Tortoise Wins by a Hare

LooneyTunesForever says...

People. Watch this on Boomerang Africa. The whole thing is uncut. Even Spacetoon, except for that part where Cecil's wife was setting up cards, and before you could see that scene, the scene fades out. I actually fell for it, until this year when I watched it for the first time in about 2-4 years.

Automator - It's Over Now (Kool Keith & Dan the Automator)

MrFisk says...

[Talking voice]
Yeah man, just left town man
I'm here, here
Had to get outta town baby
Where you stayin' now?
You can pick me up at the round busstation
Or I can take a plane
There's your cab? I'll be right over
It's gonna be a few sec, and I'll tell you what went down

[Kool Keith]
I stayed in New York, depressed, walkin' mad through the block
Watching brothers go down, my project friends smoking rock
My group divided and everthing was undecided
I was drinking, thinking: "Damn, man, my boat is sinking"
Everybody's wack and new groups comin' back
They on Arsenio, booty's on video
Watch this clown rhyme that's paid for on primetime
Everybody's mean, they're hard, they're killing mothers
Shootin' bang bang, fakin man killing brothers
I had to turn off the radio from all the Walt Disney
Mickey Mouse and friends all talking pop and lippy
Girls excited for what? And over-infatuated
People got their brain washed and folks got manipulated
They start beleiving Donald Duck made the earth
The industry was cursed since the Dinosaur's birth
(The industry was cursed since the Dinosaur's birth)

[Chorus]
It's over now
No problems in this world
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl
It's over now
My mind was in a twirl
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl
It's over now
No problems in this world
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl
It's over now
My mind was caught up in a twirl
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl

[Kool Keith]
Flying nighttime, eating peanuts on the plane
With no moneycontrol, my stress builds on my brain
My ticket's oneway
I'm out to southern Caliway
I left behind some people that wasn't even equal
I thought back with chicks and freaks in 86'
When Marley was in in control +the funky magic mix+
I had the limousine on hold with the real chauffeur
Ripped the ???? up with Ultra and I felt like Oprah
Girls in flocks and fans in lines from blocks
I didn't even hear a peep of you rappin' mister
I was your idol and probably on your older sister
Now you bad you signed stupid with a recorddeal
Your image is butt you perpertrating Shootin' Steel
Holdin' guns on albumcovers just to make funds
You the man quick fast payed out the ?anoass?
You can see I'm back and clear on stereo
with my own style, my intimite material

[Talking voice]
Ye, your style changed every year
Think about what you did
Used to dance, used to wear suits
Then you came back to wearing hip-hop clothes
Then you went back to wearing suits

[Chorus]
It's over now
No problems in this world
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl
It's over now
My mind was caught up in a twirl
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl

[Kool Keith]
No accountant, my lawyer keepin' checks on the low
Money, expenses for trips I didn't know
Agencies finding shows I could get myself
Writing rhymes at night in the house by myself
I open mailboxes, all I see was more bills
Gettin' cold chicken, walkin' down Bronx hills
Askin' moms for 50 cent, just to pay my rent
I had no will to ill, my mind was out to kill
I called up Kurt, got a big deal signed with Capitol
Money's flowin' now wild suckas out blowin' up
They my pupic care, and pupils still growin' up
Sucking mean while the g'ism as it hits the rhythm
They want that new style, no money it's called freestyle
Taping off the radio, smokin' from my crack vial
They on my tip now, as always as usual
You forgot me, but I didn't forget you

[Chorus]
2x It's over now
No problems in this world
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl
It's over now
My mind was caught up in a twirl
It's over now
I'm home chillin' with my girl

God, I hate motion blur...

man i thought it was just me who hated motion blur so much

Motion blur isn't all bad, but when it's applied at such amounts as this it's retarded as hell. Just a tiny TINY fraction of motion blur makes everything slightly more real.

That tiny bit of motion blur (actually I feel like its A LOT as well), you have anyway if youre using a LCD screen. So I really dont know why they add it in games on top of it too.

