I recovered a woman that jumped from 17 stories and landed on the lawn after a short rainfall. She landed on her side halfway into the ground. She was only about 115 lbs. I doubt she accidently fell over the railing though. I suppose she could have been just answering the "call of the void." Don't know what the outcome of the investigation was.

meh. thats a weak bonfire. They didnt have a central support so it leaned and fell over way early. They didnt ignite it properly so it only burned on one side making it fall over prematurely. The materials used was weak also which weaken the structure.

it was pretty lame actually. I wouldnt even call it a bonfire.

I'm just going by my limited experience from the 80's when I spent 2 weeks there. At one point we went to a public hot spring that had cement pools that the water cascaded down, making what looked like a giant set of stairs going down a hillside. Some kids were there, playing in a few by throwing small rocks back and forth. At one point, a 14+- year old boy stood up, and in a calm measured tone said "Excuse me. I would appreciate it if you would stop throwing stones."...and they did. We fell over laughing, knowing that an American teen has never once in all recorded history been so polite and adult when dealing with other kids, nor would American kids respond by stopping.
We didn't meet a single rude kiwi.

They probably didn't let the lions hunt it because there would be a chance of the lions being injured during an actual hunt (for example, if the giraffe fell over on top of one of the lions).

Also, there is probably not enough room in the zoo for an open hunt. And it seems even crueler than killing the giraffe outright. The animal will run for its life in terror and might even evade the lions for a while but since the hunt must take place in an enclosed area there's no hope of escape for it.

And as others have mentioned, the death itself would be a lot more painful.

It did not give Gojira the runs, but I didn't make a habit of it. If I were going to nurse a cat from kittenhood, I'd use kitten replacement milk from the pet store.
