Let's Talk About Bathrooms
Have you ever been in a woman's bathroom? I have. There's no urine in there. I mean, on the floor. I know, right? I always thought that was universal; public bathroom = swimming in urine, globs of wet tissue, and I just threw up a little thinking of the other stuff.
Women's bathrooms aren't anything like that. Sometimes one of them doesn't dispose of a tampon right, which can be yucky, but otherwise: no urine. Doesn't even smell that bad!
Don't get me wrong. I'm all for a unified society and breaking down gender roles and segregation, but I wouldn't force a men's room on anyone.
Oh FFS ,why do we even have gendered bathrooms anyway? Just have a room with a bunch of urinals and a separate room with a bunch of stalls. Use one if you can urinate standing up and the other if you want to sit down.
People need to get over this and stop being so fucking precious.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Abortion Laws
Coming back to the topic, anti-abortionists do not realize that you cant force people to be your version of moral.
You can enforce common concepts of morality by law but you first have to stop lying to yourselves about what those common concepts are and then be willing to accept a compromise.
An overwhelming majority of educated, civilized people now (as oppposed to a hundred years ago) believe (yep that stupid word again) that women, non-whites, marihuana smokers and liberals AND social democrats AND atheists, among others, are acceptable members of society capable to decide on their own what is good and bad, moral and immoral. Not just the grumpy rich old white anglo-saxon gentlemen club members anymore.
It is not a good tactic to try to decide approved morality for these "other" people either by means of social or real slavery, legislation, economic pressure or plain old brute force or gunpoint.
Rubio mentioned (off of one of his implanted CD´s) in one of the debates something about liberals wanting to legalize abortions to up to one day before the scheduled birth. It doesn´t get much more stupid than that.
Trump apparently switched to pro-life a couple of years ago in a press release.
Cruz favours condoms over abortion (which is IMHO fine BTW), oblivious to what the true christian stance is on condoms.
So anyway it is very difficult for the majority of civilized, educated people to accept this notion that ALL abortion is immoral and should be illegal just because SOME people maintain that view based on ideology and belief.
Once you get that in your head you can start having a discussion about which possible abortion cases are really immoral and unacceptable and in which cases you should concentrate on helping the woman rather than the little glob of cells trying to survive in a hostile environment.
If you REALLY want babies to survive you have to help the women, Bob, you cant go against them.

Howdy - sorry for the delay, was traveling on business. The issue you are referring to below with regards to reusable water bottles is I believe related to the type of liner (thin coating of polymer based material that is coated on the inside of some but not all of these bottles). In most cases when polymers come in contact with food (incl. water) the concerns are usually not in the polymer itself, but in some of the additives (processing aids, plasticizers, anti-oxidants, UV stabilizers, pigments etc) that in some cases have negative impacts on some human metabolic processes. I would emphasize 'some'. The recent outrage over BPA is not supported unequivocally by scientific evidence, but there is enough uncertainty to move away from it as a plasticizer in PET bottles. If one was to use a food grade polyethylene or polypropylene water bottle, requiring no liner, and totally suitable as a water bottle, then there is no concern at all with the long term use of this material in water bottles. Next time you go through the grocery store, have a look at all the packaging - films on processed meets, stretch wrap on fresh meat cuts, all of your cold dairy products - the vast majority of these are made from one of either polyethylene or polypropylene, with a smattering of polystyrene and polyvinylidene chloride thrown in. All perfectly safe.
As for how the balls are made - these are blow molded. If you have a look at the plastic baseballs made for kids that come with a big fat plastic bat (or really any hard plastic ball that you might find at Wal Mart or Toys'R'Us, you'll see the small ridge that runs equatorially around the circumference of the ball (that's the parting line where the two mold halves come together) and somewhere on that line there will be either a little tiny hole or a small protruding knob that used to be the parison where the air was injected into the small plastic glob forcing it to the walls of the mold like an expanding balloon. This is the same type of molding that makes your liquid dishwashing detergent bottle, plastic ketchup and mustard containers, and plastic milk jugs. Hope this helps a bit. cheers
I admit this is something I know little about so I have a couple of questions if you don't mind... There seems to be a concern about what reusable water bottles are made of. So you're supposed to use a certain type or the plastic (and this may be the wrong term) leeches into your water and then I don't know exactly what, but you probably die some horrible death maybe like in the toxic avenger. So one question is... Is that true (or maybe a less exaggerated version)? The second one I think you may have answered is... Are these injection molded? I can't comprehend how these would be made. I think I need a How it's Made to wrap my mind around this. Thanks.
Debunking MSG myth
Understanding why so much anecdotal evidence exists is certainly worthwhile! The following link cites many studies on double blind tests for MSG sensitivity.
http://www.businessinsider.com/msg-allergy-doesnt-exist-2013-8
Glutamatic acid (which is what MSG turns into after solubilizing in water, along with a sodium ion) is one of the 20 amino acids that is the basis for all proteins and life, since the beginning of life on earth. It is in relatively high concentration in every cell of your body. Consuming MSG would be akin to consuming 'protein' in your diet, and is commonly labeled as protein in food labeling: http://www.truthinlabeling.org/hiddensources.html
Consuming too much protein in your diet can cause problems, but you need to be eating it to a relatively obvious excess (a gallon of milk per day). Weightlifters who protein supplement far too much quickly experience heart problems.
The business insider link suggests that there are some people who could potentially be sensitive to Glutamate, and be activating the vagus nerve in the stomach...though it seems to be speculative in that article.
The idea that another ingredient is causing the problem is far more likely. Americanized chinese restaurants all taste the same, because all of their food comes from the same place. A group in China has monopolized the american chinese restaurant market, and provides food and resources at unbeatably low prices. To remain competitive, almost all american chinese restaurants invariably purchase from this group. Given China's track record of putting all kinds of crazy stuff in their produce, it seems entirely likely that some ingredient other than MSG is a much more likely culprit.
I know a couple of people in particular who have reacted extremely badly to chinese restaurants in america, and even went to the emergency room for it. Given the details of their story (a mystery glob of black sauce that they ate from the black sauce egg tray), I could only imagine what kind of horrible things they could have ingested other than MSG. 'Chinese restaurant syndrome' may indeed be a relatively accurate term for what people are experiencing.
Food Channel Contest Time (Food Talk Post)
Made these last night-I call em:

