Joe Biden Burns Out In His Corvette Stingray

newtboy says...

Lol!
You can't find any clips of a virile or "with it" Trump, no matter how far back you look. Show me one clip of Trump running, the only thing close I recall is a photo of him playing tennis, beet red, obese, incredibly out of shape, and looking seconds from death....from 2000. Jesus Christ, he was barely older than I am today in that picture, and he looked like a sickly 75 back then.
Biden, just need to look at yesterday, or any recent clip, he's the same as 4 years ago, virile and with it, coherent, rational, and fit for his age.

I don't believe for a second you were ever ok with Biden. You miraculously don't see (or at least don't comment on) the rapid decline Trump has suffered, after starting well behind Biden in mental and physical health, but you imply Biden is a gibbering fool on his death bed, all evidence notwithstanding.

But I think you are a sock puppet for a Russian troll so I can easily discount your opinion as anti American.

I love how people are trying so hard to show how virile and with it VP Biden is by showing old clips of him doing manly things. Sadly, it only shows how far mentally he has fallen so quickly. This appears to be from Oct of '16. I feel badly for the guy, Joe has always been ok with me.

A 1921 Mob Destroyed America's Richest Black Neighborhood

And this is why Trump chose Tulsa and picked the date. He needs more white extremist votes, there are not enough plain stupid people, gun nuts, anti-abortionists and anti-alphabet-people to tip the balance. I dont include the coal lobby cause thats really declining.

Mourning in America

Jan. 22: “We have it totally under control."
Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA.
Feb. 27: “It’s going to disappear."
March 7: “No, I’m not concerned at all."
March 10: “And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”

The states that are opening are doing so against the guidelines Trump himself put forward as the minimum standards for safety....two weeks of decline in New cases.

What a moronic statement....states are crashing their own economies to make Trump look bad?! That's so insane and asinine that if I thought you meant it I would call for a welfare check because you're probably a danger to yourself.

Trump signed off on the biggest socialist handout ever, but 7/8 of that cash doesn't go to citizens, it goes to corporations and their owners like Monty Bennett, including Trump and family. I'm certain they'll go to the supreme court trying to hide the actual amount Trump's family receives. He will likely actually be a billionaire when he leaves office....they all will.

Oh...So when you post videos of old crumbling abandoned buildings in Cuba it's an honest depiction of the entire country, when someone else shows some in America it's out of line and lies....hypocrite. There are way more empty buildings in America today than 3 years ago with unemployment at historic highs.

Trump did not ignore Covid. Way ahead of others.

Governors are responsible to open their stated. They are keeping states closed to crash the economy and then to blame it on Trump.
Trump signed off of shit load of cast for working people and businesses.

Images of shambled buildings... Really? Those were shambles way before Trump showed up.

1) Do you see protesters practicing social distancing? Hint, they aren't, because the virus is a liberal hoax to bring down Trump. So moronic, but fine as long as they're only infecting each other. Open businesses and they'll restart the outbreaks and restart the clock on quarantine, wasting all the gains of the last 6 weeks.

2) open or not you'll have no tourists. Tourism is on hold for the moment, and large gatherings too. Casinos would have to rebuild themselves first, they are designed to make social distancing impossible. If no tourists guarantees failure, they Damn well better prepare for failure, because there are no tourists.

3) if they go to work and force a second, longer, more strict quarantine, all that happens anyway plus a few tens of thousands more dead.

4) agreed, and the black and white choice made solely on the basis of improving the economy must ignore the obvious health risks that themselves threaten the economy further. Opening early sets us back months, back to the start of stay at home orders, back to before the economic crash and massive losses, but without first restoring the market or economy. Do you think the economy can handle another crash? Because that's what you'll get if Trump and Trumpsters open before the minimal guidelines have been met....two weeks of declining infections and deaths. Those are Trump's guidelines, probably insufficient, but better than the "we'll be the control group in a pandemic experiment....and better than Trump himself who abandoned his own recommendations days after releasing them and now supports protesters. *facepalm

If you open, even with limited capacity, social distancing you may stay afloat.

If you don't open you will have ZERO tourist. That guarantees failure of business, city, county and the state.

If the employees stay home they will run out of $, go broke, loose the house and car and the job that let them keep it.

Seeing thing as a black and white choice is not allays a good thing. And this is not one of them.

*doublepromote recording a *quality timeline for posterity...and for a series of commercials during the next election reminding people why (by then) thousands died and why we're in a depression.

Keep reminding the weak minded cultists exactly what their messiah said and did, because if it's not shoved in their face at least once an hour they'll forget it and pretend he's never said anything different from what he says right now, and anyone who claims he did is "fake news".

Policeman Just Hanging Out While On Duty

newtboy says...

Kind of you, thanks.

The best you can do for me is be grateful for those that offer you help or kindness and express it, and not develop a sense of entitlement and expectations that others owe you favors and handouts, or an obligation to put themselves at risk. The more people that do that, the better.

