Hans Zimmer - Interstellar - Main Theme (Piano Version)

ChaosEngine says...

Well, I was joking, but replace "predicting" with "instructing" and that still describes exactly the way guitar hero or rocksmith work.

And it will only ever be as perfect as the human playing it.

Either way, it's a cool video and a nice piece.

Shame the movie wasn't nearly as good...

Not really. The incoming notes were exactly what he was playing, only running reverse through time, effect before cause. They were actually "predicting" his key presses.

You could tell where some notes were shorter than what they'd actually be in a Hero game, or in some cases where two notes were held and one ended a fraction of a second before the other. A Hero game would be "perfect" but this was imperfect.

Considering the movie, this visualisation, basically showing you information from the future, is pretty cool.

You are welcome. It is a cool video and the tune gets stuck in my head often. "All mixed up in the wash

Not to ruin it for you, but look carefully for the sleight-of-hand (or is that sleight-of-foot) @3:21. She goes from high-heels, to flat-soles for the flip, then back to high-heels for the jump.

Still a cool video.

At first I was going to make a snarky comment about the lack of grace in the choreography. Then I realized that anyone who can do all these acrobatics in spike heels is so far out of the norm that they are, for all intents and purposes, superhuman. Now I'm afraid to say anything even remotely derogatory about the video.

Are we sure this isn't photo manipulation? I was willing to buy that maybe they were on some sort of migration.

But when all their little heads when up at the same time?

Not sure I buy it.

Cool video. Just may not be nature.

I expect Captain Obvious to show up now and school me on my naivety.

Project Blue Beam Whale Hologram in School Gymnasium

Gratefulmom says...

Ok, tell me what you think of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CqUYBopWLs I believe you are right, however, it's a pretty cool video..the one I listed here for you to check out has had some controversy over whether it is real or not.

newtboy said:

Sadly I'm going to have to call 'fake'.

First, "project blue beam" is a conspiracy theory idea that claims things like the planes that flew into the twin towers were really holograms, or that there's an alien invasion program creating odd holographic images to confuse humans, or aliens are using holograms to present us with a false messiah/Jesus/Gawd/4 horsemen of the apocalypse. Uh...yeah.
Second, I notice that only a single person in the background audience has a reaction that might be attributed to seeing a whale jump at you, the rest just clap casually.
Third, there are many clear artifacts at the whale's edge where they photoshopped it in.

I wish holograms were at this level today, and they should be, but they aren't. Projecting white into a bright 3D space doesn't work without smoke or mist to project on, and even then it's only really visible when the surroundings are darker.

Are these guys actually a band? I thought they just made cool videos and added some music to them

I'm not really a fan of most of their music, but I kind of liked this song, and that was a REALLY cool video imo. Can't fault them for their creativity.

Cool video, but he neglected to mention how inhospitable the universe can be. If your planet is getting hit by a GRB every so often, life won't have the time it needs to really get going.

Everything We Think We Know About Addiction Is Wrong

Khufu says...

Oh, I think what you've overlooked is that we evolved from the same critters that rats evolved from and are more similar than different. And the other place you may be confused is that we weren't created, and there is no 'purpose' for us besides the one we decide ourselves. Hope I cleared that up for you;)

oh, and cool video... makes a lot of good points!

shinyblurry said:

Anyone notice that some conclusions of the basic premise were drawn from the behavior of rats? It's kind of interesting how we all just kind of nod and smile when a scientist or psychologist draws conclusions about us from rodents. The reason that the rat is happy in rat happy land is because that is all the reason the rat is here; to be a rat. If a rat is getting his senses stimulated, physically and socially, he is going to be happy because there is nothing more to his life. There is more to our lives than having our senses stimulated by physical pleasures and social interactions.

We, unlike rats or any other animals, were created to have a relationship with our Creator. Existence in the material world will never fully satisfy anyone, because our hearts are longing for eternal, and not temporal satisfaction, which only God can give us. Our happiness on Earth is largely dependent on our conditions, and if our conditions are bad, happiness and peace are fleeting. Real life with God brings a lasting satisfaction and peace which transcends every circumstance of life, and a living hope which buoys the spirit and brings unending joy.

I agree with the idea of the cage, and that cage is the prison of sin. it has nothing to do with social connections, or lack thereof. Some of the most famous people on Earth, who have the whole world as their oyster, are addicted to drugs, depressed, disillusioned, and grasping for meaning in their lives. Sin is a spiritual prison which brings only death and destruction. In this life you reap what you sow, and the wages of sin is death. A seed thrown into dry ground, cracking under the noon-day sun, is not going to bear any fruit. So it is when people go into the desert of sin looking for paradise; the illusion will occasionally be dispelled by a mouthful of sand, but like a rat they keep going back to the trap.

There is a way out, because although we cannot pay for our own sins and escape the trap, the Lord Jesus Christ took the punishment for our sins so that we could be set free. On the cross, He paid the price for our sins, yours and mine; when we begin to trust Him as our Lord and Savior, He will give us a new life, and a new heart with new desires to turn away from sin and live according to His will. We are set free from the bondage, not only of addiction, but sin and death. He heals our deepest wounds and comforts us, he heals deep seated habits, depression and mental illness.

When you open the cage of sin and let the Lord in, this scripture begins to operate: 2Cor3:17 Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty
