No but I believe the set up and the ideas in some of these clips show a degree of creativity that could be considered "Art".

No, you have listed a bunch of neat stuff that could look cool in slow-motion. The point Yogi was trying to make is that the "art" portion of this video comes from unique camera angles, setup, different colors used (Primary), engaging background music, the switching of time-shifting, ect... were all carefully constructed to make this video intriguing. And that, my friend, is art.

UltraSlo - Popping a Balloon (on Bewbs)

Youtube's Red Light Runners compilation

The footage of the biker at 6:00 is terrible.

The two people crossing the street at 2:30 horrifying! One of them was carrying a baloon. Was it a child walking with their parent?

Making light of people having their bones crushed gets no upvote. This is too close to snuff for me.

Yeah, Blanky.

Baloon-Juice is one of the better political snark blogs out there. I know it's not your cuppa tea-party, and tends to have rational, logical, and truthful discussion about important issue, and they think Randian philosophy and Grover Norquist should be drowned in a bathtub. But it's really a good read.

Seems like it would be fairly trivial to have a parachute inside the balloon so that the equipment would safely descend when the balloon let rip. You wouldn't have to worry about deployment, then, which might otherwise include extra weight in the form of sensors and/or some sort of mechanical chute deployment.

On further thought, I guess it depends on how thoroughly the balloon is destroyed. The remains of the balloon could interfere with the chute opening.

I wonder what the absolute top altitude of a weather baloon is? I guess at some point, the helium is heavier than the surrounding near vacuum. It would be helpful if there was something - other than a rocket that carries all its reaction mass with it - that could reach space.

"The highest altitude ever achieved by one such unmanned research balloon was 51,820m; this balloon was launched from Chico, California in 1972" (32.2 miles)
