In the mid 70's, my grandfather would wake me up at 3am on full moon nights to go hunt nutria at the family ranch on lake Austin with .22s. Find the two glowing spots in the water and aim right between them. We didn't collect tails, just kept score. He almost always won, but I was 5+-. Mostly I just spotted them for him.
I know the damage they can cause, I wish eradication was a possibility, but I think people will be gone before they are. Tenacious little bastards.

Winter (and its full moon) also means that you cant watch stars or planets nearly as well, since the light of the moon is interfering a lot. Also the cold weather is bad for telescope mirrors because they will fog up or even freeze over.

Not to mention that I like winter because its so dark and making siting at home very cozy. Having a full moon all night long destroys that feeling.

my father was in vietnam and taught me to hunt, and I'm passing it onto my kids who also love to hunt.

I taught my wife to frog gig, we go out during full moon in a jon boat, I shine spotlight, while she gigs.

Also rabbit hunting on full moon with spotlight is good, course there are old wives tales about hunting rabbit on full moon or the meat will be bad

I don't see what's hard to understand about the fun and thrill of the hunt. watch any hunting, fishing videos and listen to the "hoots and hollers" of excitement.
