Trump is currently being supported by the active KKK membership and leaders as well as multiple racist hate groups. He has not renounced them or said he doesn't want their votes, instead he claims he doesn't know who David Duke is despite having discussed him at length in prior interviews and calls them good people, his tough guys. Democrats have renounced the KKK and racists publicly for decades. Derp.

Robert Byrd served as U.S. Representative for the state of West Virginia from 1953 to 1959, and as a U.S. Senator from 1959, until his death in 2010 ( here ).

Byrd was not a Grand Wizard or leader of the Klan. He was, however, a former organizer and member of the KKK. A Washington Post article reviewing Byrd’s memoir explains these years in more detail. Byrd later renounced his membership to the organization, although his early record in Congress on race and civil rights was mixed. For example, Byrd partook in a lengthy filibuster effort against the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but supported the 1968 civil rights act . A Democrat but conservative in values, Byrd decades later also criticized President Bill Clinton’s decision to push for the legalization of gay marriage.

In a 2006 CNN interview, Byrd expressed regret for the filibuster and called his time in the Klan the greatest mistake of his life.
In 2005, Byrd commented on his past membership of the Klan in his memoir and in an interview with the Washington Post said, "I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times … and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."

During the 2008 presidential race, Byrd endorsed Barack Obama.

At the time of his death, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a leading civil rights organization formed in 1909 for the advancement of racial equality and elimination of racial discrimination, issued a statement mourning his passing. The NAACP’s President and CEO remarked: "Senator Byrd reflects the transformative power of this nation. Senator Byrd went from being an active member of the KKK to a being a stalwart supporter of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act and many other pieces of seminal legislation that advanced the civil rights and liberties of our country”. Whoa. That caption... Really? All you heard was an untrained singing voice?

This brought me to tears. Our "half white" president stopped editing himself and sang in the tradition of the church he attended for 20 years in Chicago.

I couldn't be more proud of him. What an incredible human being.

So many cyclists are unbelievable assholes too. 95% have no clue what the laws regarding cyclists are, and 95% of those couldn't care less.

All the times I've seen a cyclist become road pizza, they've either been doing something stupid, or making a foolish assumption they're in the right because they aren't doing something stupid.

Being in the right on a bike is only good for chatting up the hot trauma nurse, or a decent start for your eulogy.

They'll stop eulogizing about it when the people who hate them stop eulogizing against them and trying to convince society that they need to be treated as something less than human. Or more likely, when society as a whole recognizes their homophobic rants as the soulless and intellectually stunted ideas that they are and ignores them, without an audience they will lose any power they once had and can privately stew in their own hate as much as they like.

I got so upset watching this as it felt like i was listening to Hitch's eulogy. If there is a God, then I would humbly ask him to allow one of the best brains he has created to remain with us for many more years.

Ólafur Arnalds is one of my favourite musicians. I can listen to Eulogy for Evolution on a loop and be moved every time.

He'd probably be entertaining reading a grocery list. He makes a great villian..he's kind of like Christopher Walken that way..or James Woods..remember cliffhanger? He was such a charming bastard in that movie..

If I am not mistaken, these are effects shots from the original series.

That looked like it could have been easily fatal for a bystander (or one of the masked heroes) with just about any variation in the situation. A miniature Batmobile is certainly one of the more exotic items to be killed with. It is rich material for the one tasked with eulogizing.
