VideoSift Podcast Episode 2 (Sift Talk Post)

kulpims says...

Continuum season one is ok, but don't bother watching the rest cause it sucks. there's a great new sci-fi show called The Expanse and I've also been watching The Colony which is quite promising so far ... As for Life on Mars I'd recommend watching the british version. I found Limitless extremely boring and unimaginative, didn't watch it past episode two
btw -- Choggie, are you there, you reading this? I miss your cajun cooking videos on yt

Recipe #1
Dystopianfuturetoday:
EGGDILLA

-2 Corn Tortillas (get good tortillas from a mexican market)

-1 Egg

-Oil (I used olive oil, but veggie or canola should work fine)

-Pepper Jack Cheese (Use other types of cheese if you like)

-Cajun Seasoning - I used “Slap Ya Mama” seasoning - which is a mix of salt, red pepper, white pepper and garlic. Improvise if you need to.

-Mayo - You can leave this out if you are trying to be healthy

-Gochugang Sauce - This is a mix of pepper paste, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce and honey. Mix to taste, put it in a squeeze bottle in the fridge and it will taste delicious on just about anything. Formal recipe here: http://www.luluz.net/articles/eat/gochujang-sauce-for-bibimbap/

If the people in the video are French than I think it should count because after all they are French. Also French Canadians and even French Cajuns I think should count because they are descendants and the culture must be influenced as in Mardis Gras in New Orleans. I had a playlist already filled with videos most of the ones of yours that were placed in the channel were automatically placed there via siftbot out of that playlist.
In reply to this comment by oritteropo:
You know, I did think of putting it in the French channel, they are French and the Cafe is in Paris, but they are singing in English and to me it seems more international.

I have already put quite a few of my sifted and PQ'd vids into French... including one Québécois singing in French You were very quick off the mark, half the ones I was going to add were already done.

Stupid - I even saw the American flag on your page and it still didn't click that you were joking.

No, I've never seen Coneheads. What have I missed?

In reply to this comment by chicchorea:
...eat what?!

Never watched Coneheads for one?

Alright, I'm from Texas. That should provide stereotype cannon fodder enough.

As for Francais, I know a little Cajun French. However, before I demonstrate my acumen or lack thereof, I think I need the above query satisfied.

As to Rennes,...read a bit about Rennes Le Chateau and seen a bit of footage. It looks to be a magnificent region.

Zut alors, un Francais - sacre bleu! J'espere que tu as mange ton croissant deja aujourd-hui!

Phew! While I lived in Rennes for six months over ten years ago, writing French was never my strong point. I am well versed in French stereotypes, however. So be warned...

Of Mosques and Men: Reflections on the Ground Zero Mosque

GeeSussFreeK says...

>> ^Bloocut:

Symbol addiction has reached stellar heights since the advent of television-TV has been the most successful tool for empire-building and mass-hypnosis. The proposed mosque in question has had so far, the desired effect that this gentleman describes. Hidden agendas aren't that complicated once one extracts their head from their ass, and their numb, drooling faces from the front of this insidious tool for societal mind control.

While I agree that this seems more of a pawn in a bigger game of chess being played...it is hardly new. From Helen of Troy to the fear of barbarians of the North, symbolic banding is something intrinsic to human nature and not a wholly new media creation. However, your counter point seems to actually beg the question, if symbolic representation is something that has been with us and/or heightened in recent years, then would it not be a fair assessment to assume that BOTH sides have some of that going on? If symbolism resonates with mankind, then this would seem to be more of an issue of why it should concern us instead of why it shouldn't.

thing is amerca is going to detry its self from the inside anny way it alredy is pritty much with the ritch pore devide , id be way way way more worried about welth distrabutoin , welfair , and the damage the midea , and people like palin and beck, are capable on onflicting to the country.

I agree wes, many wide sweeping and unfounded statements...but let there be no doubt that the economy went belly up on 911. My business was literally empty for weeks, we went belly up within 3 months. The different was stark and real. It might of not been perpetual, but the damage was done, and there is now no longer fresh, tasty, wonderful, delightful, Cajun seafood in San Antonio (sigh, O wonderful Jambalaya how I miss you.)