LCDs have a fade out effect, but it only affects pixels that change.
Think of a small object traveling very quickly across the sceen. Only the pixels in each frame will have the fade out, but "good" motion blur will actually make the animation look smoother.
Of course motion blur is like 3D... developers try to make it obvious and end up using way too much of the effect.

Nope, its exactly that. Motion blur. Things around you get blurry when you look around. Thats also why people cant tell that well anymore if its 60 fps now or 100. It makes the motion look smoother, but also makes things blurry. Try an old CRT again, the picture is crystal clear when you move around. On an LCD its blurry as hell.
So using motion blur on an LCD is like putting a gas tank into a gas tank.

It can be similar, but if something is moving fast enough that its individual frames aren't touching and the background is stationary then an LCD does nothing to connect those frames. Motion blur does (depending on the particular implementation).

An LCD always has motion blur when something is moving. If it slow, you just dont see it that well. Actually LCD motion blur is more realistic, since it isnt so overdone as the artifically implemented stuff.

Oslo Bomber and Utoya Shooter's Manifest

Pprt says...

You've presented a thoughtful and considerate reply, DerHasisttot. Thank you.

The most basic argument I have presented is the erosion and eventual fading out of a particular population, and this is the crux of what I would like to focus on. The premise can be applied to any element of biodiversity.

The metaphor of an endangered species of duck is still apt.

My assumption was correct in that you, as most people, would find justification for mobilizing efforts in ensuring this particular population is given a chance to exist. For whatever reason, you have deemed this species of duck worth your concern and you do not hesitate to voice your consternation. Another assumption I will make is that the same can be said of any population that contributes to the precious diversity of our world and faces existential challenges. Whether it be a rare beetle, some exotic bush or the giant panda.

I like to think a noble feature of humanity is our desire for fairness and that we should not stand by while something is endangered. We both probably share this in common.

The above considered, I plead that because a particular civilization finds itself below replacement level it is in a perilous state and merits attention. This is a conclusion that, again, assumes an overreaching, unfettered respect for diversity.

Just as you should care for a particular duck, it would not negate your concern for other types of mallards, waterfowl or any other species. Your sense of justice would be shared equally.

You must extend your own desire to protect a unique given species to the right of a nation to maintain its own identifying characteristics. Realize that the desire for prosperity and sustained existence of a nation does not by definition mandate the impingement on another.

If you can not grasp this sympathy you display for a bird and apply it to another context, you are intellectually dishonest.

On the other hand, if like GenjiKilpatrick you harbour a sense that "whites" deserve to be eradicated because of who they are... you're barely human.

Ministry - Bad Blood

BoneRemake says...

What's lies?
Full moon and thoughts collide
We look for answers in those catatonic, dying blod-shot eyes
We ask if vermin are the ones that already learned
Those aren't tears,
They're just bad bad blood

Just bad bad blood!

What lies?
No big surprise.
We get our clues from the ones who thought up they will conquer us
Are we too fucked to say the end is here too much?
We're in denial with bad blood

[Chorus:]

[wailing sample:]
Do you remember the strain?
Do you remember the pain?
Do you remember who caused all the blame?

Bad Blood!

[wailing sample:]
Do you remember me?
Do you remember us?
Do you surrender your dreams or your trust?

Bad Blood!

What lies?
He's finally come alive
Out of these mediocre plentiful things all the time
A steady stream of madness
Conscious to a flood
The clock is ticking for Bad Blood

[Chorus.]

I honestly never pay attention about the video,I just LOVE their music and her voice

In reply to this comment by jmzero:
I like her voice too, and I think there's potential here... For this one, I think they should have bumped up her levels - the instruments aren't doing much interesting - and generally I don't think this is a great song for her.

Less important, but much worse: the video is really bad, worse than the high school bands I see now. Just the band altogether playing in some rocks (shot from a few angles) during the day would have been fine. Generic, but fine. Or have a little story or something if you want, but if you do that you need to commit a bit. Or have her just kind of randomly walking in a cave, like 1/3 of 1980s videos. But what they got - her just kind of rocking like that, randomly interspersed with thunder, quick shots of someone else (with distracting transitions and time shift), and repeated "fade out" cliches - is distractingly bad.
