The true Ronin

Sword of Vengeance is the first in a series of 6 films, based on the excellent Lone Wolf and Cub manga created by the writer Kazuo Koike and the artist Goseki Kojima

The description on imdb "The story of a Ronin (i.e. a masterless samurai) who wanders the countryside of Japan with his small child, having various adventures." dosent do it justice.

For those not keen on subtitles, it was re cut in 1983 for the English language film Shogun Assassin, which Kill Bill 2 paid high homage too as the film being shown to the brides child right at the end.

This, and the 2nd film in the sequence, are must see classics for those who enjoy the pace, and balance of a great Japanese samurai film.
