I've seen - both online & in-person - too many "influencers" filming these videos and what comes after off-camera that I'm cynical of its altruistic intent/value.

Video ads are not limited to traditional TV anymore. Ads on YouTube often runs more than 2 minutes. Skippable though.

This one is going for the feels. Whether you like it strictly depends on how cynical a person you are.

My father passed away this February. So this year's Father Day is going to be a little tough, as these type of ads will shows up right after Mother's Day.

I think it's even worse - those last few seemed like the balloons might've been pushed into the Roomba. They were suspiciously zoomed-in. Perhaps I'm just cynical though.

So many of those things look great... for the one precise task. It was fun to watch purely to debunk how useful the thing actually is.

- Peel any fruit perfectly... so long as it's just the right size.
- Get 4 hardboiled eggs in 9 minutes.... using this large cute object instead of a general purpose pan
- Grinding salt and pepper has never been easier... if you have a wrist injury and like this exact flow rate

Getting old and cynical is fun!

But Fox's cynical contempt is well founded. They are created For Idiots, By Idiots. But Fox do roll in the dough, unfortunately.

Math is the main requirement for engineering. If you can’t do basic math, it’s incredibly unlikely you could earn a degree in any kind of engineering. If your wife couldn’t write a sentence I would also doubt any journalist credentials she claimed, if she couldn’t do basic arithmetic I would doubt any degree she claimed. There are basic minimum requirements to graduate that you don’t seem to meet. So much for your stupid rebuttal.

As I’ve said repeatedly, clearly, and directly, no. I don’t think he’s achieving as much as even I hoped for in my unbounded cynicism, and I never had high hopes from him, he’s not my choice….but I understand exactly why he’s not getting much done and don’t hold him 100% accountable for much of it. Without a functional congress, his hands are tied on many fronts.
Foreign policy, that’s on him. I wish we had soldiers in the Ukraine so Russia would be forced to attack America if they want to attack the Ukraine….like we said we would when they gave up their nukes by treaty.

My first reaction to it was, if the father treasures the car and memories (the photo) so much, why not even get a full-body cover to protect it from the elements? This dumb holiday message/ad can't even get emotions right.

God damn y'all a bunch of cynical mother fuckers in these comments. I mean, you're not wrong, it's a holiday commercial for a company that wants to make money. Sure. But it is also really well done and, at least for me, touched a nerve with the progression of time, loss, looking back at the "good ole' days," and remembering what we still have.
