Our Cat versus Owl Moment
MichaelLDon't be too sure. I once saw a mature bald eagle chased off by a cat. The eagle was low in a tree and suddenly this cat charged it from a nearby brush, hissing, back up and claws swinging. The eagle took off in complete panic.
Pound for pound few animals can match a cat for sheer ferocity. There are youtube vids of them taking on alligators, cobras, bears... There are even some vids of cats stalking hawks and even though the hawks down bluff easily, they are almost always the ones to exit first.
Pretty sure the owl would win that fight..

MichaelLThe only time I ever saw him 'blink' was when he faced an aggressive cobra. It repeatedly attacked the camera, and was reared up about three feet off the ground. Irwin gamely tried to grab its tail a few times but the cobra snapped around pretty fast.
Irwin finally admitted defeat... "I think we'll let this one go..." and this freaky snake went off into the bush, its head still about three feet off the ground. WOULD NOT want to stumble across that in the bush...

Not too sure what the pilot was thinking, even with my mediocre knowledge of flight and how it works, I could easily see that he entered into a slip.
He was waaaay too low to turn the chopper the way he did, and because the thrust was pointed away from the ground, it literally "slipped" out of the air for a few seconds, getting him danger close to the ground.
