So, the story behind this video and song (or part of the story -- there's so much going on!) is that this kid was being coerced into a form of ritual circumcision by his community. It's culturally mandatory within his ethnic group, so much so that if you are a young man and you do not participate, you are completely ostracized. It's hardcore.
The thinking, and this is communicated pretty bluntly to the young men, is that if you don't participate, you're gay. You're effeminate. You're not a real man. You never mature from being a boy to being a man.

Again, even if I accept your basic premise, your logic is still flawed. If I bribe a bank security guard to look the other way while I rob his bank, the right response to that is to say "that bank should be more careful about who it hires" not "the entire practice of banking should be abolished."

Same for you and government -- if you don't like corporations buying influence in our government, you should be trying to find a way to limit their opportunities to do so (like campaign finance reform), or voting for people who are a lot less cozy with business than the people you like to vote for.

As for "make government smaller," that's no solution. All that does is create a power vacuum, one corporations step in to fill themselves. It doesn't level the playing field, it tilts it even more towards the people who already run things now.

If you're interested in getting out from under the thumb of people with too much power, you need to focus your sights on trying to reduce income and wealth disparity, and help try to return us to a more egalitarian society, rather than going out and trying to help the rich and powerful fuck us all over.

Well, this is what happens when you combine:
1) Training people to kill, and as such treat the enemy as subhuman as a way to handle doing that
2) Men who aren't that bright to begin with
3) Video games like COD etc. which have reduced warfare and killing to be 'fun', and teaching the correct response to a victory to be tea bagging or worse.

I guarantee that these men see the Taliban as less than human, and if asked if they'd piss on a member of their own troop's dead body they'd cry foul and say 'No man, that's disrespectful'. But think that it's ok here because these men were 'the enemy' and 'just towel heads'.

War is fucked on all these levels. It's people killing each other, it's making some people dead, and the alive a bit dead inside.

That said, I used to live in the Bay Area. People avoid Oakland like nothing else. There is enough prejudice, racism, violence and murderous underworld there that it's like Northern California's own piece of Southeast LA. More so in some cases given that it doesn't get nearly as much press, and so a lot of things go down there that the media doesn't even cover.

I feel for the guy if this really went down the way we're told. I don't feel that any of us can rest without the entirety of the United States police force receiving massive legal repercussions and official reprimandation for the numerous offenses we've seen throughout this "occupy" fiasco. If this is what the bottom line comes down to for the majority of urban police in the US, then fuck them all. All I know is that Obama is losing control, and is not the man in shining armor we all 'HOPE'D he would be. I never said it wasn't crap either. In fact I agreed that it was fake and pointed out that it's no more fake than the movies and TV shows every one enjoys. I don't need to relax. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean WE ALL have to not like it. Say you liked dub step for instance. I don't really consider that music. I also find it hilarious how everyone rails on how fake wrestling is, but fake fights in movies and TV are perfectly OK to watch. Makes no fucking sense. All wresting is is bad skits with bad acting and some fake movie/stunt fighting. Some of us like it. We as fans KNOW it's fake. They (the wrestlers) KNOW it's fake, and they (the wrestlers) KNOW that we KNOW it's fake. But part of the fun is seeing how good at FAKING it they are. Nice move insulting my intelligence.