Chewy Sugar Cookies (monster version)
2 3/4 cups flour (sifted with:)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
I cup (2 sticks) salted, butter (softened)
1 1/2 cups whole cane sugar
1 egg
1tsp (or to taste) vanilla extract
3-6 tbsp buttermilk
some ground cinnamon, and some more sugar for later
sift dry ingredients into bowl
in a separate bowl, cream sugar, extract, egg, and a small glug of buttermilk until creamy
mix wet and dry ingredients and add just enough extra buttermilk to make the mix slightly sticky but not wet (or, the opposite of how you like your women)
NOW comes the monster part:
Add to dough, some pure grated coconut (unsweetened), dried cranberries, and fresh almonds that have been hit with the coffee grinder to chop and powder a bit)
Place the dough in the freezer while you preheat the oven to 375°F
on an un-greased cookie sheet, place small dollops of dough that has been rolled in some of the coconut/almond mix you set aside extra
on top of each dollop that you flatten slightly with a fork, brush-on some buttermilk on each dough-glob, then sprinkle with a sugar and a ground cinnamon mix
Bake for 8-10 minutes on second-to-top oven rack
Real panty-droppers these, bet ya can't eat just five
Bigger Pizzas: A Capitalist Case for Health Care Reform
Which leads me to the drum I've always beat on the issue of heath and happiness in the land of Planet Chaos: The success of the health care anomaly in the U.S. is predicated on a chaotic decline in the overall health of the general population, that's how that machine makes ungodly amounts of money, as a partner-in-crime with insurance (mafiosi-style protection) companies and medical professionals (dealers/cleaners/fixers/hit-men) who, partnered with successful criminals like advertising execs and processed-foods concerns, insure for future generations a steady dose of being continually ill and feeling like they are about to die. Combine these psychotics with keeping peeps too distracted with $(illusion)$ and work to think clearly and the bulk of a country's population addicted to misdirection, newsspeak, and intentional reinforcement of intent and "responsibility" to the programming-arm (television, internet, regulated and controlled media ) of the above-described machine, and you have a bunch of robots thinking that they are about to die who are easily herded into the cattle truck of indentured-for-life, wage-slavery.
The best health care system is one where the majority of the population of a country is relatively healthy up and until the moment of cascading failures associated with time.
The system we have now or any fix, will only work to the benefit of all with a nation of fit people, not fat, lazy, ignorant globs of flesh who are incapacitated through the negative reinforcement described above, and the perpetrators of the same, eliminated....Or, put these criminals in a box or prison or otherwise not allowed to work their evil.
In other words, the United States health care system has been designed to implode upon itself with the criminals who built it, fleeing to their fortified compounds to be protected by dutiful armies and local constabularies, otherwise known as PAID BODY GAURDS.
Insane Man Runs Up Molten Glowing Lava Flow
D'you see that glob of lava that was stuck to his heel for a second? Yikes.
Watch out for that last step; it's a doozy.

Self Stirring Pot
That was my exact thought too.
>> ^Sagemind:
The purpose of stirring food as it cooks is not to make it go in circles but to separate the pieces of food and stop it from sticking.
With this, everything still sticks together but now it also spins as one big glob...

Was that on purpose??????
Not the fire that started on the ground causing everyone to start running for life.
My brother explained it to me somewhat, there was liquid fuel in the lines and when they opened up the valve to start the flare stack thus supplying it with the fuel source ( vapor to be burned). That liquid is from a fuckup of theirs as the fuel condensed in the lines and was pushed out by the vapor and it landed causing pools and the flare was shooting out globs of liquid on fire and it fell onto the ground lighting the pools of fuel on fire.
THIS is how ya learn the hard way
Help with Online Web Galleries. (Art Talk Post)
>> ^campionidelmondo:

I dunno how you'd do it using CS5 software, but using a server-side scripting language like PHP it'd be a matter of a couple of lines of code to enumerate through one folder (of thumbnails) and display each one as a link that points to the bigger image ... given that they have some similarity in name (e.g. the thumbnail of 1.jpg is named 1_tn.jpg or named the same but in a 'thumb' subfolder...).
Beat me to the punch, campioni.
1. From the Bridge side you'll want to run a batch Image Processing to generate your thumbnails (might want to run one action for resizing landscape photos versus run another action for resizing portrait photos). I believe Batch options are in the Tools > Photoshop > Batch menu.
2. From the website end you'll absolutely want to use a more dynamic language (PHP, ASP) to traverse your images/thumbs directories and dynamically generate your gallery. Do not do this manually with static HTML!
3. Fancy up your presentation with pagination (via PHP/ASP) and a lightbox-esque modal window popup for the images when clicking on the thumbnails (I'm personally a fan of Shadowbox but these are a dime a dozen).
Good luck!
