WONKA (2023 Movie) Trailer | Timothée Chalamet, Hugh Grant

newtboy says...

Why?
Who asked for this?

Can Hollywood either write or at least read some new stories, for adults, and not keep rehashing or prequelling classics…please? There’s plenty of excellent, unique books out there to draw from, and tons of history that seems more fantastical than the silliest fiction. Read some mythology, or old school fairy tales. Ancient religions are more interesting, action packed, gory, and full of unexpected twists than the best action movie ever…and done well you could teach people while entertaining them.
This looks like a bastardization of every feel good sugar sweet musical period piece in the last 20+ years. Not gonna downvote, but no thanks.

The Statue of George W. Bush

Since he also repeats the lie about the Civil war, it seems history isn't his strong point.

Albanians have a special affection for the United States, which they credit with ending their country’s Cold War isolation and leading NATO’s 1999 bombing offensive that halted ethnic cleansing of Kosovo Albanians by Serbian troops.

Belarus isn't the only place which still honours Stalin, although Georgia has torn down some of them, https://qz.com/292901/historical-statues-illegal-stalin-statues-keep-popping-up-in-gori-georgia/

That was a lot of words for never actually saying the reason Albania erected a statue of W... cause he visited there? cause they like USA? it's got to be more than that.

The Most Disturbing Painting

newtboy says...

The painting of the hunt from the movie Cabin in the Woods, a gory scene of dogs and hunters tearing apart a lamb that covered the two way mirror in the bedrooms.
Google "painting from cabin in the woods movie"....I'm not sure it's actually named.

Seeing it again, it's not as gruesome as I remembered it, but still disturbing.

Edit: also good, the ship in a storm and other dark paintings from 1408

Thanks for the promote. Do you have a link to the painting? (Googling "The Hunt from Cabin in the Woods" just gives me images of cabins in the woods!)

Slipknot on why they wear masks

newtboy says...

Understandable....but I meant I was disappointed in the video not mentioning them, not your comment.
As a group famous for being masked and gory theatrics on stage, it seemed reasonable to expect them to mention at least one of the major groups that started the genre. Maybe they do in the full version?
I was lucky enough to see GWAR in a tiny club in East Oakland in the 80's. They didn't have room for a lot of their bigger stuff, but still put on a great show in a club with at least double capacity of young punks. When it was over at about 2am, the punks spilled out into the East Oakland streets and instantly a dozen street fights broke out! What a night!

Touche, I shouldn't have left GWAR out, although I still haven't seem them live technically. They were rained out this summer at Riot Fest and all we got was a ton of fake blood shot out over everyone and a brief glimpse of their costumes. I think their equipment was probably damaged even, it went from dry as their set started to a torrential downpour traveling horizontal in seconds.

Kiss was a little before my time, so I haven't had the urge to go see them live, although I do enjoy their music and influence.

My list was only bands I've seen live =P

Thanks

Bandit is a steer, so screwing the cows isn't a concern, it's really all about the money. It takes about a hectare of grazing land per animal (see http://www.mla.com.au/Extension-and-training/Tools-and-calculators/Stocking-rate-calculator for the gory details) if you raise them outside, compared to a few square metres if you keep them chained up.

I'm a little surprised that this is allowed in a civilised country.

The surgical process for male to female sex reassignment

artician says...

This is probably an example demonstration for those looking to to have the procedure done.

I've had to make some wacky, gory, uncomfortable things before for work, but I can't imagine the dude/dudette who had to animate this thing. HA!

Regardless: amazing.

Sloppy Seconds - Watsky

eric3579 says...

