Chris Hayes Explains COVID-19 Testing To Trump

luxintenebris jokingly says...

@BK: Come on comrade. 'Checkers' compeers are corruption, conflict, canards, crazy conjectures combined with constant consternation. Any calmness, composure, or confidence is quickly cluttered in the company of his orange countenance.

FEAR is his being.

unless the meaning, the video of d.j.'s mental bleakness, is the means of spreading FEAR - then it's a fair cop.

Pallbearer Snub Mitch McConnell At Elijah Cummings' Memorial

newtboy says...

Funny you completely ignored the question AND (apparently) tried to reply in a manner that you hoped I wouldn't notice.
To repeat- What makes you think you know what party Mr Rankin is affiliated with?

Exactly what lies am I to keep believing?

When you publicly embrace the (reptile) "man" you blame for your own brother's death, the racist politician who personally blocked your loved one's access to healthcare he earned by valiantly serving his country, at another friends funeral, a friend that same man had disparaged and disrespected on numerous occasions, come back and show me and we'll discuss it. Until then, nice try, but nope....you're clearly just bitterly blaming others for actions you would find insufficiently rude and escalate.

Keep believing your own ridiculous partisan insanity, I'll keep pointing it out.

He was perfectly decent, didn't say a word or make a big deal about it like the whining republicans have. He just quietly moved past him. If Republicans hadn't made a big deal out of it, few would have noticed.

I say McConnell couldn't generate a modicum of decency and was incapable of maintaining his composure over not getting his hand shaken and had to visibly show his displeasure on national television, otherwise no one else would ever have known it happened.

McConnell is undeniably a douche and an architect and example of the problem.

Woman steps into the line of fire to save a homeless man

diego says...

Its kind of comical how terrified american police officers always appear in these videos. The contrast between the police officer and the woman's composure is too much, they may want to consider improving their selection procedure and training techniques.

the elephant in the room, and no one wants to admit it right or left, is that the history of police /judicial systems has never been good. Im not saying it to advocate for anarchy but basically everywhere, always, police abuse their power, while preventing very little crime / providing justice. I dont pretend to know all of history, but I never get much of a response when I say this and I thinks its because power corrupts no matter what, and there will always be minority others to justify abusing. The very very best you can hope for is to have enough oversight so as to make the corruption spread out, obscure, and minimal but even then...

For a long time I thought the US police was at least more effective in closing cases but between the US getting its ass kicked in the drug war despite the militarized police and a report I saw about poor coordination across state lines leading to murders and missing persons cases going unresolved for decades

Real Marine Loses His Sh*t When He Spots A Fake Veteran Scam

If they weren't fakers, I think they wouldn't have lost their composure and cursed him out, they would be disciplined and knowledgeable.
Their actions indicate they are frauds, I hope they get prosecuted.

I have no words

Just about the level of both intelligence and composure you would expect from average science deniers.
The crowd watching this moron like he's a learned professor explaining something amazing and not a crazy person ranting ignorant nonsense while he fondles some girls in front of them is a bit scary though.

Trump And Obama, Sitting In DC, A-W-K-W-A-R-D

Yep, Obama truly is a classy dude. I admire his composure.
On the other hand, imagine what Trump will do for Obama's image going forward. That's pure legacy gold.

Judge backs charges against cops in Tamir Rice killing

Mordhaus says...

They pulled too close, fired way to fast, even the judge agreed. Yes, some blame falls on the parents, but how many cops are being shot and killed vs citizens at this point?

When does officer safety trump the fact that they are supposed to serve and protect, not shoot at the first option and sort it out later? They fired on Tamir within 2 Seconds of arriving on scene, 2 seconds...

What is even more disturbing about this case is, after shooting him, the police walked around the scene and looked for the weapon while the kid lay dying on the snow. Tamir laid there for 4 minutes bleeding from a torso gunshot wound until a police detective and an FBI agent who happened to be nearby came and rendered aid.

Both cops also had issues.

