So, you liked Kill Bill?

9547bis says...

If you liked Suzuki's visuals and cinematography, I can only recommend Tokyo Drifter, a Yakuza movie that was a kind of pioneer in perverting the codes of the genre.

If you like 60s Japanese period flicks with a Sergio-Leonesque take on the Samurais genre, Suzuki also made a couple, but in that case do also have a look at Kenji Misumi's work, better known as the director of the original Zatoichi The Blind Swordsman, and of course as the main director of Lone Wolf And Cub, a.k.a Baby Kart. The two first movies were kind-of-butchered, re-cut and re-dubbed as "Shogun Assassin" in the USA; but the real thing is six movies long, and all of them are worth it in my opinion.

That was one of the most amazing pieces of film I've ever seen.

Zimmerman's Lawyer's Opening Statement Is a Knock-Knock Joke

Fletch says...

The Martin gangsta persona is bullshit, but the paranoid racist with delusions of grandeur portrayal of Zimmerman seems to be pretty accurate. Idiot should have stayed in his car, and although the asinine law may acquit the motherfucker, he killed Martin, and it was his (Zimmerman's) own damn fault.

And yes, catbutt, even the far-rightie nutters have a small delegation here at VS, replete with their own delusions, as well as the occasional drifter who succumbs, temporarily, to their representative media's onslaught of stupidity and faux rage.

What's up with the Zimmerman support, at Videosift of all places? I can understand chinglalera blindly defending anyone in Zimmerman's position just to maintain their rebellious online persona, but jesus christ

I'm sure you're all far more stunned than I am.

Who would have ever believed a drifter from the wrong side of the tracks, with a penchant for mischief and nonconformity, would someday be crowned. Only in Siftopia may the lowest-of-low rise to such majesty.

But I couldn't have done it without all of you. And for that, I'm much obliged! Thanks, for watching my videos and begrudgingly upvoting 2/3 of them.

But seriously, special thanks to my friends: kulpims, geo, alco, enoch, kronos, choggie and blankfist (don't they have a reality show by now?), usesprozac, evildisco, lurgee (thanks, for the push), rasch, swarmy, marinegunrock (yeah, you! you big glug), bareboards, dag, chingelera, chichorea, Nicolebee (kicked my ass in Civ), pumkin, mint and netrunner (take me off block, dude), gwizz and lann, selter, lucky, rottenseed, gorilla, eric, playhouse, death kitty, laura, peggedbea (you're one of the best), and all the others (I've overlooked a lot of good ones, but I should be doing homework right now -- I'll promote your videos while you sleep, precious forgotten) wonderful folk who stomp the shores of Videosift.

And thank you, for not kicking me out that one time. Let this be a lesson to weigh dooming judgements when the waters are muddied by anger.

And to all the haters ... a motherfucking crown, mofos!!!

Now that I've finally earned the right to deflower every maiden on her wedding night, I'm starting to warm up to this place.

Now guzzle your drinks, and salute your favorite things!

Zero Punctuation: Red Dead Redemption

I really like this game, but the story and cut scenes are terrible. It's the same kind of story telling Rockstar was doing in the 90's, which wasn't really even that good back then, but it feels really dated to me in the present. A couple hours into the game I just started skipping the lengthy cut scenes altogether with no regrets (except for not getting to seeing Icarus meet his doom off the edge of a cliff). I like digs at Bush and Blackwater as much as the next guy, but not so much in my western. If you are going to make a digital homage to the western, then crib from The Good, The Bad The Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, High Plains Drifter, The Magnificent 7, The Unforgiven, etc. Still a great game, but it would have been better with characters and a story that I cared about.

You will love Mafia 2.

Wow. Did you even play the game?? The story is phenomenal (practically the entire internet agrees, even Yahtzee), the cutscenes are solid, and the list of films you cited is pretty much the exact list that they DID crib from.

Hey longde?? Why down vote
the comment??....Are you appalled at the mention of fruits and meats?? Or that the flavor of the caps and explanation marks could be misconstrued as support for tsome, invisible and non-existent racist sentiments, hence, had you wished you had not even have to read it?? Burn a book and follow the links drifter, further explanation is needed to adequately ascertain the actual scope, intent, and motivations for this "hate crime"<<<<(newspeak bullshit vernacular of Big Brother) you can best bet it will be used as a model for what is "appropriate" and "unacceptable" in the form of some new laws in California and beyond....
This shit escapade should not have sparked protest, but a simple call out into the street and an ass-kicking to the douchebags who thought it would be funny.
