan doesn't give a fuck. The BoJ has been vacuuming up outstanding debt like there's no tomorrow. It currently holds in excess of 40% of all government debt, effectively canceling it. It's just book-keeping. The Treasury issues the debt, the CB buys the debt. Both are part of the consolidated government sector, ergo no debt. "Hyperinflation!", they scream. Can you hear them? Except Japan has been fighting deflation for two decades, with no end in sight.
Yet the inflation-hawks are still treated as persons of authority. Flat-earthers, the lot of 'em.
And my country wants the rest of Europe to sign on to the most moronic law in German history: the "Schuldenbremse", which makes running a deficit illegal at the constitutional level (except for undefined "emergencies"). They are either a) brainwashed, b) idiots, or c) straight up evil. And I'm not sure which one I prefer.
The Best of James Randi
If you can find it check out the book about an Alice Cooper 1973 tour called "Billion Dollar Baby". James Randi was part of the tour as he designed the guillotine and gallows the band used. He's quite the character in the book.
That book is also interesting because it was written by Bob Greene, who became infamous for his own reasons. And the Cooper band members resented him for writing what they felt was a trashy skewed version of his time with them on that tour.
CRISPR-Cas9 ("Mr. Sandman" Parody) | A Capella Science
CRISPR-Cas9
Bring me a gene
Encoding for a specific protein
Make a few snips at this coded locus
You work so well inside a streptococcus
Cas9
I'm so alone
Without your scissors in my chromosome
Cut me up and do it clean
CRISPR-Cas9 bring me a gene
CRISPR-Cas9
Keep me a gene
A viral sequence you've already seen
Chopped into bits and stored as genomic
With clustered repeats
That are palindromic
Cas9
Bind with this code
Use it to target infections of old
Immunized like a vaccine
CRISPR-Cas9 keep me a gene
CRISPR-Cas9
Cut me a gene
With a precision that I've never seen
Unzip a strand and interrogate it
Seek out your sequence until you locate it
Cas9
Lock into place
And do your job as endonuclease
Chop just like a guillotine
CRISPR-Cas9 cut me a gene
Snip snap!
CRISPR-Cas9
CRISPR-Cas9
CRISPR-Cas9
Bring me a gene
By commandeering my repair routine
A strand to match your severed location
For some homologous recombination
Cas9
Cheap and precise
Rewriting genomes from microbes to mice
And soon the humble human being
CRISPR-Cas9 bring me a gene
CRISPR-Cas9
Give us a gene
Give us a miracle like that one Nazarene
‘Cause giving the lame their legs and the blind their sight is
In view for dystrophy and retinitis
But CRISPR-Cas9
What if you fall
Outside our power and inside us all
That really could incite a scene
When this terrible wonderful power unsettling
Opens the door to unethically meddle
Is ev’ry congenital malady bettered
Sufficient to warrant genetics unfettered
To modify man in the manner of Gattaca
Raise up a mammoth or make a rattata
Dramatical medical means to eradicate aging
Or cancer or make a fanatic
A mass epidemic a weapon nefarious
Single mosquito to wipe out malaria
Send in a viral infection to ferry a
Cure to the cells of an HIV carrier
Freed of disease as we're free to uncover
What nature and accident failed to discover
And free to be other than
All that we ever have been
CRISPR-Cas9
CRISPR-Cas9
Oh CRISPR-Cas9
Bring us a gene
You wondrous ribonucleoprotein
You have the power to vanquish or save us
Who would have thought that the microbe that gave us
Cas9
S. pyogenes
The source of strep and flesh-eating disease
Housed this marvellous machine
Full of uses great and obscene
CRISPR-Cas9 bring us
Please don't sting us
Cas9 bring us a gene
With adenine
And thiamine
Incite a scene
Cas9 bring us a gene!
Paternoster, the Collapsible Elevator
Why would getting on and off a paternoster be different from stepping onto a normal moving staircase (escalator)? Its just one step.
As for "I can easily imagine severed limbs" or "slow moving guillotine" web articles - I have never seen severed limbs or heads anywhere near a paternoster. Difficult to compare but I would expect accidents to be similar to escalator accidents (which can be pretty bad, Ive had one myself).
In any case paternosters are just as popular (though rare) all over central (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria) northern (Sweden, Finland), part of western Europe (Germany, England, Denmark, Netherlands), and even as far as the Austrian Empire extended southward into the Balkans (Beograd).
Electric Bug Zapper in Slow Motion - The Slow Mo Guys
It's because they're responsive that @Magicpants was able to say that the guillotine is humane - they asked some of the victims about the experience.
Beheading isn't quick. Heads are responsive for awhile after you cut them off, so they're experiencing something, and I bet they don't like it. If you're going to kill something violently, I think you need to smash up the brain ASAP.
If you're willing to drop the violence requirement, I think you'd find this useful:

Electric Bug Zapper in Slow Motion - The Slow Mo Guys
A quick but violent death is the least painful, as I imagine the guillotine is still the least painful form of execution. Probably difficult to get a flies head in the blocks though.
man claims african country to make his daughter a princess
No it's not. Let's start a rebellion! I got torches, who's bringing the guillotine?
??? Is this even legal??? How does this work?
Lethal Injection Replaced with New Head-Ripping-Off Machine
I dunno about any need for a sarcasm tag here -- I think if I was on death row and I could choose the method of my own execution, "death by large quantity of explosives" sounds pretty good.
Guillotine and hanging might be lowest on my list. Electric chair not much better. Lethal injection a bit higher. I think if I could make my own suggestions, I'd ask for cannon / howitzer aimed at my head. Barring that, I guess I'd order "the Cobain" -- shotgun to the brain. Basically, I figure that the more thorough and quick, the better.
Strap em to 100lbs of C4 , hanging over a farmer's field somewhere. That'd be painless AND good for crops too!
Lethal Injection Replaced with New Head-Ripping-Off Machine
Guillotine: (per wiki) "...as the French Revolution progressed, the National Assembly researched a new method to be used on all condemned people regardless of class. Their concerns contributed to the idea that the purpose of capital punishment was simply to end life rather than to inflict pain."
"The machine was successful as it was considered a humane form of execution,"
...and all these years later and all the current methods (chair, shots, etc) are still no better than the Guillotine. Zero progress

The Guillotine?
(Funny how some old things just pop up again.)
So many heads, so few guillotines.