In a memo to Independence's human resources manager, released by the city in the aftermath of the shooting, Independence deputy police chief Jim Polak wrote that Loehmann had resigned rather than face certain termination due to concerns that he lacked the emotional stability to be a police officer. Polak said that Loehmann was unable to follow "basic functions as instructed". He specifically cited a "dangerous loss of composure" that occurred in a weapons training exercise, during which Loehmann's weapons handling was "dismal" and he became visibly "distracted and weepy" as a result of relationship problems. The memo concluded, "Individually, these events would not be considered major situations, but when taken together they show a pattern of a lack of maturity, indiscretion and not following instructions, I do not believe time, nor training, will be able to change or correct these deficiencies." It was subsequently revealed that Cleveland police officials never reviewed Loehmann's personnel file from Independence prior to hiring him.

Garmback, who was driving the police cruiser, has been a police officer in Cleveland since 2008. In 2014, the City of Cleveland paid US$100,000 to settle an excessive force lawsuit brought against him by a local woman; according to her lawsuit, Garmback "rushed and placed her in a chokehold, tackled her to the ground, twisted her wrist and began hitting her body" and "such reckless, wanton and willful excessive use of force proximately caused bodily injury". The woman had called the police to report a car blocking her driveway. The settlement does not appear in Garmback's personnel file.

Amazing pieces of work, and both out there to take care of us. I feel safe, do you?

Is that the "gun" the kid had and was point / waving? A colt 1911. A great hand gun to have, no orange tip? Where is parental control on this?

It seems to me that since the cops pulled up directly on the kid they had not choice except for self protection.

That being said the cops should not have pulled up that close but close enough to have a stand off and have the kid surrender the weapon.

Ygritte from Game of Thrones - how strong is she really?

Chairman_woo says...

We know it's powerful enough to penetrate, fur &/or mail + a thick gambeson/doublet as most of the Nights watch wear (reference, any scene where she shoots a battle dressed crow such as end of season 4). Even allowing for heavy shafts and piercing tips that's still some serious power.

Well beyond your average 20-40lb target & small game hunting type bows. Even if it was primarily a hunting bow, the wildings frequently hunt big game like Elks so it makes sense that it'd be a relatively heavy draw.

Besides even if it was a relatively light warbow (60-80lbs or so lets say), that's still hardcore to the extreme to hold at full draw for more than a few seconds and not loose ones composure (my aim would probably start shaking after 3-4, my body after 10-20 tops).

(and I think 80-120lbs is probably more likely anyway)

Besides this all misses the real point underlying i.e. no one trained with a bow would be silly enough to waste so much energy holding at full draw. Half maybe, or just taking up the slack.

Doubly silly given John has no ranged weapon of his own here and she could probably draw and loose 2 or 3 arrows before he closed the distance if he tried.

Goes on my list of pet gripes with GOT alongside Daenerys "firing" catapults and the occasional sword "schwing" sound. (not that I don't love the show)

Of course, you don't know the draw of her bow. You can only speculate. In other words, you know nothing, Jon Snow.

Should drug-sniffing dogs be discredited

lantern53 says...

No, a police dog is a tool.

Humans are more valuable than animals.

But I must say, you make an incredible number of assumptions in your thinking.
It just so happens that in less than an hour I must take my cat to the vet to be euthanized and it's about all I can do to keep my composure.

Any officer who loses a dog to a criminal act is devastated, but the officer still realizes that people are more important than animals.

You constantly demonstrate your knee-jerk emotionalism and animus to a difficult job that you would undoubtedly be unable to do.

Now to end this waste of time.

Umm......In America, it means something TOTALLY Different!!!

bremnet says...

Yes, that's better, put a label on him. Could it not simply be that it struck him as funny, and he couldn't regain composure? You're such a dick. (now, do I mean 'dick = penis' or 'dick = investigator employed in gaining / exposing information through reasoned deduction'... hmmmm)

Headrest to Break Car Window

speechless says...

First off, she taps the glass in the beginning like she's afraid to even hit it. Second, I'm pretty sure removing a headrest isn't something you would have time/composure for, considering you generally need to insert a straightened paper clip or similar into two tiny holes (one at a time) while lifting up to get the headrest out. But it's good info that you could jam some object in there and use leverage to create pressure for the glass to shatter, so here is half an upvote.