Unfortunately, I have all too often gotten the opposite from those I've offered assistance, kindness, trust, or even familial benefits/ treatments. More often than not, my kindness is mistaken for weakness, and met with demands for more rather than thanks for what I gave/did, and abusive anger when I balked. My faith in humanity has been ground into the dirt and peed on consistently enough, even by family, that it's maybe not completely dead, but is on life support and declining. To keep it alive, I must now be extremely selective about who I put myself out for and how.

I sincerely hope you don't have the same experience.

okay, that went dark fast. I get your point and I am sad that this is a reality that you are familiar with. I am fortunate enough to live in a different country and am in a life situation where I can have a little bit more faith in humanity, I am lost for words.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help, lots of love.

South Park | New Israel ROCKS!

I loved that South Park chose to use a song off their debut (best) album, as i thought Van Halen music declined quickly after their first couple records.

On a side note, It was also my first record purchase along with Boston's second album and The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1. Man i had good music taste at thirteen years old I still remember being in the store picking out those albums. A pretty exciting day as i recall. Good memories

Sir Attenborough explains global deal to protect ocean

newtboy says...

A good, even *quality idea....for 40+ years ago.

It took 100+ years to mortally wound the ocean by 1000 cuts. A bandaid on one wound is not going to turn it around, and we almost certainly aren't going to do it anyway. Countries that don't buy into the plan will simply harvest most of the fish left by those who do. This only works in small scale preserves that are guarded against poaching, often by a military.

Fish stocks are disappearing at an alarming rate, many going extinct. For those species, it's too late, and they are numerous, and they are largely the fish humans prefer. Many others are in such decline fishing for them is already off limits or severely curtailed, like commercial salmon, abalone, and crab fishing in California. Even those actions have failed to revive their populations year after year.

Diatoms, phytoplankton, and other similar biotas are at the limit of acidity and temperature they can tolerate, and they are the base of the ocean food web, feeding most fish when they are fry or larvae. The gasses in the atmosphere today will push diatoms over that precipice with a massive ocean extinction following soon afterwards, and we continue to add more greenhouse gases than we added yesterday every day.

Then there's habitat loss, coral reefs and kelp forests are both being decimated by temperature rise and acidification. Together they are food and habitat for 25%-50% of all ocean fish and shellfish.

Less over harvesting of the ocean is a good idea, but pretending it alone can save the oceans is pure fantasy. The ocean has absorbed as much as 90+% of the excess heat from global warming, causing oceanic heat waves that destroy habitats both directly and indirectly. There is NO plan that solves that problem, it's well beyond our capabilities under the best conditions with worldwide maximum efforts.

Just sayin'.

Growing up in the 1950s - Home Movies

SFOGuy says...

That might be, weirdly, the source of a confused correlation for some voters. Living standards for middle class voters ("my kid can do better than me") continued to rise through about the mid to late 1970s---and after that, flat-lined for a more than a generation, all the way to today.

The correlation that some people draw is "immigrants", "civil rights", etc...

Though, perhaps, academics might point them in a different direction---trade, tax policy, the decline of unions (driving middle class wages) in the face of a shifting industrial base, technological change, and the rise of competitors who finally recovered from World War II...

It would be nice if there was a rising tide that lifted all middle class (of all backgrounds) households still...

Marriage in Decline

Mordhaus says...

Meh, personally I believe it is in decline because of the last part of the 3rd wave and most of the 4th wave of feminism. Many new feminists, in my opinion, are more concerned with a sense of 'revenge' than one of equality between sexes. This has led to a backlash within the male community, specifically men who either prefer to play the field or the crazy mgtow/incel communities.

Don't get me wrong, women DESERVE equal rights. I just feel that some are fighting to shift the rights in their favor to make up for the years that men were dominant. That path leads to ruin I think.

In any case, I may be talking out of my ass, since my Wife and I have been together since 1992. I wouldn't even know where to start trying to meet and marry someone today.

Most places have a no vulgarity, no hate speech, no sex rule applied across the board, which is fine....

I look at it differently. In a business, especially any creative business, the decision to pursue or participate in a particular transaction/venture should heavily prioritise individual freedom of choice. On the whole, I'm on board for requiring that business not decline service to people based upon attributes they are born to. Even there however, gender segregated spas are something that I still think should be allowed. That's not an arbitrary choice, up here in Canada a spa is under fire for declining access to a spa based on someone having a penis.

More succinctly, I think everyone should have as much right to think, do or act however they like. Equally though, people should have the right to not participate in other people's lifestyles as well.

Maybe...depends on their business. If they make other personalised inflammatory cakes, probably. If they make "hey man, nice shot" cakes celebrating cops being shot, definitely.

If they make personalised hate cakes, I would expect them to either pay a large fine for refusing or use the 'special' chocolate icing, and record the person ordering it for public exposure.

Most places have a no vulgarity, no hate speech, no sex rule applied across the board, which is fine....but you must use common definitions for those terms applied equally for everyone.
If "congratulations Pat and Chris" is ok for you if that's Patricia and Christian, you cannot decide it's not ok for Patrick and Christian, or Patricia and Christine, no matter how icky you find it, or how afraid you are that you'll lose control and kiss them.
