We average a playoff appearance every 7 years, have 1 pennant, and haven't won a WS game... ever. However, we are on a roll since the AS break, have a better farm system, and have a nice spread of tradable veteran talent. Think Oberg, since a couple of LOOGY's have been traded already. The Tulo trade hasn't washed out yet, completely. We have Bettis gaining confidence, Gray is becoming dominate, and JDLR can guide the staff. Ottivino is just like Romo with the slider, just nasty, but coming off TJ, and Chatwood has a lively FB. (yet off his 2nd TJ) but can easily spot start or be a serviceable number 4-5. Especially at Coors, where you need to miss bats or induce grounders to be productive. The offense has up and comers, but what team doesn't? I wish the brass would shoot for more contact hitters with our vast outfield, plus we needn't rely on the long ball on the road as much. We don't have a gimmick park like S.F., even though people think otherwise. I mean shit, your bullpen is in play. That's just stupid for a team that plays 81 games there. Anyway, before I talk management, enjoy your next year or two of baseball, and continuing paying those taxes for that stadium Bonds built. (You're not, should have used my puppet account on that one.)

Military will refuse to obey unlawful orders from Pres Trump
@newtboy and @Dragen_Jager
My main point is just in agreement with Hayden, that given a grossly illegal and unpalatable order like targeting women and children just because of who they are related to is something that America's current top brass would say no to.
That said, in existential wars there is no such things as a war crime any more. Or at the least, the definition will be written by the victors(Fire bombing Dresden and Tokyo, or nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki).
Furthermore, what is approved in a 'black ops' sense has IMO always been something that America and every other nation has done, and again with the only meaningful rule being that it be effective and secret and/or deniable. Hence my ask the CIA quip,

Man Shot Dead In Drunken Militia Dispute
Open carry is the straw that breaks the bouncers' backs? Um, no. It's not suddenly Blazing Saddles here. If you're licensed to carry, most have enough common sense NOT to carry openly in our bars because drunks are temporarily or permanently dumb. The bouncers still fear the nut-jobs with knives, brass knuckles, and ice picks tucked into their boot - it's not about the weapon, it's about the person holding it. Once the mentally challenged get into the parking lot, all bets are off and whatever can be used as a weapon often is. Bat, chain, antenna, canoe paddle, road flare etc.
We lecture people endlessly about how stupid it is to drink and drive, but loaded firearms? Sure, what could possibly go wrong?
When they started allowing open carry in bars in Texas I wonder how many bouncers just quit, right there and then.
Guy follows KKK Marchers, Plays Tuba
As a low brass player, I'd say a sousaphone is in the tuba family: the lowest common brass instruments, an octave below trombones and baritones/euphoniums.
A sousaphone in particular is a marching tuba (named after composer John Philip Sousa), constructed to wrap around the player and place the load on the shoulder, with the bell projecting the sound forward instead of up.
Another type of marching tuba is a contra, more common in drum and bugle corps. It looks like a normal concert tuba but with a 90-degree twist to the valves and mouthpiece pipe so that it also rests on the shoulder with the bell facing forward.
I've always wondered, are sousaphones the same as tubas? My ears can't tell if there's a difference in sound.
Close Air Support (best A-10C Warthog video ever)
Cheap, easy to repair, easy to rearm. Not sure why the top brass wants to get rid of them.
Close Air Support (best A-10C Warthog video ever)
Correction, the Air Force Brass hates them. Why?
1. They work perfectly for the role they were designed for. Brass want a plane that will be obsolete after 15 years or so, so that they can score big with plane mfg's
2. The typical AFB idea of close combat is a few miles away by button. You shouldn't be close enough to see the carnage. Just a poof and turn around to land. Having such a brute force plane is distasteful to them.
3. The A10 is called to support infantry most of the time. The Air Force overall still has a chip on their shoulder when it comes to the Army and other 'ground' forces. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go out of their way to piss on an infantryman if he was on fire.
Basically the A10 is similar to the Harrier, it works well, it's not flashy, and it takes a beating. Complete opposite of most Air Force planes. The F35 that they want to replace both with is a joke and is mindbogglingly more expensive. If you watch any video that has an A10 pilot in it, talking about the plane, they can't sing it's praises enough. Sadly they have no say in whether it gets replaced.
the infantry love these planes and the airforce hate them. They are cheap (relative) and highly effective
First James Bond SPECTRE teaser trailer
I love it when the Spectre logo shows up and then you hear those brass notes. chill down the spine.
Little kid takes a ride on escalator rail
Who hasn't tried to do this when they were kids (or drunk adult)? I did this on an UP escalator when I was a kid (and unsuccessfully as a sobriety challenged adult). That kid has brass cajones for riding the DOWN rail head first.

Over here, the union of railroad engineers is currently showcasing what a union was supposed to be doing, and almost the entire establishment is fuming. You just got to love how a proper strike reveals so many of them for what they are: corporatists who couldn't give a shit about workers.
"How can such a small group of people exploit their positions to grind an entire country to a halt? How can they hold us hostage like this?"
Ironically, it's the same people who (partially-)privatised our railroad in the first place. Railroad engineers used to be civil servants, no risks of strikes there.
The press is demonising them, brass from both government parties is demonising them, laws are proposed to practically strip them of their right to go on strike...
All major unions have been in bed with corporations for so long now that people barely remember what it looks like when a union fights for its members. They used to fear union leaders like Otto Brenner (Otto the Great, Iron Otto), now they're playing golf with his successors.
Classical orchestra eating the worlds hottest chili peppers
The brass and woodwinds had it the hardest. Think of how much saliva you generate when eating spicy food.
