Ohio GOP Primary Debate

newtboy says...

We’ve been over this. Repeatedly.
He was trolling them, as he often did. This was his style. It just goes over your head.
If he’s one of the dumb ones, Democrats are hyper intelligent super brains. I certainly don’t think that.

Johnson grew up in Washington, D.C. His father worked for the Bureau of Prisons and was the director of classifications and paroles. Up to that time, he was the highest ranking African-American in the bureau.
Johnson received his B.A. degree from Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University) in 1976, is a member of Omega Psi Phi Kappa Alpha Alpha Chapter, Decatur, Georgia, and received his J.D. degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston in 1979; he practiced law in Decatur, Georgia, for more than 25 years.

From 1989 to 2001, Johnson served as an associate judge of the DeKalb County magistrate's court. He was elected to the DeKalb County Commission in 2000 and served from 2001 to 2006.

Edit: "The subtle humor of this obviously metaphorical reference to a ship capsizing illustrated my concern about the impact of the planned military buildup on this small tropical island," Johnson said in a statement at the time.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported last year that Johnson has battled Hepatitis C for more than a decade, an ailment that causes him to get "lost in thought in the middle of a discussion."

He’s hardly dumb. I know it’s hard to know from your viewpoint, but you’ve been well informed before….you could TRY to remember a few facts you are taught.

That said, there do seem to be real reasons why he should retire, not the least of which is hep C that’s recently left him sick and weak. You don’t need to be dishonest to make your point, bob. Why are you?

Always dishonest Bob. Every time you post. It’s really sad. Sour grapes have rotted your brain.

Edit: BTW, this isn’t just two out of control, violent Retrumpicans, they are representative of all Trumpists, and this display was done to appeal to people just like you, Bobby, and be your actual representatives.

Thanks SFOGuy. Nothing my father told me about how the dishwasher worked is true. I didn't see ONE ANT in that machine let alone thousands! Mom was right. "Don't believe your father. And yes, the stork brought you."

Vote While It Counts

newtboy says...

Debunked above…..
You know what it does have? Prison time for Republicans who go to senior assisted public housing posing as election workers helping seniors (many non English speaking) update their voting registration (not something needed in Florida), sometimes telling them they need a NEW voting card, but in reality they were secretly changing their party affiliation to Republican and were Republican campaign staffers, this just happened in Miami. Only being changed Democrat to Republican, not being changed Republican to Democrat.

That’s why the right hates this bill. It criminalizes election fraud, and would put thousands (or more) of you in prison and end so many Republican campaigns for fraud that the party would disappear. ALL that fraud you moan and cry about was Republicans defrauding the election, subverting democracy, and pissing on the constitution they wrap themselves in and pretend to love.

Imagine your outrage if Democrats went to your 7th grade graduate father and tricked him into registering Democrat….then came back on Election Day to help with his ballot. Apparently you’re fine with that, or you would support election reform. It’s telling that Republicans are against criminalizing election fraud, isn’t it?

It does not have mandatory ID to vote.

It allows un attended voting boxes.

It allow vote gathering.

None of this is secure.

The Death Couloir - Mont Blanc

StukaFox says...

No, I'm all in favor of Morons--

However, I'm not in favor of the amazing people in SAR putting their lives on the line to recover the smears lefts on rocks that used to be these people. Living in WA, we have a lot of "really wants to kill you" wilderness here, including North Cascades Nat'l Park and Olympic Nat'l Park. Every single year, someone's predated body needs to be pulled out of the middle of one of these places by either a helo crew or the poor bastards who have to hike a bazillion miles to pack out what's left of Chuckles.

The number of SAR people who've died here is sobering. Every single one of them could have just walked away, but they went into danger's way to save people too stupid to save themselves. Sometimes their reward is to be spit on, like the ranger at Yellowstone who was berated by the father of a kid who dived into a hot spring after his dog (by "kid", I mean adult kid, not Timmy). The father wanted his kid's body recovered, no matter what. The ranger had to explain that the kid completely dissolved about five minutes after he fell in. The father then refused to speak to the ranger any further.

This shit doesn't happen in a vacuum. Someone's going to have to look at these human bird droppings and see that shit in their sleep for the rest of their lives.

No problem whatsoever with waivers. Are you worried that too many brain dead slugs will Darwin themselves? Why? Do you foresee some future shortage of morons?