Fuck you if you love a car for its paint job
Love you if you love a car for the road trips
Show me the miles and your arms and the pink scar
Where the doctor had to pull out all the bone chips
Cuz you were pressing on the gas just a bit hard
Right in the moment where the road curved a bit sharp
And when you woke up, somebody was unclipping your seat belt
and pulling you from the open window of your flipped car

Cold pizza
Tie-dye shirts
Broken hearts
Give'm here, give'm here
Hand me downs
Give me give me leftovers
Give me give me sloppy seconds
Give em here, give em here

I don't care where you've been
How many miles, I still love you [x2]

Show me someone who says they got no baggage
I'll show you somebody whose got no story
Nothing gory means no glory, but baby please don't bore me
We won't know until we get there
The who, or the what, or the when where
My favorite sweater was a present that I got a couple presidents ago
And I promised that I would rock it till it's thread bare
Bet on it
Every single person got a couple skeletons
So pretty soon, in this room
It'll just be me and you when we clear out all the elephants
Me and you and the elements

We all have our pitfalls
Beer's flat, the cabs have been called
And everybody and their momma can hear the drama
that's happening behind these thin walls

Cold pizza
Tie-dye shirts (tie-dye shirts)
Broken hearts
Give'm here, give'm here
Hand me downs (hand me downs)
Leftovers (leftovers)
Sloppy seconds
Give'm here, give'm here

I don't care where you've been
How many miles, I still love you (2x)

I don't care (cold pizza)
Where you've been (tie-dye shirts)
How many (broken hearts) miles, I still love you
I don't care (hand me downs)
Where you've been (left overs)
How many (sloppy seconds) miles, I still love you

My pattern with women isn't a flattering image
But I don't want to run away because I said so
I don't want to be the guy to hide all of my flaws
And I'll be giving you the side of me that I don't let show
Everything in fashion
That has ever happened
Always coming crashing down
Better let go
But in a couple years it will be retro
You rock Marc Ecko
My shirts have the gecko
Cuz in the past man, I was hopeless
But now's when my little cousins look the dopest
(whoop whoop)
Fuck the fashion po-po
Have a stale doughnut, I don't need no tips
Fuck a five second rule
That's a plan I never understood
It's September in my kitchen in a Christmas sweater
Sipping cold coffee on the phone with damaged goods

And there is not a single place that I would rather be
I'm fucked up just like you are, and you're fucked up just like me

Cold pizza (cold pizza)
Tie-dye shirts (tie-dye shirts)
Broken hearts
Give'm here, Give'm here
Hand me downs (oh hand me downs)
Give me give me leftovers (leftovers)
Give me give me sloppy seconds
Give'm here give'm here

I don't care where you've been
How many miles, I still love you [x2]

I don't care (cold pizza)
Where you've been (tie-dye shirts)
How many (broken hearts) miles, I still love you
I don't care (hand me downs)
Where you've been (left overs)
How many (sloppy seconds) miles, I still love you

Honest Trailers: Mad Max: Fury Road

Xaielao says...

The spectacle of it was awesome, but a good modern action film still pales in comparison to a good 80's one. Were was the blood? Besides the good guys, so you'd feelz for them and the main bad guy so you'd be like 'fuck yea! DIE MOFO!' Besides those instances there was a lot of violence and gunplay but so little carnage. Guys being shot and flying 30 feet through the air without blood splatter or wound to be seen. This movie was so hyped for its practical fx but all I saw was a lot of CG that was cleverly hidden and violence without any actual violence in it. It had an R rating not because it was gory and violent but because some random extra flashed her tit for 5 seconds. Fucking american puritanism. Calling the plot thin is an understatement.. it was literally consisted of half a page of writing.

Over-all fun movie with some cool spectacle. But still pale imitation of the original.

Brutal Doom Version 19 Trailer

9547bis says...

It's kind of odd that Doom is remembered for being fast and gory. When it came out, what made it a hit was that it was dark (not the same as 'gory') and tactical (i.e. simple but very well thought out enemies/weapons balance).

Games like RoTT or MK were much more bloody, and back then 90% of the players were keyboarders playing on 386 or early 486, so the game as experienced by most people was hardly 'fast'. I was playing on a 486 DX33 (that's right, 33Mhz of gamin goodness. Suck on that Core i5!) and could not get full screen + full details to be fluid.

VoodooV says...

sorry, but it cracks me up that they have people holding that sheet up to block the view from the public.

I get it and I even approve of it...people don't need to see that sort of thing especially if things got really nasty and gory. It just makes me smirk for some reason.
