Colbert Fixes CNN's Apple (Trump Vs Fact) Ad

RFlagg says...

CNN uses more facts in a day than FOX has total since the days I watched it day in and day out and railed against the commie left, and the dangers of the Demoncrats some 11 years ago (here's a prior version of me on an account I couldn't recover: https://videosift.com/video/Fox-News-takes-Rep-Wexler-from-the-Colbert-Report-out-of-context-I-enjoy-cocaine-because#comment-12957 ... I thought there was another post under that account where I blasted evolution but I don't see it)... had I not opened my eyes and started vetting, I'd probably be right there with you though, so you go and do your thing.

Hey...isn't he supposed to be on the shelf on the, now closed, Colbert Report set? I was looking for him on the last show when Colbert was choosing things to take...but he was no where to be seen. What's up with that?

Also, what's the deal with the orange unibrow?

Stephen Colbert on the Democratic Debate

Khufu says...

This is how he is every night, no? Are you confusing 'Colbert Report' with the 'Late Show'? 'cause on the Colbert Report everything he said was through the filter of the right-wing talking head character he was playing. Now that he's hosting the Late Show the character is dropped it's just him, which is nice because some people don't get the satire and he has some important things to say;)

I'm guessing you do know that, but there you go.

Same here, the new show is barely palatable. I hope this drift slowly back into the Colbert Report format, and for crying out loud, get rid of that sideshow/band!

"If that's the standard, then congress is loaded with quality candidates."

...I haven't been real keen on Colbert on the late show yet, but maybe that line marks a turning point. Genius, comedy gold!

Welcome To The First Church Of Cannabis

I might start watching (downloading) this just because I can't believe this is the new face of late night.
I keep thinking there's something going on, like a contention between his wishes and the networks, or that someone is completely out of ideas for new material and this is a failure in action, but this might be instead that the people involved went to him and said "Make the 'Colbert Report' as the new late night staple." They actually want to introduce that format out as the new norm, which is pretty cool and crazy to think about.

Who Is Stephen Colbert?

jimnms says...

I liked the old show better, but some of it still has a little vibe of the old Colbert Report. I watched it for the first week and quit. I never cared much for late night talk shows. I used to occasionally watch Letterman and a few others, but I only like the opening bits. I don't care to watch interviews of celebrities, so I quit watching when the interviews started. Even with the Daily Show and the old Colbert Report I rarely watched the interview portion.

I never thought I'd say this, but I am not sure I like these new Colbert segments :'(

I'm thinking the Late Show is gonna be pretty good even though I don't actually watch late night talk shows. Colbert is at least as entertaining out of his Colbert Report character.
