But that’s the thing....they don’t have to prove his thoughts, nor his intent, only the results....because this isn’t a criminal trial and there are very different standards, they only have to show he didn’t preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, violating his oath and duty, because the only possible sentence is for him to be bared from office. His lack of action during the attack alone far exceeded that bar.

It’s becoming more likely (but still unlikely) they could get the votes because he’s barely putting up a defense. To me it seemed like a mockery of the senate, like they were just proving the point that his defense could be someone standing at the podium shouting “Bababoui, Bababoui, Howard Stern’s penis!” and still he would not be convicted...and I think that’s pissing off some Republican senators....but there are also many who are reading books and unrelated documents among other distractions and clearly not paying attention at all, proving the defense correct, they could say anything and still get him off without presenting any defense. A sad state.
On the contrary, the prosecution’s case is straight forward with video evidence and records of what Trump tweeted and did (or didn’t do like not calling in the national guard) during the attack on top of the horrific personal experiences of the same senators hearing the case....hard to forget a lynch mob looking for you and your family to hang less than a month ago.

Remember, there is no possible prison term here, no fine, nothing but baring him from office, that’s it. There should be a criminal trial for treason IMO, but it wouldn’t be a slam dunk. I think the standard isn’t what he meant, it’s what a reasonable person would think he meant. That’s not prosecuting thought crime, it’s prosecuting speech and actions that it’s plainly foreseeable will incite real crimes.

I barely remember the inauguration riots, the million pussy hat march made more news....Trump’s “biggest crowd ever” nonsense got more airtime, and damages and injuries were fairly minimal so, especially when faced with the fresh scars from 2020, they’re easy to forget. That said, I don’t disagree....by 2022 new scandals and a desire to forget will erase this from many people’s memories.

I haven't watched the hearings. To me it's still a case of bread and circuses. They can't convict, so all of this is just an attempt to burn these images into a voting publics mind that forgets events longer than 6 months ago. This won't even be remembered by the average person by the next votes in 2022. Just like most people don't recall the riots that were sort of incited by liberals in 2017 prior to and during the inauguration. Admittedly, they didn't storm congress, but they did break into buildings, burn cars, and injure people.

Did Trump probably intend for violence? Probably, but proving his thoughts are going to take a lot more than words he used. Thankfully we haven't started putting people away for thoughtcrimes yet or I would be fucked.

Absolutely not going to your links. You have linked to virus hosts more than once...and I know these companies have absolutely not admitted they defrauded anyone....but I will gladly forward your libelous statements to them so they can add your name to the lawsuit if you desire.
Care to paraphrase what you claim Time says so I can investigate myself, including any important details and specifics not just "time said dominion admitted to fraud", or is that beyond your capabilities?

Some stupid Americans were defrauded by Trump and the right. Your blind insistence that these debunked and retracted false claims are true only shows you're still a dumb sucker. Even OAN and Newsmax have publicly stated there is no evidence of any vote fraud by these companies, the election was not rigged, it was properly certified, and Biden is the duly elected president.

How much did you give Trump to fight the steal, only to find that he only spent +- 4% on contesting the results without winning a single case or point, the rest went to his outstanding bills because he doesn't pay them.

You would think so, but he wouldn't dare say something bad about uncle Donny.

I engage mostly not for him, but to counter the insanity he spews, because if no one does there will be people swayed by his uncontradicted nonsense. I feel it's important to counter disingenuous bullshit with some verifiable fact whenever possible.
It's clear he's not interested in truth or honesty as he's said clearly multiple times...and I believe he may be incapable of learning on top of having no desire.

That felt purposely worded to be ironic, which indicates bob is not, in fact, stupid. He (or they, perhaps) is clearly trolling, pretty much all the time. Not entirely sure why you bother engaging, he's shown zero interest in actually learning anything.

Sheets Weren’t Changed at Some Hotels During COVD-19

newtboy says...

Big surprise, two hotel chains were embarrassed, accepted responsibility, and at least indicated a desire to do better.
Trump hotels just denied it, proof be damned.

Don't stay in Trump hotels unless you don't mind getting oral herpes, hepatitis, and scabies.....and an infinite karmic debt.

these people reference 'freedom' as a reason for their desire to become agents of misery. what they have yet to grok is their freedom is reliant on other people. many of those, who might be sicked and/or killed with this failed recognition.

their freedom ends where other's fists begin.

In Judaeo-Christian belief, this is the moment when sin entered the world.

Also, I remember watching this video on MTV and how quickly it was pulled. People'll watch 'Saw' by the million, but the second you refer to real suffering, they get real pissy about that.

Burt Munro's World's Fastest Indian Bike Started Up!

His story reminds me of my racing years....no team, no budget, only a deep desire to go fast. While I didn't come all the way across the Pacific, I did end up driving farther than that in a few years, easy when races are 4-500 miles away in the desert somewhere, then another 100-300 miles tearing through it before driving home. I was the only lone wolf in VORRA (Valley Off Road Racing Association) for a few years. Good times.

