One thing I really liked about the Voyager Elite Force was the explanation of having a shit-ton of weapons on hand, but without having a 5ft x 5ft pack on a donkey. Basically, it was a transporter/replicator based personal armoury. Wanted a pistol? Shhrrrmmmminnnnnn POP! Pistol in hand. Needed a rifle? Shhrrrmmmminnnnnn POP! Got it.

Idk, it wasn't legal anywhere in the world before 2000, its not as if the rest of the west have had it for donkeys years while we looked down on the States. Its only been legal in the UK (not even all of it!) for a year and we don't have that much of a religious right wing to contend with. Really I think its a much greater achievement given how loud those bigots have been and how much of a political issue it seems to have been.

If you want to get harsh public opposition for doing the right thing, the list for ways to do that would have to include killing defenseless puppies who did nothing wrong (in this case their owner did), saying publicly the puppies in what would be our equivalent in the US should "fuck off", personally attack an interviewer who was confronting him about how much of a douche he was being, and thin glibly celebrating his win on twitter like a complete prick.

If he was trying to piss off as many people as possible for doing the right thing, he should have just asked, "WWHD - What would Hitler do?"