Aren’t you going to tell us all about 7 year old victim Lachlan Leary, son of Steve Leary, who died from his Covid vaccination?
Or are you afraid of getting caught spreading another ridiculous right wing lie?

Steve Leary, claiming to be an Australian father of a (now dead) 7 year old son who died directly from his vaccination, is becoming a right wing folk hero for posting his story…..problem is there’s no record of this child, there’s no record of his death or any child death from vaccination, and Steve Leary turns out to be a mayor in Winter Park Florida, not an Australian father….but the story lives on and I’m certain you would believe it were it not pre-debunked.

cloudballoon says...

Better be cynical then just lapping up these same 'ol same 'ol regressive marketing snooze-fest ads.

My first reaction to it was, if the father treasures the car and memories (the photo) so much, why not even get a full-body cover to protect it from the elements? This dumb holiday message/ad can't even get emotions right.

After 60 Years, Tab Cola is being discontinued

Tab was my father's favorite drink when it came out.

Just thought I'd mention it in case you are ever asked on a radio quiz show.

US sues to block TX abortion law

bobknight33 says...

Nazi killed people
Abortion kills people

This bill helps stops the killing.

So how is this comparable ?

Having the father / grand parents a legal recourse against murdering doctors is not
not a bad thing.

Don't think the Uber driver or school teachers desiring to cash in on this.

What newt said.

Should bother you, being interested in history - statues and all - but this is comparable to what the Nazis did w/the Gestapo.

They used neighbors against neighbors. They projected strength while doing very little themselves. Sounds chillingly the same as the TX GOP.

If it talks like a fascist, legislates like a fascist - it ain't a duck.

Trust this; you and your words are a better reason for being pro-choice.

Why not push vasectomies? If American fathers took their sons down to the clinic for reversible vasectomies it might be the key to this entire debate. Couple this with mothers taking daughters for contraception, the country might become a squirrel paradise.

A nut anytime they felt the need.

Exactly. Liberals don't get it, they want every state to be like New York or California even if they already live in those failed states.

Here's a pro-tip to the Portland libs that moved to Texas, move back to your shitty lefty state.

Last, abortion is murder.

Texas man strips down to make a point about vaccination

luxintenebris says...

believe the idea is that all of us do or don't engage in things that we don't necessarily enjoy (or enjoy). either for legality or decency or the stir, it causes...

- breastfeeding
- pistol wearing in town
- hats at weddings/funerals/churches
- shutting off cells at the same and more
- wheels on busy sidewalks
- not heckling the priest's sermon ("YOU SUCK FATHER!")*

some of these are up to the person, some not as bad as others, but common sense SHOULD guide sane people.

'tho if COVID becomes a public health crisis (ala Black Death-esque) they'll find where their freedom meets real oppression (Thyphoid Mary on a large scale).

https://www.americanbar.org/news/abanews/publications/youraba/2020/youraba-april-2020/law-guides-legal-approach-to-pandemic/

personally, the idea that I could end up killing someone quickly replaced my health concerns. if found someone died because wasn't wearing a mask - would kill me.

so, in short, hope any/or all of these blunts find themselves in a situation where their car won't start. and no one will help them 'til them mask up.

"just need a part!"
"not until you observe our policy of public health! here's a mask...and if you'd put on shoes and a shirt..."

bet they'd do it for their f'n car. but for little bobby or old man Thorney?

...hope a camel w/a huge lip blister kisses them straight on the mouth.

reminds me of a song...

If he is for mandatory masks his (sarcastic?) argumentation style is going to antagonize people who do not already agree with him.

Indoor Tornado

psycop says...

The creator put some answers in the comments:

How the heck did i make it?

The living room of my father's place had a very strong ceiling fan, which could go in reverse. Instead of blowing air down, it would pull the air up. That would create an updraft strong enough to sustain the vortex. Next, I had a box fan and a blanket set up to redirect the air flow so it rotated around the center of the room. You can see it as the dark blue object in the back right. After the fans were turned on, I laid out an old dark red bed sheet with a small PVC pipe underneath it connected to a fog machine. The bed sheet allowed the fog to gently seep through and get pulled into the vortex, as opposed to being blasted out of the pipe. And then it was all a matter of letting the ceiling fan's updraft and the box fan's rotation mix into a 10 ft tall indoor tornado!!