No desired to be DOXed by leftest nuts.

You won't vote Republican but you just might wont vote Democrat again.

After last week It the curtain is pulled back. Democrats lost.

Only Fraud by Obama administration was on full display.

Now it will take yet another 3 years for final rulings. But the worm has turned.

Grreta Thunberg's Speech to World Leaders at UN

newtboy says...

How do you solve something that's going apeshit in another country? For starters, in the case of Ukraine and Crimea, we keep our obligations we agreed to and support them with the U.S. military from day one when Russia invaded Crimea, and again in Ukraine proper. Had we done that as we specifically and unambiguously agreed to do when they gave up their nukes in return, the "civil war" (that's clearly a foreign invasion) wouldn't have occurred. That's an Obama administration failure, one that seriously harmed our international standing and trustworthiness, imo. If we had just put 100 Marines on the borders, Russia wouldn't have risked WW3 to invade either country.
My point is human political or boundary issues are nothing compared to intentionally reengineering the makeup of the atmosphere and getting enough cooperation to implement the desired (required) changes.

If she changes policy in the west, that will impact the East....and South. What America does is more often than not mirrored, especially when we're successful.
Her impact is more for the public than governments. Sway enough of the public, get them to vote on your issue, and politics will evolve at light speed.

Her delivery is exactly what's needed. An angry, educated young woman (they called me young man at 14, so don't balk), being unpleasant about having her future stolen makes exponentially more impact to the audience she targets than a thousand dry, factual, statistic rich talks by scientists. (Those are a dime a dozen today) Kids telling their parents that when the shit hits the fan, the kids are tossing them in the swollen river, not supporting them through their old age, is exactly the kick in the face many need. Kids of today will blame adults of today for the future they live in. Adults of today clearly don't consider that enough.

Something is better than nothing, she's demanding something. She's 16, do you expect her to have all the answers? (Some feasible solutions would be nice) She's well ahead of the curve just understanding the severity of the problem. I'm sure if we listened to all her speeches she gives some suggestions of action we could take to move in the right direction, but I doubt any one person has answers that solve every major effect of climate change, much less all the secondary and tertiary effects. I certainly don't expect her, at that age, to do more than demand those in power take it seriously and find solutions....and act. Chastising a major polluter who walked away from the weak, insufficient Paris agreement is a good start if it works, but I agree it's only barely a start.

You should consider it, she got millions to March for her cause worldwide. Even if she is a willing tool for some adults, it's clear more adults are tools for her. Consider, she isn't talking to kids, she's talking to adults, and some at least are listening to her, not her parents.

Personally it disturbs me that emotional delivery like this is required for many to even consider the issue beyond "what does my political party say on this issue, that's what I say too." I wish scientific issues like climate change were immune to politics, propaganda, and emotion, but they aren't. That's why we're hosed imo, humans are too willing to be deceived if the lie is more pleasant than reality, and denying there's a problem or need for change is quite pleasant to lazy Americans, far easier than facing facts and implementing difficult solutions....until it's not at least, by which time it's far too late.

Why You Should Never Put Tomatoes in the Fridge!

GroBer says...

An easy way to know how to store produce, or any food for that matter, is to see how your local grocery store keeps them. Their desire is to keep the food as tasty as possible for as long as possible. If they don't refrigerate something, it's for a reason.

Nope. Making someone's dream come true has destroyed the planet. The question for me is, did you make things better, worse, or neither for the place everyone lives. If your desire is just to make thoughtless people temporarily happy, it's a certainty you've made things worse.

Cart Narcs Catch A Dumb Hag

newtboy says...

I think you people miss the point. She is in the wrong, disrespectful, and insulting from the get go. He's being a douche intentionally to get under the skin of people like her who believe they have no obligations to be decent human beings, people who leave their messes for others to clean up without qualms because somebody will take care of them. She was being a dumb bitch before he arrived, leaving her cart where it blocks both the parking spot and endangers the neighboring car, and could easily damage others by rolling, that's why cart return spots exist. Maybe his car has been repeatedly damaged by inappropriately abandoned carts, we don't know his motivation for demanding others not be irresponsible. He maybe should have just moved it and a few others to block her then sat back and recorded her outrage, and not engaged with the douchey nutjob....but that wouldn't have the desired effect.

Guaranteed she litters, despite her claims....she absolutely records him without permission, something she claimed was illegal when he did it. Rules don't apply to people like her. Civility isn't part of their makeup, neither is accepting social obligations...She must be a Trump supporter.

He was calm and polite at first until she went full superbitch on him immediately.

I fully support being a dick to dicks, and a douche to douches. I would have supported him knocking her phone out of her hand like she tried multiple times...turnabout is always fair play, and she was the disrespectful douchebag first and best....eventually blocking handicapped parking in her disrespectful rage after trying twice to break his camera/phone.

If you're doing something wrong that could harm others and someone calls you out, YOU are the asshole, not the upright citizen who saw something and said something. If you get outraged at being called out for ignoring your responsibility, you are the douchebag that deserves public shaming.
